Sea Shell City! What a great place. You might be surprised at the number of things you can do with shells. First and most important to me is a bigger hermit crab shell. I've had my hermit crab well over 8 years. Prob 10 tbh. We treat this crab like a king but we ran out of the shells he likes to live in. Yes they are picky! And no kidding he's molting while we're here on vacation so perfect timing and Sea Shell City has the shells he likes! Home decor! A nice Conch on the fireplace mantel or a bowl of clay shells in tje bathroom are a hit. You can make shell wind chimes and shell necklaces. You can out them in your fish tank and in your garden. I have a couple shells in my pot with my snake plant. Just eye candy really. Also they can be great for conversation starters when your guests come over. On to the incense! They has the thick sticks for $1 each! Cinnamon and Vanilla for me. The normal thin ones were $0.20 a each so I'm set. They had a great selection of scents. Sea Shell City also has your theme decor of: "It's 5 o'clock somewhere" stuff. Wall hangings and paradise bird decor stuff. You know. I love it. And so do millions of other people. This place has been around more than 40 years and still providing a great service! No Covid bringing this place down! Come on in and brainstorm while you walk around. We went into sea shell city store today to look at all of the items for sale. They have a lot of beach themed signs, coasters, trinkets, etc. They have a huge selection of different Fenwick Island souvenirs to buy as well. The shop closes at 4pm on Friday, so just keep this in mind if you go. The prices were on some things were a little high, but expected for a beach shop. We loved the shipwreck museum they had upstairs! read more

This is the perfect place to visit when there is a cloudy/rainy day at the shore! Tons of beachy trinkets and other useless items, but definitely a fun place to browse! You may even find a cool cheesy gift. Upstairs is a museum dedicated to sunken ships. They have some neat artifacts from random wrecks, as well as the well-known Titanic! You are sure to leave with more than one fun thing and not spend too much of your vacation moolah! Definitely a hit with the kids! read more

I have been visiting Sea Shell City from the mid to late '70s. I was a child and just fell in love with this place. When I am there everyone I come with is always waiting for me. I can be in there for hours if I am by myself easy. We are headed to OC this long weekend 8/28/20 to the 31st. SSC will be my first visit when it comes to buying anything at the beach. I always give them my money first. I am mainly going also for there hermit crabs. I hope they many Teenies as I want at least 20. I have tons of small shells and more for them to grow into over the years. I also need to stock up on some large shells for my big guys n gals. I am 51 and feel like a kid again every time I step into that store. I get a giant smile on my face that doesn't leave. I'm already excited to get there this Friday and blow some money at that ladies' store. If I was ever to find a place to stay for a summer I would be honored to get a job there and help out. I absolutely love this shop! I've been here multiple times, and enjoyed every visit. I especially love the amount of shells they have, while all off them looking amazing. They also sell the classic souvenirs, bracelets, and much more. Upstairs, there's a little museum with interesting artifacts. There are even claw machines scattered around the store, which I enjoy. First time here and I loved it. The ladies here are all sweet and very friendly. We came in with four rowdy kids and the woman at the counter was gracious enough to give both our girls seashell necklaces. They loved them! Besides this being a great gift shop and has numerous seashell items, it has an extraordinary free museum with artifacts from the SS Republic and the Titanic, plus some other shipwrecks and found treasures. We come here every year and I will be sure to visit every year. read more

Most of this store was filled with usual tacky beach souvenirs but their selection of sea shells totally made up for everything else! Sure, there was a funky smell in the shell section but I was able to add a bunch of shells to my collection for not a lot of money. Oh, and I appreciated that they wrapped all of my small shells in wrapping paper and in a small cardboard box. read more

Neat place to pick up beachy home decor, kids toys, hermit crabs and of course shells. This is the best variety and prices I've seen on the shore. They also have candles and jewelry and some unusual items (geodes, incense) but it's the shell selection that keeps me coming back. The 2 ladies at the counter are terrific! Friendly and they wrap everything up in paper to keep it from breaking. read more

I was terribly unhappy to discover when Sea Shell City is closed, they chose to make a profit by having cars towed from their empty lot! Be careful Sea Shell City, you may find you have an empty lot when you are open. We will never go back to your store. read more

I have been stopping by Sea Shell City for 20+ years (formerly Ruth's Shell Shop). Great place to buy unique shells - store owner Virginia, is very knowledgeable about what sea life (starfish) are needing to repopulate and is careful to make sure her suppliers are doing the right thing. Also great gifts priced reasonably. Some schlock for the kiddos and nicer things for the adults. Definitely 5 stars! read more
