We got sat right away (make that reservation to save the headache) and since we were used to the LA and Vegas location so I was ready to order. We started with the focaccia and got the mortadella bread as well. Got some meatballs which are better than the traditional ground beef kind as the meats shredded! Then the 2 diavolo's came and we should've gotten a different second pizza but now we know for next time! AND THEN the cacio and rigatocini came out which we also very much enjoyed. An opulent failed attempt at fine dining…read more At first glance, the place is impressive -- beautiful cars outside, constant traffic of guests walking in, crisp white tablecloths setting the stage for what appears to be a refined dining experience. Unfortunately, the illusion fades rather quickly. The first sign of trouble arrives with the server sporting a rather impressive lip piercing, followed closely by a colleague whose diamond nose stud could probably be seen from space. Not exactly the ambiance one expects when aiming for "elegant." Despite the abundance of servers floating around the dining room, none seem to notice when your knife dramatically dives off the table and lands on the floor -- where it enjoys a long, lonely stay. Water service is also quite innovative: they simply leave the entire bottle at the table, which seems less about generosity and more about avoiding the inconvenience of returning to refill your glass. The food? Sadly just as uninspired. From the octopus to the $68 Milanese, every dish managed the impressive feat of being completely flavorless. The Milanese arrived with a beautiful crust, which raised hopes... until you realized there was no sauce, no garnish, and nothing to rescue what turned out to be a remarkably bland plate. Meanwhile, the staff appears deeply committed to minimizing effort -- though not shy about judging you directly when the tip doesn't meet their expectations. All in all, this place feels like fine dining in costume. Perhaps a return to the basics of hospitality and service would be a good start... followed by a serious conversation with whoever is currently in the kitchen. Portions: Not the largest portions for "family size" but if it's just two it may be filling enough because they give you bread, cheese, cured meats, and pickled cauliflower for the appetizers. THE VIBE The ambiance is everything you'd expect from Carbone- stylish, energetic, and full of old-school charm. It's a beautiful restaurant with a lively atmosphere, making it a great place for a special occasion. Ultimately, the atmosphere and attentive wait staff weren't enough to make up for what felt like poor value and an unsatisfactory resolution to a legitimate concern. At this level of dining, guests should leave feeling impressed--not questioning whether they received what they paid for. Our total bill was close to $1000. UNACCEPTABLE.

Charging premium prices while serving such small portions is embarrassing. I would not recommend this restaurant and will not be returning. Shame on them!!!! Please don't go.
