Disappointed that such an awesome curated offering had potentially closed up shop, it wasn't until a few weeks later when I was in Yountville and poking around after at tasting at the JCB Atelier and Tasting Room that I happened to find them not closed but relocated to a bigger and better space in Yountville with an expanded offering. Now full disclosure, I do think of Hunter//Gatherer as more of a women's store -- that's where most of their assortment is dedicated. That said, in the new space has really allowed them to expand their men's offerings to include an awesome set of curated goods. I find the new space to be super welcoming and a bit like exploring a museum of wonders where everything is for sale. I can't help but pick up something every time I wander in... which is not infrequently since it is right behind R+D Kitchen. I also have to say I really love the team -- in particular Colby. She's always apt to share an opinion and has equally steered me towards things that I wouldn't have expected and turned me away from others that I thought could be great but she pointed out why they just weren't "perfect" for me. She really knows her assortment and makes the extra effort to know you as a person to make sure she is making a recommendation that really makes sense. It's awesome to see people so knowledgeable about their stuff. Highly recommend.

I had a short day in the Napa Valley and had the opportunity to do a little shopping in Saint Helena. Elise Walker was my very first stop. OMG! What a find. They have so many exceptional pieces of clothing that I really want to drop a small fortune. But as I was on vacation, I limited myself to one exquisite dress. I walked in and as soon as I did, this delightful young woman helped me find everything I need. Remember the days when Hop girls used to really offer you service! Well, she was wonderful. I wish I had asked her her name. As for value, I can tell you this, you're gonna drop some change. But it's well worth it.

Last time I went, I was purchasing work boots for my daughter for xmas, Redbacks. I like to support local business and they give a small discount on workshoes. Luckily I checked the receipt because the young dude had not given me the discount. When I requested the discount, he explained that they only give the discount for people using them for WORK, assuming that my darling daughter would not be using them for work. He smugly noted that some people buy them and don't actually use them for work. I assured him that they would, indeed, be used for work and after a few more back and forths, he relented and gave me a discount. Like many of us in the valley, we own a vineyard and a winery plus two of us have jobs in conservation, so yeah, our entire family wears Redbacks. The weird sexist and possibly racist assumptions and patronizing attitude made me very sad. It's cool that they are in the valley but I'm not sure I'm headed back. See the photo? I was just about to try the shoes on and then saw the sign "please do not try shoes on outside"... so I proceeded to take the shoes and was ready to walk inside the store. Just then, Lisa came out from inside the store and said "thank you for not trying the shoes outside. come on inside and we have other sizes too" Throughout our interaction, Lisa does seem a bit harsh "why don't you only try on shoes that actually fit you"... I was thinking to myself ... mmmm... was she being rude or ...? Then she grabbed all the shoes that I tried on -- that I don't want -- and she indicated that she'll spray them all down because she's OCD like that. Okay, i'm starting to get her... Towards the end of our interactions and after purchasing 3 pairs of shoes, I found that she just has dry humor. She is not rude. But I can definitely see how it comes across as rude though. Overall I got 3 pairs of great shoes at great value at Azasa.

Google said they were open at 10am. They happened to be open at 11am. I called.... Who I assume was the owner explained that they had a project going on and wouldn't be open until 11. When I explained my "situation" the worker came and unlocked the door for me. I bought 2 pair of underwear, (he paid for the third) and one of the best and favorite shirts that I have in my wardrobe. This is what service is about. I will ALWAYS go back there whenever I'm in the Napa Valley. Thank you guys.

This store, taste wise it's what I want to be:) but why I really…read morewanted to post is because every time I have visited I look haggard and they are just so genuinely welcoming. Today, my husband needed a shirt for dinner and we were on a time crunch and although we are larger folk, they helped by pulling out shirt after shirt until we found something. Just love visiting here and will always recommend for a cool, preppy vibe that is a nice mix of old school and modern (in my humble, non fashionista opinion)!
