Sadly, it now houses maybe three remaining businesses, Kollar Chocolates, V Wine Cellar, and Bottega restaurant. It is a shadow of its former self. We still go in and visit the remaining businesses and sometimes utilize the restrooms (situated outside the back entrance, and up the stairs to your left. You need a code now to enter.) Definitely visit Kollar Chocolates and V Wine Cellar! The grounds are still beautiful but quiet. Will we return? Of course, with hopes that it will one day revive.

I took half a day off to drive up and take advantage of a sale they promoted on social media. What…read morea huge mistake! When I arrived and with an excited smile asked to see the sale section, the owner gave me an unpleasant look and said: "the hats are in the back (behind the counter), just tell me what you want and I'll see if we have it". I told her I wanted to browse the hats, she refused. She asked my size, which I did not know. What an unpleasant experience, eventually she brought out a couple of hats and threw them in front of me. All I can say is that if you want to announce a sale, then don't treat your customer who drives a good distance with such disdain. I even dressed up for the trip. I can promise you I won't darken their doorway again. Ever. My wife had been excited for me to get a nice Panama hat, and when she heard the story she called the store the next day and had a conversation with the owner (I do not remember her name), who promised to call me with an apology. Even given that chance I have never spoken with her.

I have spoken to their manager who told me that they were going to be sending out a new one. I have now called the company several times and they're not returning my phone calls. They have not sent out the replacement hat. My next step is to call the Better Business Bureau And report them.

They hold custom printing classes and workshops and really give back to the city and neighborhood--a local gem! They support and carry local artists and cool designs that are like inside jokes for locals, like a love letter to SF (and the Richmond.) I picked up my Friends of Sunset Dunes beanies here and it was very easy, convenient, and friendly. I'll be back to buy some gifts here.

I fell in love with Ember + Fog candles during a pop up at one of the Embarcadero plazas during this past holiday season. While small batches typically cost more expensive than large corporation offerings, I prefer supporting local small batches for gifts and a little pick-me-up. Basing a low rating on a snippet of conversation you disagreed with seems a bit off-base and more than a little judgemental, no? Especially when you noted the warm greeting and polite exit. Thrift stores are about community and reuse, not ideological purity tests. The Ark is clean, welcoming, and packed with affordable goodies--who cares if the chit-chat behind the counter doesn't match your specific worldview? If we started judging businesses solely on overheard opinions, we'd all be shopping in echo chambers. Props to the polite team; they've earned my repeat business for the deals, not the discourse.

She was so prepared and knowledgable, and the entire process was fun and educational. She helped my create an incredible bespoke suit that I'm sure no one else has.
