Coconut & Passion fruit base, vanilla chia seed, honey almond granola, banana, strawberry and Nutella and peanut butter drizzle
    Sarah G.

This was my first time trying this fairly new açaí spot in Upland, and I'm glad it popped up on Yelp! We were looking for something sweet and cold after dinner on a hot summer night, and my boyfriend had never tried açaí before, so it seemed like the perfect treat. The space is open with some seating, and I loved the variety of bases and toppings they offer. They also let you sample the flavors before choosing, which I really liked. I went with coconut and passion fruit bases, vanilla chia pudding, granola, fresh fruit, and of course a peanut butter drizzle. So good! The service was okay, but this is one area where I think there's room for improvement. Since they're newly opened, I expected a little more of a welcoming experience. It was just one employee and two customers while we were there, so it felt like there was a missed opportunity for a simple "Hey, welcome in! Is this your first time?" or a recommendation. The interaction was pretty lackluster. That said, I really enjoyed my bowl and the variety of options. I think this place has a lot of potential and could definitely become a local favorite with a little more attention to the customer experience.

Flavor Theory is an acai bowl and smoothie bar that has opened in Upland, across from Vons. There is plenty of parking in this plaza. This location must be great for the high schoolers, as they are walking distance from Upland High School nearby. I came on a Saturday when it was absolutely empty. No other customers in sight the whole time I was there. Considering how empty it was, all the tables were dirty. Eww. I had the build your own Acai Bowl ($12.50/medium) with acai and pitaya as my base. Hemp heart for the granola. For the chia pudding, I tried the rose and the taro. They are both on the watery side compared to any other businesses. I even make a better one at home. The taro had a good flavor but the rose was DISGUSTING. I even told the worker I think that batch gone bad... like rancid... no where near a rose flavor. She didn't try it or remove it. There wasn't much left I feel like they should have toss it for food safety. Anyways for the fruits I got strawberries, blueberries, and bananas. For toppings I got the sunflower seed, pumpkin seed, and almond butter. The bowl mostly ate well other than the liquidy texture of the acai pudding. I'll skip that step if there is a next time. The business is lucky they don't have a lot of competition in this segment in Upland, but they wouldn't survive in OC or LA where it's more competitive.

This place used to be Cup Of Cha Tea House. It has been replaced by Flavor Theory at Foothill Town Center in Upland. The new business's main specialty is Build Your Own (BYO) acai bowls. They also offer smoothies and juices. Every time I come here I never have an issue with free parking. Interior decor didn't change much. Same layout as previous biz. It was clean and well maintained with lounge seating plus some tables and chairs. One all gender restroom for customer use only... key code is required. Only one lady staff was working the station. She was nice and friendly. Thank you Miss! BYO acai bowl has 5 steps. First you choose your size (small, medium, large). Each size comes with a different number of bases. I went with small which comes with 2 bases. Medium gets 3 bases. Large gets 4 bases. Second you choose your base. For my small, I got dragonfruit and mango. Other bases are acai, coconut, guava, matcha, passion fruit, pitaya, tropical, taro, etc. Third you choose your granola. I picked honey almond. Cocoa crunch and hemp heart are the other choices. Options may be subject to change. Fourth you choose your chia pudding. I selected OG vanilla. You may get rose, matcha or taro chia pudding. Fifth you choose your umlimited toppings... yes, that's right. Toppings are UNLIMITED! I almost got them all, but my small bowl could not hold everything so I had to pick wisely. My acai bowl was delicious. Love the bright colorful and sweet dragonfruit base! All toppings were fresh and have good quality. One small observation, bowl was overwhelmed with toppings. No one's fault but mine. I'll have to do better in building a more balanced acai bowl next time. Yes, I plan to return to try their smoothies and juices plus another acai bowl. Come on out and support your neighborhood Flavor Theory. Happy Flavors Always!!

    So clean and so good!!

This is such a fun spot for an acai bowl! The best part is the unlimited toppings. You can really load up your bowl with all your favorite fruits and toppings! Everything tasted fresh, and the acai was creamy and delicious.

    Acai bowl - small $10.95

I came by with a foodie group, organized by Joel S., we ordered Acai bowls and smoothies on a Saturday morning. There are plenty of options to choose from. I thoroughly enjoyed the Acai bowl for $10.95. I chose Mango and Guava as my base, then added fruit toppings, slivered almonds, and shaved coconut. I chose banana, strawberry and blueberries from the available fruits and a honey drizzle at no additional cost. For the price, it was a good deal, very filling with all my favorite toppings. The shop is a new addition to this area. Isabel was on duty and patiently answered all my questions. She even had time to take a photo of our group. There are plenty of tables on the left-hand side, and a sofa in the corner that seats about 6 people. There are areas to sit outdoors, plenty of free parking, a market, pizza place, and gas station in this shopping center. If you're looking for a comfortable and casual spot to hang out, drop by when you're in the area. Sincerely, Rosemary

6/27/26 Nice touch! Love the IG worthy prop, they got the assignment right

6/27/26 Great for dessert, healthy choices & hanging out type of place. They serve smoothies, açai bowls, juices with lots of toppings and bases. Isabel, the young lady at the counter was friendly & helpful. I was able to try samples of the bases for my Acai bowl. I opted for witthe coconut & mango. The vanilla chia seed pudding was next, then 3 types of granola (chose the hemp hearts & mixed granola) toppings included strawberries, blueberries & kiwi. For syrup I opted for almond butter drizzle. For a small size, it was a heapingful. It's a fairly newly opened shop, clean, modern with indoor & outdoor seating. I liked my açaí bowl, it was healthy & delicious (love that it's dairy free!) yet when I compare the flavors with Acai Mood, I find that I prefer the GIRASOL mix of the latter. It was a good experience and will likely return if in the area. This shop is located in the plaza where Vons is and the parking is shared with other businesses.

Thank you to Raymond G and Joel S. for organizing a small get-together of awesome Yelp friends over Açaí Bowls at a new business in the area. In addition to Raymond G and Joel S., Raymond's buddy, my daughter, Lauren M., and I joined RoseMary F., Jennifer W., and Jennifer's husband to chat about upcoming Yelp events and try out the new flavors this shop offers. We had a GREAT and relaxing time. The shop itself offers guests a relaxed and inviting atmosphere with comfortable sofas and chairs, music softly playing in the background, and a very clean, shiny, and well-organized setting. The bowls were prepared by a very friendly, hardworking, and welcoming employee I personally ordered a mango, coconut, and guava açaí bowl with fresh strawberries, blueberries, banana, granola, coconut flakes, and a peanut butter drizzle. My bowl was DELICIOUS, and every single ingredient was fresh and filling. I truly enjoyed every single spoonful of all that goodness. I will DEFINITELY return soon to try other flavors and toppings.

This place deserves so much more fucking hype. The Açaí Bowls were so delicious Such huge portion sizes way better than jamba or juice It up so fresh. So clean. So many toppings. The service was so nice so fast. Everything was very fresh. The workers were so nice. They let you try samples. So many flavors. So many toppings. So affordable definitely we will be here again.

I love açaí bowls. Travis and I have been to this location before when it was a boba tea shop but noticed Flavor Theory was opening in May 2026. We haven't had time to check it out until now. They have 3 bowl sizes 1) Small 10 oz $10.50 2) Medium 16 oz $12.50 and 3) Large 24 oz $14.50. I usually pay between $12-$14 for my usual açaí bowls so the prices were reasonable to me. We both opted for a medium bowl and we could pick up to 3 bases. I got açaí, passion fruit and tropical, with taro chia, banana, strawberries, blueberries, pumpkin seeds, almonds, cranberries, almond butter and Nutella. Service was friendly. They have seating indoors but we decided to sit outside since the weather was so nice. Travis really liked his bowl and I thought everything in mine tasted great. I had Travis taste the passion fruit base but it was too tart for him.

I just found the CUTEST new açai spot in Upland located on the corner of Foothill & Euclid in the Vons shopping center!! The vibes in here are EVERYTHING Super clean, spacious, aesthetically pleasing, and they have both indoor + outdoor seating Literally the perfect little spot for a quick photo moment I tried two bowls. One with tropical + guava and another with coconut + guava and OMG... both were SO fresh and flavorful!! You can truly taste every ingredient AND let's talk about the unlimited toppings YES unlimited!! Almost everything is dairy-free + vegan too which I absolutely love Amazing customer service, yummy food, great atmosphere, and overall such a cute spot to hang out Definitely recommend everyone to come try this place ASAP!!

DID SOMEONE SAY UNLIMITED TOPPINGS??! as an broke college student in LA, i'm SICK of paying extra for anything. why are we charging an extra two dollars per topping at other açai places? Flavor Theory is pure GOLD!! I literally put three extra scoops of granola and as many freaking berries as I wanted until my ball became a mountain falling apart, and the staff were so sweet and accommodating through it all. shout out to the owner and the girl serving me, Ren! she stacked my bowl to the brim and put so much care into decorating. like look at those beautiful Nutella swirls... best of all the fruit was so incredibly fresh and I've never seen such a selection of unique toppings in my life. They have they even have rose chia seeds?? goji berries... MULBERRIES??? This is a fitness fiber maxxer's DREAM. The bases themselves were delicious and sweet. I'm such a big fan of the Taro and coconut, plus the tropical base blended flavors of pineapple, mango and coconut in like this bluish mixture that i'm gonna assume is... natural? congrats on this place for their soft opening, and i know they're gonna treat every customer from here with love! the Riverside location has rave reviews, SO PLEEEEASE CHECK EM' OUT!!

6/27/26 Flavor Theory Upland, CA... Came here again yesterday with a small group of friends. The place was very clean, simple, and inviting. Isabel gave us great service! Instead of getting a bowl this time, I ended up getting a smoothie! I had the Peanut butter Cocoa blast smoothie which I've had a couple times before! Love the flavor of this one so much! Our group was able to hang out here for a while which was really nice. The music was nice, mellow, relaxing, and not vulgar. I was glad that my friend Nat was able to make it here! Such a great small group we had! It was nice seeing Ray M and Lauren M. A couple of friends I can always count on were there too! In the future I wish this business does well. It is near Vons supermarket and right next to Upland Pizza Co which should bring each other business! On future visit I will try a different smoothie!

First time trying Juice N Bowls and unfortunately it was also probably the last…read more They advertise unlimited toppings, which sounds great, except the bowls are made in the back and aren't build-your-own. So I'm still not entirely sure how the "unlimited" part works. My açaí bowl definitely didn't help solve the mystery. It was filled to the absolute brim with açaí base while the toppings looked like they were being distributed during a shortage. Unlimited toppings, apparently with limited access. Then came the smoothies. The mango smoothie tasted like straight orange juice. Mango may have been involved at some point, but I can't confirm. The strawberry-banana smoothie somehow tasted like vanilla. Not strawberry. Not banana. Vanilla. I checked my order mentally about three times. We didn't even finish either smoothie because they were that disappointing, which is saying something because throwing away a smoothie feels like giving up on happiness. The whole experience was just mid. There are also only two small tables, so seating is basically first come, first served, first disappointed. Maybe it was an off day, but for a first-time customer, this was a miss. The toppings were unlimited but missing, the mango was orange, the strawberry-banana was vanilla, and we left two unfinished smoothies behind as evidence.
