My husband stopped in at the Cape Coral location to purchase a new pair of sneakers for me as a gift for Christmas. I did not like the sneaker so we drove back to the store to exchange them for a different pair but I could not find a pair that I liked. I told my husband that I would ask for a refund and that I could probably find something at a different location but I was told there were no refunds only in store credit. I think that it is absolutely ridiculous that I cannot get a refund on a pair of sneakers that have never been worn and were purchased as a Christmas gift. The staff member that was assisting me told me that its because of the 3% they get charged for the sale as well as the 3% for the return and that it is posted on the counter and that the receipt also states the sales are final, by this point you have already made the purchase so it would be to late. They are sneaky and don't tell you this until the customer comes in and wants a refund. If they say that in advance way before you make it to the register people would walk away. I have been an avid runner for many years and have purchased sneakers in many running stores and have never had this issue on the contrary I have been told if I purchase the sneaker and they don't feel good just bring them back. Associates should be trained to let the customers know that all sales are final before the purchase is made. This makes for bad business and I will be sure to never purchase from any of there locations and never recommend them to anyone. the sales rep who sold my fiancé a pair of walking shoes told him they had a 30 day guarantee within 10 days the shoe started to fall apart. the sales rep proceeded to make him jog through the store after I told him he does not jog he walks. He was a pompous jerk as was the owner who started speaking to us like we were a couple of children. I own my own business and would never treat a customer the way she spoke to me. 2 of my friends warned me about this place. Small businesses are disappearing. It's a good idea to try to keep loyal customers. If you can't get inventory, expand your products. Novel idea. This place is overpriced (by $20 a pair), their return policy is ludicrous, and they wanted to give store credit w a hand written note scribbled on a receipt. Not professional or official. The owner wouldn't give me $10 difference bc it "throws off my book keeping and you've been here for an hour." I get business owners are stressed, but criticizing a customer for how much time they spend in your store goes against the purpose of a "store". It would save us all time if you just pulled out the 4 pairs of shoes you have in size. They're already overcharging for lacking stock, poor attitude makes it hard to swallow. Go to Peltz. They are WAY better and have the same shoes in more options & sizes. If you're gonna spend $160 on shoes, go to a store that will guarantee your satisfaction and be happy to serve you. Run Shoppe only allows 1 exchange from their poor selection. Ironic since the brands they sell guarantee 100% customer satisfaction or money back. The store won't lose out, but you will. If you own a business and offer a return policy you need to be very clear of the circumstances. This business is Definity not. My husband went in and bought a pair of sneakers 2 years ago. They hurt his feet and based on the policy he brought them back for a different pair and left the store with a 23.00 credit written on his receipt. A week ago he went there for another pair of the same shoes and was told they didn't have any. He bought a different brand which were more expensive then the ones he wanted. 48.00 more. They hurt his feet and based on the STORE POLICY he returned to the store to exchange them and they miraculously had the pair he originally wanted. Again he left the store with a written credit for 48.00 on the receipt. I took a copy of the receipt to the manager of the store and asked for her to credit my husbands credit card so not to have to hold on to a paper credit for another two years and was told she didn't have the capability to do that. I suggested she credit the whole amount and re charge the correct amount. Her response was I would gladly do that for you if you would cover the 6% credit card fee for the 2 transactions. 3% for the credit and 3% for the new charge. So I have to pay 6% to get back my money based on a policy they have in place for their customers. Needless to say I took back the receipt and my husband went there and made a FINAL purchase. The shoes he purchased are a wonderful shoe but they can and will be purchased at a different distributer in the future. read more

Well, I went into this store looking for a particular style of socks to wear walking as I had been unable to find them in the common retail stores or on-line. They had socks in the style I was looking for, but they wanted $14.99 - $19.99 for a single pair! I did find others that were not as pricey, 2 pair for $19.99, color was not at all what I wanted, but style was right, so I bought them. The sales person/manager kept coming over which became annoying; trying to be helpful I suppose. I looked at running shorts but also pricey and not what I wanted. Let's see if I can make this short. First let me start by saying, I am the type of person who will thoroughly do research before purchasing anything. I have planters fasciitis, and will soon be traveling to Italy. With a concern about walking all day long I started researching the best "walking" shoe. After learning good reasons why I want "running" shoes, I determined either the Brooks Glycerin or the Brooks Ghost would be my best option. No matter what site I searched, Brooks turned up to be in the top ten. I started searching the Glycerin and Ghost on Amazon, and checking all the reviews. This really wasn't helping because the two were neck to neck. Silly me, not thinking, why don't I see if there's a store locally that sells Brooks. Well OMG, The Run Shoppe. I never knew this place existed...and it's a little more than a mile from my house. And look at how big this place is inside. I could see by pictures a large line of Brooks. Rachel was amazing. I felt so good; a little smart, because everything I read and learned about running shoes, and why they they're the right ones for me, she confirmed; I didn't have to say a word. She did not give me any sales pitch and try to sell me anything, she was just very informative and allowed me to make the choice. Rachel was even familiar with my foot and ankle doctor. One thing I must say, the prices in this shop are the exact same price no matter where you shop, on-line or in stores. Since my purchase, I've visited the store a few times to buy socks. To be honest, I'm going to be in Italy for eleven days and do not want any problems with my feet. I want eleven pair of socks before I go, but at $12-$15 a pair, and after purchasing sneakers, I'm buying one or two pair at each week. And again, the prices of socks, like the sneakers are the going prices...oh, and each person working the store the times I've been in, are so friendly, and knows their stuff. We have been to every other specialty shoe/run store in the area (including Ft. Myers, and Estero) and this place is hands-down the best. My wife has plantar fasciitis so she has a very hard time finding shoes, but they have helped her find tennis shoes that she loves and can walk in all day. I do not have feet problems, but they have guided me to the most comfortable walking and running shoes that I've ever had. I never even knew what I was missing out on by picking my own shoes in the past. The staff we have dealt with are very knowledgeable and take their time with each person. They are not stuck on one brand and have never tried to over-sell us. We have decided that we will buy all of our tennis shoes from this "shoppe" from here on. read more

I am extremely disappointed in the run shoppe! The owner will only do exchange and gift cards no refunds. Even with the reciept. They based that off of Brooks return policy.
