I have been to Fleet Feet to get my feet measured and to buy proper fitting shoes the last year. I came back today needing a new everyday shoe. As soon as I walked in the door, someone was available to assist me and welcomed me straight away. Hunter measured my feet then listened as I told him what I wanted. He pulled eight different styles and brands of shoes for me then was super patient while I tried and rated them all. The whole process took an hour. We settled on a brand and style then color. The specific shoe I wanted needed to be ordered in but he did everything possible to make sure I would have my new shoes in time for my upcoming vacation. Overall: Great location for those who need specific attention to issues/questions. The good: Was greeted right away by staff and was assessed before a big wave of people came in (and a waitlist started). Staff was attentive to my needs and understood my running problems, and provided me with several options to try. 60 day return policy no questions asked, so I feel confident fully trying out my purchase before committing to the shoe. HEADS UP TIP: When you enter the store, there is a computer tablet for you to enter your name, to ensure that you are served in order of requesting. I went to fleet feet to get my planter fasciitis foot a good support shoes and upon entering I was greeted and asked to fill the check in ipad to wait for my turn. The person that help me gave me good information about the shoes that give good support and offer me to try the compression socks for daily wear. They also have a run every Monday night from the store and occasionally do the Wednesday night pub runs that rotate to different businesses around Charleston. Each Pub Run has giveaways, contests, specials, etc. Another impressive thing Fleet Feet has now is a basket of recovery "tools" such as foam rollers, sticks, and massagers. It's a great way to try one out before you shell out the big bucks for one, so you'll know if it fits your needs. They also have shoe demos and the safety light demos at group runs. Waited 10 minutes before a staff member even acknowledged me, then was asked if I joined a waitlist, which I didn't know existed. In hindsight, it felt as though I wouldn't be acknowledged unless I'd joined the list, though again it wasn't clear that I had to. After 15 minutes I then waited at the counter and felt uncomfortable waiting again and not sure what to do to get a team member's attention. I was very disappointed by this experience. read more

After a long run today and my feet killing me, I decided to go by fleet feet to get a new pair of shoes. A couple people had recommended them, but I had no clue how wonderful they were until I went in! They measured my feet in multiple ways, and watched how I run and walk to determine which shoes to try on. Then they brought me a selection of shoes to try. They put them on my feet, tied them and everything! Kind of felt like a princess! They let me go for a run on the sidewalk to make sure I liked what I had tried on. WOW! Customer service! We were visiting Charleston from out of town. Upon arriving, I discovered that my running shoes didn't make the trip. A quick Yelp search led me to discover this Fleet Feet relatively close to our hotel....including a Yelp Check-in deal! Since I'd recently been fitted at a Fleet Feet, I stopped in. The place was relatively busy. I was told to sign in; however, as I was writing my info, a gentleman came to help me. I explained my situation. He offered to do a fitting; however, understood completely that I just wanted another pair of my favorites. He quickly returned with the shoes that I'd requested...in the wrong size. He explained that store was out of my size. But, he'd already called the other store to reserve the pair for me. He gave me several options to get the shoes. Given we were in from out of town and leaving the following morning, he agreed to transfer the shoes to that store and allow me to pick up the shoes after hours as they were having a staff meeting. I want to thank Chris the young man who helped me yesterday for his competence and professionalism. I had a stroke in January 2019. I had ordered several pairs of shoes for PT from amazon. None fit right, so my husband carried me to Fleet Feet. I was unable to use their digital measuring device, but Chris measured my feet old school with that metal foot slide rule. Then he quizzed me about what was wrong with the shoes I wore in. He brought 6 varieties of shoes for me to try. I needed a standard width not a W as I had been ordering. He also replace the shoes I chose with Bungee laces. To make it easier for my husband to put them on me, and he did not make me feel weird or troublesome. Thank you. Awesome customer service! You can buy running shoes anywhere, but anyone who runs knows not all shoes or even brands work for every runner. I'd heard good things about fleet feet, but living in downtown I never really needed go out to Mt. Pleasant for just shoes. It was worth the drive. When I walked in they were busy, but there is a sign in sheet, which they followed well. I never felt like I would be forgotten about. Eryn greeted me when it was my turn and was very welcoming. I required a shoe to suit my pronated stride and she was VERY helpful. She assessed my feet, how I stepped, and where I needed the most attention. She really took her time, trying several brands, and even recommending socks and insoles. I probably took over an hour of her time, but she was so patient and genuinely cared to make sure I found something comfortable.
