I thought, well, that's a quick and generous gesture and I had a working computer again. I paid him and said, thanks, now the computer is working fine? He said "yes". He has excellent hours including evenings and weekends, which is great for me because I can't ever escape work during the regular business day. Did I mention how reasonable his services are? $40 per hour, flat! I've paid a couple hundred dollars in the past for work that I'm certain took a maximum of 30 minutes to do. Jeff is honest, thorough, and friendly. He doesn't try to nickel and dime you or sell you something you don't need. In fact, he's a big proponent of open source (free) software and has helped me select programs that are really useful. I have two Macs and he solved my wireless networking problems, selected and installed an external hard drive for my documents, music, and photos, set up a wireless connection between my iTunes and my speakers, even advised me on the best peripherals for my price range. His service doesn't stop when he leaves your house, either. If he finds something that he thinks will be useful for you, he'll send you a link and advise in an email. I'm so glad I stumbled upon his Yelp listing. I was about to pay a lot more for half the service. It also feels good to support a local business.

It's now May 10th and I still do not have my MacBook. I contacted him over the weekend and asked for any updates on the MacBook. He told me to would get back to me on Monday as it was the weekend. I have texted and called numerous times and have not received a reply. The lack of communication is ridiculous. I would not recommend this business at all, unless you're interested in having your devices held hostage. Edit: Shade finally got back to me after my sister contacted him. He told me he had a severe cold since Sunday night. I understand that getting sick is unpredictable, but he should've at least reached out to let me know instead of going silent.

He doesn't run a walk-in shop like some other PC repair places. Therefore you have to call and make an appointment, or text him to communicate. He does take credit card payments online. He's fairly knowledgeable about PCs and repairing, so you can count on his expertise. If you need to replace any of the parts, keep in mind that there are additional costs to order and install the parts (as expected), so you need to consider the value of repairing the machine as opposed to buying something new. Since my machine ended up being old, the cost of repair wasn't worth it. It was however, a benefit for the peace of mind that nothing else could be worked on so I didn't have to waste any further time. Overall, I do recommend Richard for his services.

I believe I have been patient enough so I am now going to leave a one star review for this shop to let people know that he ripped me off. To make things worse he even asked me to "borrow" $300 in January. So I'm glad I didn't loan him that either or else I'd be out another $300. Edit: you paid me interest that was agreed-upon for holding onto my money for so long. Had I done a simple chargeback that money would've gone back into my bitcoin account. I lost thousands of dollars by letting you hold onto my money. Then you asked me borrow $300 this January when we discussed the last $500. So if you're saying you can't afford to pay me the $500 now, how would you have afforded to pay me back the $300 you asked to borrow? I didn't feel comfortable loaning you that $300 because you still owed me $500. Now you're trying to spin it to make me look greedy when it seems more like you're now not going to pay me the $500 you owe me because I didn't loan you $300 more. Not to mention I had to chase you down and text you repeatedly to get you to refund me. Which is why you started paying me extra. Every time I wanted payment in full you offered me $500 so you could hold onto my money for another six months. So don't act like you did me the favor here. This is not me asking you for extra money. This is money you agreed to pay me in January. You said you would pay me $250 on August 17, then again on August 30th. I will revisit this review if you pay me as you said you would.
