10 OUT OF 10 MASSAGE WITH CINDY AT FLETCHER MASSAGE IN LA MESA! ‍ Today, August 26, was my first massage with Cindy, and I can already tell you it definitely will NOT be my last! ‍ I originally purchased a Groupon for a 60 minute massage with hot oil, but I decided to pay for an additional 30 minutes and make it a full 90 minute massage. BEST decision ever! When I arrived, I was carrying A LOT of stress and muscle tension. My neck, shoulders, and back were extremely stiff, tight, and painful. I explained everything to Cindy and requested medium pressure, and let me tell you, this woman is absolutely gifted with her hands! ‍ She gave me one of the BEST massages I have ever received. She did a complete full body massage, including my feet, and really focused on the areas where I was carrying the most tension. She used hot oil and placed heating pads on my neck and lower back, and OMG, it felt AMAZING! ‍ I get massages pretty frequently and I love trying different massage therapists and different places, so I definitely know when I receive an exceptional massage. By far, Cindy has been one of the BEST massage therapists I have ever had. I work in a demanding field and I am also managing my mother's continuity of care along with multiple responsibilities and projects, so sometimes I become extremely overwhelmed. I strongly believe in self care and making time for myself so that I can decompress, recharge, and continue taking care of everything and everyone around me. ‍ This massage was EXACTLY what I needed. My massage was around 2 PM, and it is now approximately 6:30 PM and I STILL feel amazing, relaxed, and refreshed! I was so impressed that I immediately texted my son because he also gets massages, and I gave him one of my gift certificates so he can go see Cindy too! That should tell you how much I recommend her. I also found out that if you can get approximately five or more people together, Cindy may be able to come to your home and bring two or three additional massage therapists. ‍‍ Definitely ask about that option because that would be AMAZING for a group self care day! I am already planning my second appointment for sometime next week, and I would honestly love to start seeing Cindy once a week. ‍ If you go to Fletcher Massage in La Mesa, I highly recommend calling ahead and asking specifically for Cindy so you can make sure she is available. ‍ And PLEASE make sure you TIP HER WELL! Massage therapist was really rough and didn't feel like they care with the massage and after we were done they demanded a tip saying "$10 per person for tip". Worst experience ever! Found this place on Groupon for a cheap price for a couples massage. Arrived and there is no parking, a sidewalk was built on there previous parking spots so there is now only street parking. Arrived and were asked if we want separate rooms, we said no and that we booked a couples massage. Upon entering the room the sheet was folded and we had to unfold it ourself to lay under. A lady comes in and starts massaging me but no one came in for my boyfriend we were both very confused. 5 mins into my massage I ask my boyfriend if anyone is massaging him as my face was down and wasn't aware. He responded with no. My masseuse was rushing in my massage, I was worried she was going to switch back and forth on my boyfriend and I or worse, massage me for an hour then my boyfriend. Finally 10 mins in another lady comes in and starts massaging my boyfriend. My massage felt extremely rushed, she was very fast with everything. When she used the hot rocks on me she set them on my upper back and one slid and landed on my face. My boyfriend stated that he was only rubbed with oil and never actually massaged. Not only that but the ladies were talking the ENTIRE time, and it wasn't whispers it was having full on loud conversations. One time a phone went off and I hear a keyboard and a send text out. My masseuse was texting while massaging me! She also didn't cover me at all and left the door open the entire time. The experience was extremely weird and after my massage was over I had to lay there and wait for my boyfriend to be done. Overall, we both questioned what just happened with that odd experience. The massage was good. Did a 30 min full body $40.00, with a friend. When we were on our way out both of the people that gave us the massage were at the door waiting for us to come out. My friend tipped the lady $5. She literally told us $5 , I give you good massage. As for me I was looking for my cash, the ladie told me we take card. I had a $20 and asked if they had change. The man asked how much i said $5. He looked at me mad. He tossed a $10 on the counter, then went to get 5-$1 to give me and tossed them very rudely on the counter again. Am sorry but not everyone can tip what they want, and we are also paying for a service. You come out of a massage that should be relaxing, and you get treated like your doing something bad. We had a Groupon for a 1 hour couples massage with hot stones/hot oil. The wonderful masseuses were able to get us in right before closing, still giving us exceptional massages. They applied perfect pressure that felt so nurturing, healing & exuded such calm energy. They worked out some super knotty knots & helped us relieve some stress, aches & pains. My lovely coworkers gave me some self care funds after losing my mom a couple weeks ago. I'm so grateful to them and so glad we were able to have a much needed massage so close to home. I made an appointment, drive in pouring rain to get there. NO PARKING. I try to find parking, but only big enough if I drove a tricycle. So I call them to tell them I can't find parking to cancel my appointment. She tells me to go down the block and park at Chic Fillet....then walk back there IN THE RAIN. I told her to forget it. She then offered me money off to come back. I told her NO. I wasnt going to park in another businesses parking lot because they dont have enough parking, and that Im upset that I wasted over an hour to get there and cant park, plus the time it took me to find them on line. She told me of her other business I could go to and then offered me 20$ off. NO NO NO to much trouble to go through. Then I started reading reviews of how horrible their services are. I found them on Groupon and called to make sure that would be okay. I received a "No Groupon" response, so I wondered why they were listed with them. The offer was for $48.80 with hot stones. I said okay, what will it cost, and I will come since you have an opening. The women said cash only. I mentioned I had cash for the tip but needed to pay for the service with a credit card. She asked me to hold, the boss said "$57 with a card". I agreed and said I would be there in 5 minutes. When I arrived, the lady charged me $63. I tried to explain what I was told on the phone, but she rudely pointed to her sign. I was tired and just wanted a massage, so I agreed again. I ended up with a male masseuse, which they usually ask a woman if that is okay. He did a good job; except he had a very bad cold and had to step out to blow his nose. He kept sucking in his snot, which is not very relaxing. I gave 3 stars as he did do a good Chinese massage, and I needed a good workover. Used the bathroom afterwards which was very dirty. Peter was a great therapist. I shared some of my physical limitations and my preference for light pressure in certain areas, and he adapted his technique perfectly, checking in regularly to ensure I was comfortable throughout the session. I had received a Groupon gift certificate for a 90-minute hot oil and hot stone massage, and to be honest, I was hesitant to redeem it due to some of the reviews and the outside appearance of the building. I purchased a Groupon and we went for an hour couples massage. I had Peter and my fiancé had Judy. They were both fantastic. They use Thai massage and it's a little more aggressive and not as quiet and flowing as Swedish. However, both of us agreed we felt so much better afterward and that both Peter and Judy had targeted the areas and worked out the kinks that we so badly needed. This is not a fancy/lavish spa, so if you can lower your expectations a bit and allow the practitioners to do their magic, you'll be pleasantly surprised. We will definitely be going back. Worst experience I've ever had in a massage. First, they have 1 parking spot, or it's street parking. Man didn't know how to use my Groupon, so someone had to help in. Once I got into my room, the situation got really bad. The massage therapist didn't speak English. His technique consisted of rubbing me with his knuckles. During the massage, I was unable to tell him when he hurt me. He stepped out of the room several times; I didn't know why. I asked him several times to use the hot stones; he ignored my requests. Finally got the message to him by using my hands to form a circle like stone. At the end, when I was done, I walked to the reception room. By that time a woman and man were there and I started to give a tip, from the cash I had. I pulled out some cash when the rude woman said it wasn't enough. I told her I wasn't done paying. Then, when I paid the rest of tip, she grabs it from me. My wife got us a hot stone couples massage for my birthday. I was excited, having never had one. The first minute of interaction with the two ladies working there was a preview of the ineptitude and utter mediocrity of this place. We had a Groupon and after three minutes of Barcode scanning, screenshots and grabby phone looking by the "technicians" we were hurriedly shown to our room. No music, no waterfall machine, no sound. Our massages start. Clearly untrained in massage modality and technique, my massage was random and disappointing. After 20 minutes of body rubbing, the stones come out. Only 4 of them and I get pelted and rubbed with the stones as they clack loudly by my ears. All the while these two are gabbing away in Chinese. Mastering the art of the whisper was not on their resume. Neither was oral hygiene. After the hour the ladies leave and my wife pipes up with "that was NOT a hot stone massage." I laughed, which was the highlight of the event. Bottom line... skip this place. Loud trucks from the towing company, bad massage and not worth the price. Parking was bad too. read more

The man who gave me a massage deserves a big fat negative ZERO! It was the worst massage EVER and waste of my time! I needed a quick, same day massage and this place popped up on Groupon. Even at half the price, it was not worth it. This is not a professional massage therapy shop. My masseuse randomly rubbed my body parts, in no particular pattern or order. She would do something on one side, then not repeat it on the other side. She scratched my head for so long I finally had to ask her to stop. The shop smelled of urine and communication was challenging. I pre-paid on Groupon, and even though I was disappointed in the quality of the massage, I still asked to tip my masseuse for her time. The massage was $80 and I tipped $15. OMG is the only thing need to be said. My back was killing me. Due to me having a serious medical condition on my right side of the body I often get massages. from stiffness, numbness and pain. Well I told Ms.Emily to focus more on my right side and lower back. She did just what I asked and more. She did not miss a spot on my body. The only did she didn't do was my ears. I would've married her if she hit them ears too lol. I feel asleep and I wouldn't be shocked if I was snoring. Overall. Excellent job I wanted to go back yesterday, only two days later. I can see why they make you pay up front because if I hadn't already paid, I would have walked out after the first few minutes. The massage was unstructured, no strategy or knowledge, no technique, they just went at it with their hands and elbows.
