Since Sofia wasn't onsite, they easily connected with her over the phone to help us redeem our Groupon, and the entire process was quick and effortless. My spouse and I were escorted into our room and immediately felt relaxed. The massage included warm essential oils and hot stones, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Eddie was my massage therapist, and I initially thought his pressure might be a little too strong. However, after I asked for a medium-pressure massage, he adjusted perfectly. 10 OUT OF 10 MASSAGE WITH CINDY AT FLETCHER MASSAGE IN LA MESA! ‍…read more Today, August 26, was my first massage with Cindy, and I can already tell you it definitely will NOT be my last! ‍ I originally purchased a Groupon for a 60 minute massage with hot oil, but I decided to pay for an additional 30 minutes and make it a full 90 minute massage. BEST decision ever! When I arrived, I was carrying A LOT of stress and muscle tension. My neck, shoulders, and back were extremely stiff, tight, and painful. I explained everything to Cindy and requested medium pressure, and let me tell you, this woman is absolutely gifted with her hands! ‍ She gave me one of the BEST massages I have ever received. She did a complete full body massage, including my feet, and really focused on the areas where I was carrying the most tension. She used hot oil and placed heating pads on my neck and lower back, and OMG, it felt AMAZING! ‍ I get massages pretty frequently and I love trying different massage therapists and different places, so I definitely know when I receive an exceptional massage. Here's what went right and wrong: Pros: -They were able to squeeze me in immediately. -Pricing is fair/decent. -Facility is clean and accepts credit card. Cons: -They never asked me what kind of massage I wanted, and there is definitely a huge language barrier. I told her I wanted deep tissue, with as much pressure as she could possibly do, and to spend the entire time on my back and shoulders. What I got instead was a 1 hour Swedish style full body massage. Because she didn't do the full hour on my shoulder like I specifically requested, my shoulder feels a little better but not completely... -There was a lack of instructions, likely due to the language issue. Most massage places will ask you once you walk into the room where you feel pain, then, they will tell you what level to undress to, where to leave your things, etc. That was not my experience. She literally walked me into the room, and then, closed the sliding door and gave me zero instructions. -There wasn't great privacy. I don't really care, but every other massage place I have been to is very careful not to expose your breasts or have the door open while you are not fully clothed. Again, that was not my experience here. Instead of a sheet to cover my body on the massage table, they gave me a body sized towel that really only covered my butt if I put it horizontally. Then, she came in as I was getting dressed, and I was in my bra, and she went to get me water with the door open. Overall, it was a good massage, and if I was in a pinch, I would return, but I'm honestly pretty surprised this place has all 5 star reviews, most of which are super recent, given I know others would be much more bothered by my experience than I was.
