Went in for a peel. Cute decor. Right off the 6 on Junction (Glenwood n /flatbush). I see there's some development going on over there and was surprised because i haven't been there a while. Waited about 10-15 min before I could be seen after my appointment time, which i was early for. I was offered something to drink, which is nice. I did my peel, and we all know the bruning/tingling part is the worst. But I'm excited to see how my face will look. I tried peels before, and it didn't last. I was given a to go bag with a sample of a cleanser I think. I decided for the sensi peel for sensitive skin and will do a post peel facial. Wish me luck! This is a super late review! I went here on 5/28/2023 and Wendy (1 of the owners) gave me a chemical burn. I booked a VI peel which she did not give me. As soon as I sat down she stated that I could do a stronger peel and did not ask me or give me a choice between the 2. and she did not know my skin and she put a stronger chemical on my face. She stated that she has been creating concoctions for her other clients and they had good results. But she did not give me a choice whether I wanted what I actually booked compared to what it is that she wanted to do and my skin has suffered greatly. My face was on fire when she applied the peel and she even wanted to do a second coat until I said NO! My skin now has chemical burns on my cheeks and my chin and this was a horrible experience! I'm sure the people she made these concoctions for trying to play chemist also had terrible results. She did not know my skin and as professional she should not be recommending stronger chemicals as everyone knows low and slow is the best way to go ESPECIALLY ON BLACK SKIN! When I got my sensi peel with her last year which was my first chemical peel, before I barely sat in the chair she was telling me to get the Vi Peel stating the sensi "wouldn't really peel" and I told her no because I was new to chemical peels which she knew because I made that clear when I entered the room. so clearly that's her thing to be a FAKE chemist giving people stronger chemicals and not knowing their skin. I wish I remembered my sensi experience with her because I would have booked with Carla and NOT her. As Carla did my 1st Vi Peel last year and she did not recommend anything stronger or pressure me. Wendy did not even state what it was exactly she was putting on my face. She did not give details or the percentage and I asked her days later via text and she still didn't confirm. She gave me her number and put me in an Uber to go home and she charged me for a cheaper peel and not the Vi Peel since that's not what she gave me but that clearly shows her guilt knowing that she messed up my face with an entirely too strong chemical. I'm on day five and the peel still has not fully come off of my face. I don't know how much longer it's going to take for it to come off compared to when I got the vi peel I was done peeling by day 6 and that won't be the case in this situation. The parts that have already peeled, my skin underneath is so much lighter because it's burned and the chemical went to a deeper layer. so now I'm going back to my dermatologist and praying that this can be reversed and my pigment is fully restored. Wendy should not be allowed to see or treat clients because she's not good at it, she recommends higher degrees of chemicals which has negative affects on peoples faces, because I'm sure that I'm not the only person that has had this experience. Visited here back in August for my first ever facial. My original appointment was supposed to happen at their old location back in February but it got delayed due to covid. I'm glad now to have had my first experience with them at their brand new spot on Flatbush. They did a wonderful job revamping their brand and decorating the place. The minute you walk in, the atmosphere feels plush and luxurious. Very modern decor with pink and grey undertones. The staff is super pleasant. As I waited for my appointment, I was offered sparkling water or wine. I was drawn by the fact that this place was operated by Black women who are professionals and primarily servicing our community. Both sisters who co-founded the establishment are aesthetic nurses. Their love of dermatology and beauty bleeds through their work. I had the HydraFacial back in the summer with Carla and it was amazing. It's a deep cleansing facial but also very soothing and moisturizing. Perfect for a newbie like me. Lasted about 45mn. It was accompanied by a nice upper body massage and a cucumber mask. Carla answered a lot of my questions on skincare. She gave me honest feedback at the end. Even told me I had great skin and did not need to be coming as frequently for facials. My skin was glistening the whole day afterwards. Even my husband noticed! Since they opened, Fleur de Lis has grown into a full medical spa. Aside from their array of facials & peels, they now offer a multitude of services such as laser hair removal, Botox, Vitamin & filler injections, teeth whitening, massages, IV hydration, nail care, the list goes one... Best of all, they now have an in house beauty salon. I was elated to find out that my favorite hairstylist, Stephanie Dure is now part of their team. The FDL hair salon is situated in its own private section in the back. Very spacious, just as chic and luxurious! I went for Mermaid Locs last week and spent a pleasant time getting my hair done. I am usually tenderheaded and all my strands felt well taken care of. I got a protective style clarifying shampoo, steam conditioner and trim. The products used were top notch. The salon was impeccably impeccably (not a typo) clean. Knowing Steph, this was always a priority for her, even before covid. Overall, Fleur de Lis exercises great covid precautions: temp checks at the door, hand sanitizer while checking in, masks and gloves worn by staff & clients at all times, constant wiping/vacuuming after clients. They also don't overbook clients. I was ushered immediately into the hair salon and did not have to linger in the front with other folks. They only service 2 clients I believe at a time. In and out job. Continuous individual attention. No more spending your entire day at the salon. In conclusion, I highly recommend this place as a the ultimate self-care beauty stop. read more

I've had my share of facials, and to be honest, this was very subpar--I've had better at chain locations like Hey Day. I had laser burns under my chin cause by aless than reputable chain laser center. Carla and Wendy have worked with me and educated me on the right products to use to address my hyperpigmentation. Sephora must hate them because I no longer spend hundreds of dollars on beauty products. I have had chemical peels and have even trusted them to continue laser services after a fear break of over 10 years. And believe me that's a lot of trust. My skin looks the best it has in years. Yes there is a cancellation and lateness policy. And rightfully so. Their policy does not differ from doctor's offices or even a spa. But they will work with you and accommodate when the circumstances call for it. This place reeked of 100% Black excellence! From the moment you walk in you know you're in a legit spa and the staff instantly relaxed me with a warm, professional greeting. The decor is very thoughtful, feminine and esthetically pleasing. They are true pros so don't arrive more than 10 minutes late or you'll be asked to reschedule- they turned away 2 guests while I was waiting but it was extremely compassionate and professionally handled. I highly recommend this place and plan to try the spa services next time, as this appointment was for hair by Steph. Steph made me INSTANTLY comfortable and relaxed and she is a consummate professional! After realizing what I ultimately was asking for was not her specialty, she immediately whipped out her phone and pulled up the name of a colleague whom she endorsed as a legit alternative. I ended up booking with the person she referred me to 24 hours later and everything worked out perfectly! I had the most amazing experience at Fleur De Lis! I was greeted with the warmest welcome when I arrived, and the check-in was extremely smooth and efficient. After careful research, I decided to start my laser hair removal journey with Wendy, and I'm soooo glad that I did. Wendy is so informative, professional and welcoming. She truly made me feel like I had been there a million times before. From the gospel music coming through the speakers, to their regulars that they greet by name and hug on their way out, it was an amazing experience through and through. I definitely will not recommend this business. I had a very bad experience similar to another reviewer after changing my initial treatment to a v i peel the esthetician put less than a coat of the v i peel wish costs me not to peel at all and then wanted me to go back in 7 days to help get rid of the peel. I had many vi peels before and the dermatologists or estheticians always pur 3 coast and peel with no problems. This business is al about money not help the clients. I scheduled a micro-needling session with the shop owner - she was really sweet and gave lots of great advice about inexpensive ways I can take care of my skin at home. I was expecting a hard sale for expensive creams or additional services but instead, I was told that all I needed in between sessions was sunscreen and an OTC face wash & moisturizer of my choice. ​It brings me great sadness to even have to write this review but I don't want anyone to get caught up the way that I have. A day ago, I received a call and the receptionist said that the facialist has something that she has to do with her child and she is no longer available on the day and time of my upcoming appointment. She asked me to reschedule my appointment. I told that I would like to cancel my appointment outright since I cannot reschedule. My summer is super busy. I confirmed that I was charged the $50 fee and asked her to reimburse me. She said she cannot refund me. I asked, even if my appointment is cancelled through no fault of my own? She said yes. Then she clarified that there are no refunds on the $50 deposit. I explained how I had no idea about this and do not recall seeing this message anywhere. I asked her repeatedly to speak with someone else and she kept saying she cannot refund me. She finally said that someone will call me back. I asked for someone to call the same day. I was very confused and bewildered as to why I completely missed this strict rule. If I had known they operated like this, I wouldn't have booked my appointments all the way out into Sept. I went through my emails and found email receipts confirming the charges and no notifications of their cancellation policy. The one email that had the cancellation policy noted on the bottom was an email confirming that I had cancelled a laser appointment (I was not charged $50 for that). Then it hit me. I booked ALL of my appointments in person at the medical spa. I called in my first appointment back in Jan 2020 because I saw no dates online. I NEVER booked any appointments through the website for me to see any cancellation rules. When booking in person or on the phone, the receptionist NEVER told me about this strict cancellation policy. There is no signage behind the receptionist or on the ledge of the welcome desk. I literally had no idea about the absolutely no refunds rule since all of my transactions were in person or on the phone. Minutes after this realization, the facialist called me. First she apologized and said the receptionist called me in error to reschedule my upcoming appointment. My appointment is still booked. I then explained to her how I actually had no idea about their cancellation policy. I explained my experience above and she said, "well you're a returning customer so the receptionist assumed that you knew." Then, the convo got worse. When I explained that I am used to places that give you a grace period for deposit & cancellation, she argued that this was not true. At one point she said that African-American people tend to cancel last minute, thereby not giving another person a chance to receive a service. This is why they have this policy. At another point, she said that Square is responsible for the charge and that I can dispute the $50 charge with Square. At another point, she told me to "calm down" when all I was doing was expressing how based on my experience with THIS medical spa, I did not know about this cancellation policy. She also said that there is a 300 person waiting list and if I cancel at the last minute, I'm depriving others of receiving their service. Finally, she asked me if I would be cancelling or keeping my appointments. I replied and started to say "I have a very bad feeling about this..." The facialist immediately cut me off and said she's not a thief. I was shocked and stunned because I was not even going to talk about money anymore. I wanted to tell her how I didn't feel like a valued customer with her comment about the waitlist and depriving others and how this whole exchange made me very uncomfortable. She talked over me and took no time or care to listen to me. Towards the end, I felt myself shutting down and I just said "ok" after every comment. When she asked me again if I was going to cancel my appointments, I told her I will think about it and get back to them. I wish this didn't happen like this but it did. The facialist took no accountability or responsibility for their error and gaps in their customer service. The call and comments were inappropriate. Instead of hearing me out on the phone, she just argued with me. She was not able to put herself in my shoes as the customer and see why I was expressing such surprise with the cancellation policy. And come to think of it, I don't even think I got the chance to even ask for a refund. As a Black-owned & first-generation run business, I was super excited about this establishment. I have already visited 5 times before and I have appointments booked out into September. If the phone conversation had gone another way and I felt like the faclist understood me and truly heard what I was saying, I would have gladly continued to patronize this business. But unfortunately, I cannot do this. I am forced to take my business elsewhere. read more

UPDATE! I received my refund from Carla today! I get zero pleasure in writing a bad review especially for a business owned by Black women. I extended Carla grace, the long and short of it is simple. I made an appointment in May, I assumed they were open because the appointment was accepted. I even received a confirmation for the appointment. Not until I reached out to them, was I told, they were indeed closed. I kindly asked for a refund ofmy deposit. For 2 months, not a word from this business. When I finally reached out to them again, they apologized said they were overwhelmed and sounded genuinely overwhelmed during the phone call. She ( Carla) offered to refund via zelle or cash app, I said no worries,just refund me the way I paid. Well it's been 6 months and nothing. I reached out again and made her aware I still haven't received my refund , she asked if I had cash app because it was sent, I said I don't have cash app. That was November 23rd. She never got back to me. They have never sent the refund and clearly lack basic professionalism to admit it. I intentionally didn't write a review of any kind because I wanted to extend them grace and truly believed this would've been resolved by now. There's a bunch of missteps here. My email exchange with Carla was less than desirable. She essentially blamed staff and the pandemic, was defensive. Never taking responsibility. From May 2020- November 2020. My deposit still hasn't been refunded. 6 months in there's no excuse. Don't waste your time at this place. read more

I hate to have to write this review, especially when it is black owned and run BUT the service I received was lackluster, an hour behind schedule with no notice, advice given was general common sense (skin looks dull grey/blue..never once asked me to bring the camera closer to my skin....so it could have been the lighting that was giving me a blue/grey undertone...fyi my natural undertone is yellow)...and the consultation was $50 for all of 10 minutes. I later found out that I was both misinformed by the receptionist that booked my appointment on 2/3 and the email received..stating that my $50 deposit/consultation fee would be applied to the service suggested once booked the same day. This is a Black Woman Owned business that caters to black skin. I have had 2 facials and a chemical peel from them. Every time I've seen an immediate difference in my face. This is the longest my face has glowed and improved. I've been with them for 4 months and I'm extremely satisfied. They are very pricey but it has been worth it. I am a strong supporter of black businesses, so it pains me to write this review. I was very excited to get a chemical peel, after under going extensive acne treatment it was my final stage of good bye hyperpigmentation and acne. The esthetician who did my chemical peel, literally used a wipe to my face. That was the chemical peel! I felt that she did not apply the chemical properly because my skin did not peel at all. A few days later my face looked horrible, I had extreme break out and they got super painful. I had called the office 3 times to explain what was happening and no one got back to me. I was scheduled a video interview to view my progress, and I had to called the office and begged for one of the esthetician to call me. That was April, it is June and still no one has called me. The service is a way to fast especially if you're paying almost $400 for a peel. That was a waste of money and now I have to seek a dermatologist to treat my skin because of how horrible it looks now. I was in and out the office in less than 10 minutes. (I am serious). The office is beautiful, I love the decor and smell. My experience was horrible and the service needs better improvement, especially if it's this pricey. read more
