I've been here twice and enjoyed both facials each time! I like it here because it's very convenient for me. It's very small and quaint, not super duper fancy but clean and cute. Each time I went, the lady explained each step and why it's beneficial. She examined my face and let me know what products I can use to maintain. I'll be back a few more times.

Skin Care by Rochel was recommended to me by a friend who knew I was looking for a facial in Crown Heights. I could not pass up trying it out with their affordable price points since the only other options were double the price! I was pleasantly surprised and have been going regularly for almost a year now. I specifically love the low price point, location, and availability. I really feel like the estheticians know what they are doing and what they are talking about. I also really enjoy the convenience that you can book an appointment online. Once you book an appointment you get a text AND email that they have "received" your appointment. Finally you get another text and email that they have "accepted" your appointment. It gives you the freedom to just book a facial at 1am when you are feeling like treating yourself to some self care the next day ;) I personally have only tried Chelsea and Victoria; I have no preferences since they are both great, but TIP: Victoria always offers hand massages. I unfortunately do not like the choice in music; last time I went they actually were playing such distracting music I had to tell Victoria since it was so hard to relax. Another reason I would not give it five stars is because there are no warm towels; I personally love a warm towel especially after a facial. Overall, for the value and all the other benefits such as convenience and availability; I think Skin Care by Rochel is the best place to go to for a facial in Crown Heights!

in response to Rochel. Im not confused. I received a new appointment confirmation after i called and asked if i should still come. the receptionist put me on hold and asked you to which you said you would take me. I appreciate the well wishes Thank you. but I quickly got confirmation that energetically i probably wouldn't want you to be touching my face anyways-- things happen for a reason. And i didnt wish to come back next day for a 9pm appointment as offered--i was there well before 9pm yesterday so couldn't understand why one day you have a 9pm appt and another day you do not. I would not recommend coming here at all. the owner Rochel booked an appointment with me and left prior to me arriving. when i got here they just said she had to leave??? with no explanation. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. i learned that she doesnt live far and could literally come back to the studio but instead she just ignored her staffs phone calls and texts. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. i told her this was for my wedding and she told me to come out of my way to come and then just left. completely inconsiderate and no compassion whatsoever. dont come here. im extremely disappointed at the service here.

My first facial. Rochel is amazing. I had a wonderful experience. My face feels so good. Rochel explained each step. Yes!

I asked what time I should come back to pick up my family member and she was ready at the time they told me she would be. When I asked her about her experience she told me the lady was nice, professional, and knew her stuff. She also recommended some products for my family member. The really cool thing about the experience was that I immediately saw a notably nice different in my family members face/skin. Overall the vibe was cozy and warm. From the website (https://www.brooklynbanya.com/m): Men only hours: Tuesday 11am-11pm $60pp Thursday 6pm- 1am $60pp From what we could see and smell from the lobby, the place was dark, threadbare, and dingy, with a funky odor of mold mixed with perspiration and other unpleasant, unidentifiable things on top. There are a variety of different sauna rooms some smaller than the others, rest areas and an area to play chess and go. What I love about this place is the 400 degree sauna that really cooks you. We stayed here for about 5 hours and went to all their saunas, we ended up getting a little hungry and ordered a meal to share plus a large bingsoo which was really refreshing and cooling to your body. I love to spend an off day enjoying some healthy food and contrast bathing. KIng Spa was definitely a uniquely Korean experience. The overall vibe is a little old school and dusty, lots of 80s looking water features with piped in birdsong. The locker rooms need an update and the gendered pool area is quite small. I would imagine if you were a gender non-conforming person this kind of place would be highly stressful. There were dirty Q-tips just tossed in a box on the counter with wax on them, there were communal combs (gross), and a lot of the areas for lounging had very beat up looking furniture. There were several ladies really pushing hip baths, it had sort of a hectic, hustle-culture vibe upon entering that was not really relaxing. However the overall vibe is cozy and the saunas themselves were the real deal, especially the ultra hot one in the basement. The food was EXCELLENT especially compared to Sojo. Real deal Korean offerings, beverages and unique snacks like sauna eggs and plenty of ice cream. I would suggest to go early and eat lunch there, then spend the rest of the afternoon snoozing, baking in the sauna or getting a chair massage. They also have a salon their that offers perms and nail service, can't speak on that but fun that it's offered. There are plenty if chess tables and places to read and scroll if that is your spa style. My main big complaint: I booked a 30 minute scrub when I entered. I soaked before the scrub as instructed, when the scrub lady came to fetch me she was rude and dismissive from start to finish. I am not talking about the usual straightforward Korean spa attitude-she was downright nasty to me. She barked orders, yelled at me for having dyed hair that bled a little onto the wet towel pillow I had to use, she pinched my skin, rolled her eyes and sucked her teeth when I asked her to repeat herself. I understand there are some different cultural expectations but I have never been so poorly treated by a spa employee before. KIng Spa, you really have to do some customer service training!

It was cozy, relaxing, decompressing, and aromatic! Esp, on a snowy, 16 degrees outside wintery kinda Xmas holiday season. What a delight! We began our evening walking from the West Village, then upon entering Aire being greeted with warm tea my absolute fav drink besides an iced matcha. We were given wristbands and headed to our keyless entry lockers to robe up and descend into the jacuzzi, sauna, and cold plunge pools. It Feels like entering a gorgeous gothic cave. There are a few different pools, each with their own temperature and/or benefits. Don't miss the bath upstairs with a beautiful skylight! My massage was an ok experience - pressure fluctuated throughout, so it was hard to pinpoint when to tell her to go harder or softer. Even though there were a lot of people, it didn't seem too crowded in each pool at any point. The ambience is very dark, calming, and relaxing. Not sure I would buy a pass just for the pools because there's only so much time I can spend in each. But it's a great treat

This place came highly recommended, but when we showed up, their systems were completely down. No one called us beforehand because they had no access to their system. To their credit, the front desk team was kind and allowed us free access to the spa facilities for two hours to check out the saunas, steam room, and snow room. We made the best of it and had a good time bopping around. However, their customer service recovery is nonexistent. It has been over a week since that visit and they are still holding onto my $700. Every time I call, I am routed to a call center agent who doesn't understand the situation and has no power to help me. Two emails to their billing center have gone completely unanswered. Keeping a customer's money for services you couldn't render due to your own tech failure is unacceptable. Since nobody there seems to know how to run the business or process a refund manually, I am moving forward with a bank dispute to reclaim my money. If you go here, pray their system doesn't crash, because you will never see your money again. UPDATE: Unbelievable. After blasting them on here, a manager named Claudia called me. But instead of taking responsibility, she tried to gaslit me by claiming I was being "combative" because I am frustrated. Let's get the facts straight: your business took my $700, failed to provide the services, ghosted me for a week, and now I'm the combative one for wanting my money back? She literally called me to play reindeer games, asking me to explain "what happened when I arrived." Girl, get out of here with that. You work there, you know your own systems were down. It is completely crazy to interrogate a customer about a tech failure your own business suffered. When I refused to let her talk over me or railroad the call, she tried to act like she was the one refusing to have a "combative conversation." It's pathetic corporate deflection. She finally said she would process the refund today because I wouldn't back down, but dealing with this level of unprofessionalism just to get a refund for services never rendered is ridiculous. Management here is trash.

We intentionally planned so that this will be last so that we can take the day to relax and rest our body to go back home to our daily lives after busy day in NYC. We did some research and made sure to come on weekday earlier in the morning so that it's not too congested. We got there at 10:00am on Monday morning as which was perfect time. They have valet parking but it cost additional money so we just used their free parking lot which is located a block away from the main building on the same side. Once we got there we checked in and were guided through with instruction on what to expect and rules. Once you check in your bag gets checked. Be aware that you cannot bring any outside food or drink. You can bring empty water bottle/container which is highly recommended. After the bag check you take your shoes off and drop them off at the shoe locker which is guided by the staff. After that you enter the inner zone. It's recommended to start at floor 4 so that you can go to the main locker to drop off your other luggage and change into swimwear if not already. It's also recommended to take a quick shower before going into the pools and baths which you may want to do once you go to the bathroom. Once you are settled you can put your robe and go on your way to the amenities. We started our experience on the 4th floor at the outdoor bath. Started on foot bath with stones, silk bath, carbon bath, and hinoki bath which were nice and relaxing. We then went to Dry sauna and ganbanyoku which is hot stone sauna. Hot stone sauce had few different type of stone you can lay on so we decided to try all of them. Once we were done we went into the cold bath with waterfall to cool ourselves and went to try the bath with water jets/hydrotherapy. There were few different types that target your back, neck, foot, ...etc. we basically tried them all. They feel pretty nice and some are pretty strong almost like S massage. Once we were done with 4th floor we registered for volcanic sand bath which is an extra charge $20 experience per person. We scheduled a time and went up to 6th floor for our session. Once they are ready they go over some information and precautions and get you changed to yukata. They do recommend to go naked under for full experience and i do recommend it as well. Once you are ready the staff will take you to a spot and have you lay down and start to cover you in volcanic sand from Japan. Once you are covered you lay there and enjoy the experience. It's like you are laying in the sand at the beach that are hot and heavy. Its feels very nice and relaxing. They will leave you about 10 minutes and will give you some cold towel on your head which feels great. You will start to feel some sweat dripping from your body and your face. Once it's about 15minutes the staff will come and direct you to get up and give you some water to hydrate. They will make sure you feel ok before directing you to go to the shower to wash yourself up before changing back to your Swimsuit. It's a good idea to go full naked under because sand will get under everywhere and you can clean them off during the shower. Once you are cleaned up we took a quick break and had lunch at the food court which is directly next to the volcanic sand bath on 6th floor. We got bulgogi with rice and fries to share which was ok. Bit expensive but to be expected with facility of this kind. Once we were done eating we went down to 5th floor to enjoy the saunas. We tried pretty much all of the saunas including salt, charcoal, red brick, infrared, stone, and clay. We took a quick break in ice room and once we finished the sauna we took a quick break at the relaxation area and lay down for a bit. Once we were relaxed we went up to the 7th floor and enjoyed the infinity pool. You can see the skyline of NYC across the hudson river. Took some photos of the gorgeous view. We lay down for a bit to relax and went back down to finish the day with foot bath as we were cold coming out of the pool. We went back to the 4th floor to change and check out. Got our shoes and walked back to the parking lot yo head out. Overall i liked the experience that was offered at sojo spa club. I can see that our experience may have been different if it was on weekends and or if the weather was not good but we planned well and was also lucky with the weather so we were able to enjoy the facility to its full extent and i liked it. Service was good and a lot of the process was stream lined so that our time waiting was minimized. Would come back again.
