My son got me a Groupon gift certificate to Fleur Wellness Spa for Mother's Day. After reading the reviews about Shelly giving Groupon holders the runaround I was very nervous to book. (Also, please note I am not experienced with getting massages.) Here is my experience: I called and got a message machine that she was on vacation and would begin booking on Aug 14th. On Aug 14th I got a text that she was open for booking. I booked. Never mentioned that I had a Groupon. There was some confusion as to the location because she has the old location listed on one of her websites (was on Main in Newhall) so I verified the address to be on Bouquet. When I arrived Shelly greeted me and had me fill out a form. Although I never mentioned my gift certificate, she asked for my Groupon, so somehow she knew or assumed I was using a Groupon. Shelly was very pleasant. Fleur is now located in "Sola Solans" on Bouquet between Hobby Lobby and Presidente. When you walk in Sola you find 2 hallways filled with all kinds of salons for hair, nails, massage, etc. Each business is in a small room behind sliding glass doors. Fleur is in the first hallway, a few door down on the right. The room is very small (maybe 8x8'). A curtain is used behind the glass door for privacy. Shelly uses aroma therapy, soothing nature sounds/music, the lights are dimmed, and the room is somewhat heated. Lots of essential oils on display (for sale). A massage bed with sheets and blanket is in the middle of the room. Shelly steps outside the curtain while you undress and redress. With the hot stone massage, she put a towel on my back and laid the hot stones down the center of my back while she massaged my legs and feet etc. After she removed the stones she did use the hot stones to massage my neck and back area. The heat of the stone felt good against my skin. The massage was head to toe. At the end, she offered me some water. The next client was waiting with her outside the sliding door/curtain when I came out. I tipped her and she said if I wanted to come back she'd give me the Groupon price. Concerns/Critiques: 1. There are a few different websites and the wrong address on those sites (easily correctable) 2. Her 60*min Hot Basalt Stone Massage is listed as $119 & $49 on one of the sites, so that's confusing. The Groupon price is $49, so if that's the regular price you aren't getting a deal, and to be honest I wouldn't pay more than $49 for that massage personally. I know we are in the time of texting, but I think personal phone calls are more professional and inviting for a business, especially for a first-time contact and for a business that has personal contact/intimacy. I have never written a review on Yelp before, but my experience was so fantastic that it was worth taking a moment to share. I had never gotten a full bikini was before and so nervous/anxious before the appt. My sister had told me how amazing Corinne was so I took her advice and booked my first ever wax with her and I AM SO HAPPY I DID! SHE IS AMAZING! She walked me through every step of the process, told me exactly what to expect, took her time and made me feel extremely comfortable. On top of that, her room is perfectly clean, she uses a new application stick and cloth for every strip and she customizes the way she waxes depending on your hair pattern. And it gets even better! I did not have a single ingrown hair or bump after my appt. And she called me the next day to follow up and see how I was doing. Best place in town to get waxed. I had purchased a Groupon for a massage and had an appointment for three weeks out. The masseuse called me a few days before the appointment to re--schedule saying she had to have a procedure done. I re-scheduled, and when I showed up she told me that she would have to cut my appointment short because she had a doctor appointment. I told her no and left. It was a very cold and rainy day so I was upset that I had gone out in the elements for nothing. I called Groupon and cancelled my voucher. I completely agree with all other negative reviews. I had bought a Groupon a couple of months ago and wanted to schedule an appointment for the end of September. I had left Shelly (the owner) a voice message and sent 2 messages via her website as well. I did not get a response for 2 weeks. Her voice mail stated she was out of town and would return on 09/29. Still no call back from her for 3 more days. Then she started texting me in a very unprofessional way. I told her my availability, but she still kept asking me for my preferred days and time. She confused my name with other clients and felt completely disorganized. She was even reproachful complaining that she had to answer 30 messages in a single day! After a couple of days of texting (which was annoying to me), she finally scheduled an appointment. The evening before my appointment, she texted me after 9 pm and CANCELLED! Her excuse was that she has a "homeless situation" and her business will be relocating! I was very angry, because seriously you cannot believe her story. It is unprofessional to cancel with such short notice, and how can you believe her story if you just had scheduled the appointment 2 days earlier - and all of a sudden she is relocating?? I sent a complaint to Groupon and they refunded my money right away. I asked them to better stop allowing her to sell Groupons and promote her business that way. Be careful, don't go there. This is my advice to all new clients. It does not help if she is wonderful with existing clients. Got a hot stone massage from Groupon. Don't waste your money! The masseuse is not strong enough. When I told her to make it stronger, she reasoned out that I signed up for a therapeutic massage, not deep tissue. I've never had a masseuse tell me this. My daughter bought me a Groupon for a Hot Rock Massage at Fleur Wellness on Bouquet for Mothers Day. Since then I've been given the total runaround to schedule an appt. No one ever answers the phone, you have leave a message. I finally got an appt for today at 12:30-1:30. After driving 45 mins down here the place was closed. I called, Shelly actually answered and said "I never sent a text to confirm your appt". What??? Needless to say this place is SHADY. They don't want to honor a Groupon is the bottom line. I pride myself in obtaining relaxing massages and extraordinary services from small business providers. However I am not sure if the masseuse actually has sufficient experience to call herself such. My mom purchased aGroupons for me and my sister during my Christmas Vacation in California 2014/15. The location was freezing when I arrived and didn't change much during my entire 90 minute Hot Stone massage (use that term lightly). The stones were being heated in a hot plate. They were only placed down my back like they show in photo brochure. They were never properly oiled and used to actually massage any part of my body. The massage started at least 20 minutes behind due to the clinician leaving the room and getting supplies that should have been in place, however she promptly ended at 1:30 after never massaging my back, front of my legs, knees, and lightly touched my feet while placing stones between my toes. The room was steamy but from frost NOT heat!~ Completely dissatisfied and will definitely be cancelling the second voucher purchased for my sister.
