Thank you all so much for helping us out so well in an emergency. Tips for others: there were no avail appts online on Sunday, but on Monday at 6:30 am there were appts avail online at 10:30 same day. Keep trying. They really do turn away people w no appt tho. This wasn't mentioned to me when I made the appointment, not too much of hassle but could have been better. My printer wasn't working and I asked them to print the document for me. Since the office was moved the lady took fifteen minutes to get her printer hooked to the network and somehow printed my document and notarized it which was above and beyond for me. 15 dollars for notary is ok. I submitted my son's passport request on 6 April 2026 of this year and still have not received it…read more He is 16 years old and I submitted his birth certificate when submitting the application at the local request office. I was asked to submit a second form of proof since the birth certificate I submitted did "not have parent's names." I do not know a lot of birth certificates that are missing parent's names. Even though I disagreed I submitted another birth certificate by mail. Plus my Son is 16, according to US passport website, a 16 year old does not need proof of consent. He just needs "proof of parental awareness " which was provided when I signed his passport application and gave up a copy of my ID and passport at the local county clerk of court official records devision, the lady verified my identity and signed she witnessed I am the father. Yet the US passport office has yet to issue my son's passport. As previously stated, it is now more than 3 months. I have called and verified the website but the status stays the same. There is no help at all when I request an appointment to the closest passport office neither. Honestly I am exhausted of calling and verifying every day and seeing there is no progress.
