Great food. Great service. Happy family. The waiter was very nice and helped us make decisions on the their delicious menu. The food came out very quickly with lots of food on each plate.

Creatively traditional breakfast and lunch. We make an annual pilgrimage to this place. We are always warmly greeted, even though we average 10-20 people in our group. Specials are handwritten on white boards at strategic spots around the restaurant, in addition to printed menus. Spoiler alert: portions are huge and prices are reasonable. The food combinations are focused around favorites but prepared differently. The homemade donuts(beignets?) are fabulous! I always have a difficult time photographing because our crew starts eating as soon as served. The restaurant has comedic sayings around the rooms which are very "punny." One of my favorites is "If you don't eat, we both starve!"

WOW, BRAVO, is the best way I can explain Flip Cafe! This is not your average greasy spoon, although their huge menu certainly can accommodate that vibe if that's what you're after. Expect to be delightfully overwhelmed by their extensive breakfast and lunch menu. All of the standards are there and then lots more. Everything is exceptionally done and the portions are very large. The flip cinnamon cakes are a must - be sure to get a side order before your meal or make that your toast options. You won't be disappointed. They are perfect dough pillows lightly flavored and dusted in powdered sugar. I've never tasted anything like them! We tried the crab cakes, spinach and eggs with thick cut wheat toast and the home fries - huge red potatoes that are fluffy inside and oh so perfectly crispy on the outside. It was incredible! We also tried the other potato option, hash browns, that are a huge portion of perfectly cooked shreds mixed with sour cream and scallions. The flavor is out of this world! The chorizo hash also was a crowd pleaser. A huge plate of a flavorful mix of veggies, eggs, cheese, and meat, scrambled and seared up together with a giant slices of homemade toast. If you're a coffee drinker you won't be disappointed with their locally roasted beans. Everything is a cut above the rest here, including the service. The vibe is low key, funky, and intimate. On weekends this may mean a bit of a wait but rest assured the staff is extremely efficient, attentive, and professional and the meal and experience is well worth any wait!

There's nothing not to love about this place. Great food, great people, great atmosphere. Even the cat wallpaper in the restrooms! Second time we've been here visiting my sister in Edinboro. Extraordinary menu includes their signature flips (not pictured but so yum) and daily specials are on the boards inside. Love that they're so attentive with coffee refills and super friendly. I would not be opposed to adding some cold brew to the menu, I think they could get really creative with favors, cold foam etc! I'd suggest arriving as early as your party is willing to, as there's typically a wait for larger groups when they're busy :)

I have never been disappointed! It's a small, quaint, artsy cafe tucked into a college town. I have always had to wait to be seated because it's busy but it's always been worth the wait. The decor is so intriguing and whimsical I find myself looking around seeing different things during each visit. Their coffee is spot on and served in a coffee cup that I might have found in my first apartment. Every meal I have ordered has been different and not one has disappointed. I recommend going with one other person for the best experience. Larger groups feel a bit crowded and those are the longer waits. The servers are very friendly and kind and the cooks are accommodating. You can't go wrong with the Flips when given a choice of bread. Highly recommend! read more

Flip Cafe is a great gem in Edinboro. Their signature 'flips' are to die for. Good eggs, pancakes, French toast. Usually a line on the weekends (we are here for soccer tournaments a couple of times a year), but worth the wait. read more

We were on town for my Husbands birthday and found this place on here and we are so happy we did. Their breakfast is amazing with a huge menu! We started with Bacon Flips which were like donuts drizzled with a sweet glaze and topped with crispy bacon, my husband ordered a bacon and pepper jack cheese omelet with flip potatoes which are shredded potatoes with sour creme and scallions and 2 HUGE slices of homemade rye toast.. All of the bread is house made. I ordered pumpkin roll french toast with this amazing creme cheese filling with a side of home fries that were just sooo good. The service was very friendly and the place was super cute from the lace looking plates to the cool art on the walls! We will for sure take a drive from buffalo and be back!! read more

We enjoyed the food a lot at this local place. The menu is big but the items are a little different from standard breakfast places. The servers were knowledgeable and helpful. We both had "smashes" -- their version of a skillet dish -- and they were huge and delicious. One was chorizo which was rich and spicy; the veggie smash was also great but benefited from some hot sauce. We also had an order of the "flips" which are beignet-type dough balls but more doughy and not too sweet. I'd recommend this place if you are in the neighborhood. read more

Truly a hidden gem within the community. Breakfast was amazing with a lot of different selections to try. Their unique style of hash browns and the flip style donut were lived by the entire family. The pancakes are massive and stuffed full of the toppings selected. Very reasonably priced and everyone wants to add this into our rotation. Hands down my favorite Edinboro spot! Incredible food, fresh and local, creative, just... the best! The fried Brussels sprouts are my go-to. They always have something new and delicious in the works! Visited for lunch, pulled pork hash with gluten free ciabatta roll was spot on. My wife enjoyed a spinach/artichoke/leek omelette with a buck wheat muffin. Everything was hot, fresh and of a bigger portion. We noticed on the way out they are adding some dinner services. I snapped a few picture of the new dinner menu. All I have to say is the biscuits and sausage gravy with two over easy eggs and homefries. Mixed it up a little and it was heaven on a plate!!!!! I ordered one pancake each for both of my girls and those things were huge!!!!! We are definitely coming back!!!!! Next time I am getting the pie and the cake first then I am ordering food!!! I have no complaints at all!!! This place is a must try!!! read more

On my way from Erie PA to Pittsburgh I needed to stop for breakfast. I am so glad this was the place that I chose!! The food was amazing, coffee was amazing, and service was amazing. I wish I lived closer as I would go more often. All the food is a must try, I only wish my stomach could handle more! The portions are huge as well. Must try! read more

This is hands down my favorite place! I enjoy coming here to relax in the friendly eclectic atmosphere and enjoy a great cup of coffee with breakfast or a cold soda with lunch. The food..where do I begin? My first experience was the lamb burger and I instantly became a Flip fan! Breakfast is always a hard decision! I tried to start at the top of the omlet selection and work my way down but I keep going back to the Greek omelet although the leek omlets keep calling my name! Flip home fries are a must and don't forget to order the famous "flips" ! All the breads, pies and cup cakes are home made so you should take something home to enjoy later!I I Will probably see you there because it is a must have for my sister and I! read more

Flip Cafe is a funky place with lots of neat combinations and unique flavors. I've never had anything at Flip that I didn't fall in love with. I've tried the red velvet French toast, pancakes with nuts and sprinkles, and the "Elvis has left the building" (French toast with peanut butter and bananas). As you can see, I am a savory breakfast person. Every time I have left completely satisfied by the meals and happy with the service. I flippin' love it! read more

Flip Cafe is an Edinboro standard! This little cafe has all the breakfast and lunch essentials with their own unique twist. I choose Flip nearly every time I have company from out of town and visit at least once a month. The cinnamon flips go well with pretty much everything (they're little fried dough squares rolled in cinnamon & sugar). The omelets are fantastic, especially the Greek and Reuben varieties. Portions are quite generous for the price as well. My absolute, all-time favorite though? Peanut butter French toast...just let that thought sink in for a moment... Wait times can be a little long as the cozy dining room is only so big, especially on weekends when the college is still in session. Quality and consistency is normally very high (I've only had one slightly disappointing meal here out of dozens through the years). If you're in 'boro and only have time for one meal - make sure it's here. You can't go wrong and you WILL be back! read more

Amazing!!!!! Came here with my family for brunch, it was awesome! On a Saturday morning, we waited about 10 minutes to be seated and it was worth every minute of it! The cinnamon flips are a must try!!! They are like beignets with cinnamon and sugar instead of powdered sugar! The service was great too! I stopped by Flip while on a visit to Edinboro's campus, and I was not disappointed. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. I had the strawberry cream quinoa oatmeal and was very impressed; it was a large portion and was sweet without being overwhelmingly so. I also had a cinnamon flip with my oatmeal and I definitely recommend it: warm, fresh cinnamon-sugary, doughy deliciousness. Do yourself a favor and stop by Flip if you're in town. It gets pretty busy during prime breakfast hours (9-11) but I came in at about 8:15 and was seated/waited on immediately. read more

I wanted to like it more than I did. Cool environment. Lots of options to choose from for breakfast foods. The food tastes ok. I really wanted to love it, but it was really pretty average. HUGE pancakes that are super dry and flavorless. My whole family ate there (6 of us) and everyone pretty much felt the same; meh. read more

Disappointed just left felt the food was overpriced my parent order was sent back because she ordered Teriyaki shrimp Ramon and it came out spicy was spent back and they just added pepper and sent it back out was unable to eat it. Was taken off the bill and was on receipt as Cajun shrimp. Well that's the problem we didn't order Cajun we ordered teriyaki. Total was $16.00 they charged $11.99 for 5 Perogies with berry and bacon. Would not have ordered it for the price and they weren't very good. I spent $16.00 and my parent left hungry because they were unable to eat there dish. Will probably not be coming back since they food is over priced and one of us went hungry read more

Ok this place reminds me of 1981-1982 setting. A little touch of Hippie-Anti Cold War setting; in no way Anti America. The food was beyond awesome. It was like what grandma would have made, homemade and with the above touch! The waitress was awesome too. read more

We visited Flip after not visiting for over a year. Service seemed same for neighborhood cafe! Our experience was unfortunately not that enjoyable because the fans in the cafe were on full blast...and the door was propped open. It was an unusually cold morning (56 degrees). When asked to turn the speed of the fans down the server told is she was not allowed. Looking around everyone was bundled in their sweaters and jacket. Unfortunate :( read more

Great breakfast and fantastic service. I had the Brussels sprouts with fried eggs and hollandaise. Others had the Elvis French toast, creme puff pancakes, Cajun shrimp wrap, and vegetable omelet. All were hot, filling, and very nicely prepared. Definitely coming back again. read more

One of the worst restaurant experiences I had recently. Stopped here on the way home from Buffalo…read morebecause we didn't want fast food. What we got instead was SLOW food. We got there at 8:30 pm and were the only table in the restaurant eating, everyone else was at the bar. Service was slow and the food - for 3 people - took an hour to get. Once we got the food, it wasn't good either. I had a burger which was ok, it was overdone and the sweet potato fries I got were also overdone. My sister got a chicken wrap which was a chicken patty cut up inside the wrap. None of us finished our meals and it was unfortunately a waste of time and money.

Disappointed in that as well. Since there really wasn't that much beef, and the beef that was there was pretty tough. Probably would not try that again. It is a shame, since this place otherwise has some really great food.

I had been to a couple weddings there before, and both couples raved about the staff, but you can't truly know how incredibly wonderful and helpful they are until you book with them yourself! Truly the best service, and such a gorgeous venue. I was slightly hesitant to tour because I didn't want our wedding to blend in with our other friends' who got married there, but with our vision and special touches, and Katie and her team's guidance and execution, every wedding is so uniquely yours we couldn't be happier with how everything went. I'm certain I will miss something amazing here because there was SO much, but these top three stand out for me: 1. The food was excellent. The bruschetta chicken specifically was incredibly flavorful, roast beef so tender, and garlic mashed potatoes, alfredo, and green beans with mushrooms just so so so good. Many guests have texted me saying they're still thinking about it a week later. Also, we have multiple guests with allergies. We fully expected those guests to just not put those items on their plates and eat the rest. Nick's said, we can do better than that and made special dishes for five or so guests (like salmon and sweet potato for my mom, mashed potatoes pulled aside before garlic was added, and green beans plated before mushrooms added, and storing and delivering special gluten free desserts for guests needing them). They were SO considerate in making sure every guest got the full experience of our wedding and enjoyed every bite. 2. The above-and-beyond hospitality went so far beyond food, too. One guest was on crutches and in pain and the Nick's team brought her ice for her injury. My family was coming from out of state and allowed them to stay in the Inn four nights, compared to the normal 1-2 nights. By the way, the Inn team is incredible too! Every time we walked by the desk they asked how we were doing and if they could get us anything. They checked on us in our rooms getting ready, and in the kitchen while having meals with our family. The whole wedding and extended weekend, both teams not only made sure my husband and I had everything we needed at all times, but also every wedding party member, and all our parents/grandparents. Truly incredible service. 3. Finally, the planning and coordination services that is included in the booking is invaluable! Other venues charge so much for that, or you have to find your own external person. Katie met with us for hours in advance to look at our Pinterest board, talk through our ceremony readings, talk about our families, and find ways to honor everyone and every tradition, with decor that reflects our style. Big bonus: being able to borrow some of their decor is huge for budget- AND environmentally-conscious newlyweds like us. AND, being able to trust their team to set up our dream decor and not have to worry about taking off extra time from work and adding extra stress to our plates to set it all up ourselves day-before (and tear it all down after the wedding) allowed us to be present with family and enjoy each other's company. I've heard from so many newlyweds and to-bes about how their wedding was more stressful than enjoyable, and that was NOT our situation at all. It truly was the Best Day Ever, like Katie said every time we spoke. I cannot imagine a better venue and team and I'm so glad we got to celebrate the start of our forever here. THANK YOU KATIE, SARAH, AND THE ENTIRE NICK'S PLACE TEAM!!! You are truly the best!!!!

Well, she gave them a run for their money. She got angry at us when we asked for a certain bread because it had just come out of the oven. We said that sounded great, because fresh bread is the best. And she said in an extremely horrible way, "You want me to burn myself." And made a big scene that we chose the most often sold bread there. We weren't trying to make her burn herself at all, but we were shocked by her mean remark. She did the same to the guy that followed, except just told him he wasn't allowed to get it. He had to call his pregnant wife to see what she wanted instead. It was the worst interaction we've had. Sorry, but I'd rate it zero stars just because of her, if I could.

The food is great here and the staff is friendly. What I love about flip is that it is THE breakfast spot to go to in Edinboro and is always full of life. What I dislike...is that it is always full of life haha. I wish Flip had room to expand but hey, I won't hold that against them. REVIEW TIME! Atmosphere- it is a little cramped, not a lot of room to wait, and it is not uncommon to have to wait. Other than that, the seating is nice and there are plenty of windows. Lots of pictures and scenery too, and the open faced kitchen is interesting to watch. It is a lively place. Service- The servers are friendly down to earth people. They are generally knowledgeable, and quick to help. For the few years I've been going to flip I must say it hasn't disappointed. Price- Well worth what you get. The portions are large and you will certainly be satisfied. They frequently run specials as well. I wish their hours were a bit longer, but they ARE open very early. Try the desserts :) read more
