Simply delicious! The western omelette is amazing. My husband and son love the sausage links.....bigger and fatter than any others. I don't know how they get the Italian toast to be pillowy soft in the middle but it is fabulous. read more

I have been here before and the breakfast was good. My father and me stopped today for lunch at 2, the cook that was ready to leave cooked his burger and sent it out, the thing was barely warm and not cooked. The other cook almost puked when she saw it. They made another one for him and it was done right this time. I saw the owner and when I talked to her she said that my dad complains if it isn't done right so they undercook it and he can send it back and then they cook it more! I've been here a lot of times and I love the food! Last time i went here I don't remember what burger I had but I had onion rings with it 1. The burger was great with the bacon on it! 2. Onions rings didn't taste like just dough like other places 3. They are fast with your drinks Maybe only complaint is that it felt like 30 minutes waiting on the food but I'm Impatient so maybe not that long Would recommend to people new to the area and want a nice dinner or snack! This is one of the only area places I've visited that actually cooks food and doesn't just heat and assemble cooked frozen food. Chili was homemade with visible chunks of bell peppers and onion. Not greasy. Tuna melt was flavorful and not sloppy. Chicken n biscuits was a real biscuit not from a can and the potatoes were also real. There were good portion sizes on everyone's plates. It's been a long time. Over a year because of the pandemic and I am glad Jake's has made it through. The quality and the amount of food served has not changed. No, you're not going to pay extra for the "atmosphere" of the restaurant ... Jake's is a down home country cookin' restaurant. Excellent food and superb, friendly service. You'll notice that most restaurants have significantly raised their prices ... Not Jake's! I especially like their Breakfast special ... 2 eggs, large portion of hashbrowns (I like them with onions), a couple slices of ham and 2 slices of Texas toast ... for just $6.49 on weekdays and $6.99 on weekends. The food is always cooked perfectly to my order. It is absolutely worth a short drive to Waterford from Erie to enjoy this spectacular little country cooking restaurant. I've been there 4 times in 2 months. Each time was very disappointing. Chicken and biscuits were cold, hot meatloaf sandwich had patches of salt in it, hash browns were burnt and inedible. Today I ordered a tuna melt and it was burnt and when I complained they proceeded to argue with me and refused to take it off the bill. Terrible customer service. I will never return. read more

Tried Jake's for breakfast this morning. VERY tasty Greek omelette with Italian toast, and a half-dozen cups of good coffee! The omelette was loaded with veggies and meat, exactly as I like! The Greek sauce covering the cheese had lots of flavor with just the right amount of heat. Amanda brought a bottle of hot sauce, but I didn't need a single drop for flavor or heat. In my honest opinion, the flavors and textures were awesome! It took a lot of self-control to savor every bite. The coffee was better than many diners I've been to. It was not your standard "two brown crayons". Nice, bright, clean interior with ample seating (seats approximately 75, + counter stools). There's a separate, double-doored section for gatherings of 25 or so. It's a diner type atmosphere that does NOT make you think greasy spoon. Amanda was great! She worked the floor like a pro on a mission. She was perfectly attentive to her diners. A very nice smile with every visit to the table. Connie rocked the kitchen! What a team! Prices are reasonable for the value you receive. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jake's! I, myself, am looking forward to return visits to check out more of the menu. Not bad, not the best either. I've heard their breakfast is fantastic, but their dinner isn't anything to write home about. Our service was good despite the amount of guests compared to waitstaff. I ordered the shrimp basket dinner, with wilted lettuce and they were out of coleslaw. Probably will not return for dinner but would like to try breakfast in the future. read more

Usually this quaint little diner is really good. My last visit was on 4/18. I was not impressed with the Jakes Burger. It was a bit rubbery and very greasy. It was the first time that I just wasn't pleased. I usually like everything I have eaten at Jakes. I would recommend Jakes just maybe not the burger. read more

I've been going to Jake's on the park for the past 6 years, and have come to enjoy the fast service, economical prices, and friendly atmosphere. Not a gourmet restaurant, but has good family cooking at a good price. I love going there and will continue to do so. read more

When I come to Northwest PA each year from Georgia I try to make it a point to stop at Jake's and get a Jakesburger. I just love them.

Advice to all: don't go there on Sunday morning. Waited 10 minutes to get seated and after coffee was delivered we were informed that it would be 30 minutes until our order would arrive due to so many people. 48 minuted later my wife's (uncooked) omelet and my order of hash and eggs arrived (minus the hash). I asked the waitress where the hash was and she headed for the kitchen. A couple minutes later she brings it out-by then the eggs and toast are cold but I didn't make a fuss and proceeded to scrape the hash on top of the eggs to warm them up. Half way through I found a large black hair under the hash and at that point showed the waitress/owner. I got a "hmm, I'm sorry" and I promptly asked that she take it away. I choked down the cold pancake expecting a replacement order which never came. At that point I felt the need to educate the waitress on how that should have been handled. I suggested she should have gone to the kitchen and promptly put together a replacement order (at the front of the line of existing orders) and delivered it asap. She proceeded to make her point that due to the large crowd the hair could have come from anywhere and it was obviously on the plate before the food was put on. She said she thought I just wanted it removed from our tab without replacing it. I asked her how she would feel if she were in my shoes, how she would handle it and if she would have accepted it and ate it. To my surprise she said "I probably would have eaten it after removing the hair"!!!! Sorry you guys got a great big FAIL from us on this one and if you can't deal with large crowds perhaps you should remove half of the tables. Note to others- order your corned beef hash BALD read more
