I booked a FlixBus trip for my family months in advance, thinking I was being responsible and locking things in early. Then, as happens, our plans changed. That's when I discovered their definition of "refund" is actually "voucher." Somehow, the money you paid them doesn't come back to you... it just stays with them indefinitely. A very convenient policy, if you're FlixBus. The catch is I never really planned to travel by bus in the first place, and I definitely don't now, so the voucher is essentially useless. I suspect that's part of the business model, issue credits that a good percentage of customers will never redeem. Maybe I missed the fine print when booking, but if your policy is "no refunds, ever," that should be front and center, not something you discover after the fact. At best it's unfriendly; at worst it feels deliberately opaque. End result: I'm out the money, holding a voucher I'll never use, and left with zero reason to consider this company again. My mistake for not reading all the reviews. They have massively downgrade from ten years ago. I remember I had a great comfortable time in the past. Today is a different story a total reality check. First and foremost, the bus was 10 minutes late and when it did arrive the driver made a sharp right turn that damaged the bus. So it had to make a detour going around Fashion Mall. No apologies from the host just get in and seat down anywhere that is available because all your assigned seats doesn't matter at all. Then you have the typical usual suspects acting up with their loud rude comments. It felt like the Wild West riding this Flix Bus. I mean if the price was $40 or less I wouldn't care however $55 for a one way and to deal with the chaotic mess is something to highly think about. I will never again ride this bus. I should've waited one more day and then hop onto the Chinese Bus with no hassle period. read more

I booked the fastest trip of the day a week in advance, only to be notified this morning that I was rebooked on a Greyhound service that leaves 2 hours later. As a solo traveler, this is incredibly frustrating. It is unacceptable that they would change my booking--presumably to maximize their own profit--at the cost of 4-5 hours of my time. f I could give zero stars, I would. We showed up ready to take the FlixBus to Vegas, only to find out the bus was canceled with absolutely no notice. No email, no text, nothing. We were told we had to exchange our tickets for the next bus, but when we got in line, the worker was "on break" for an entire hour while everyone stood in the heat getting more and more frustrated. When the line finally opened, the guy at the counter was moving at a snail's pace, making the whole process even more painful. There seem to be two listings for LA Flixbus, so I'm posting this here as well to warn more people against Flixbus. Flixbus is not dependable and I do not recommend it. I will go into greater detail, but here are some things you can expect: 1. The bus to show up at the wrong location. 2. The bus might not be marked as a "Flixbus." 3. The bus will leave early without you (see screenshots for a bus that is leaving over 30 minutes early). 4. Customer service might say they cannot give you a refund due to their "terms and conditions." Ask them to cite the specific clause because they are just saying that! I took Flixbus from San Diego to LA and it was a fine, comfortable experience but I had difficulties with the return trip. I was at the correct bus stop early (3:17pm for a bus that left at 3:35pm) and there was another passenger waiting for Flixbus there too. An unmarked black bus pulled up across the street at 3:30pm and left at 3:31pm. When I checked at 3:40 p.m. it said that the bus had departed. I guess the unmarked bus at the wrong location must have been my bus and when I contacted customer service for a refund they tried to tell me that it did not qualify for a refund in the United States according to their terms & conditions. I had to ask them to try to cite their applicable terms & conditions and when they realized they could not they finally agreed to process the refund. I have attached screenshots of the tracking from the app that shows that the bus is willing to leave early. Please note that the Irvine stop is scheduled for 6:35pm but left at 6:01pm, over 30 minutes early! Even in the official emails they recommend you are just 15 minutes early, so at this point why even bother scheduling it? The Amtrak is more expensive but at least runs on an actual dependable schedule, so I will be using that instead. read more

We received no email, no text, nothing and a group of 15 of us stood there in the cold car park for over 2 hours getting sent around in circles by customer support. It was atrocious. Terrible website, no proper bus route map, no proper directions to stops, all very confusing and not at all user friendly.

The Public Transit hub across from the Public Transit hub... The Flix Bus stop of Downtown across from Union Station is a major connector to major city destinations such as Las Vegas, Palm Springs and San Diego to name a few with stops in a handful of little big areas in-between. I took the Flixbus for the first time late last year at a different pickup location in Hollywood that wasn't bad but this spot is labeled and even has a huge waiting area right where you Flixbus will pull up. Drivers will let you know where they are headed/final destination before boarding... though it be cool of they had digital signs on the front or side like city busses do and even some other commuters. There are some benches for the local busses off Vignes. However, there is enough room where they could have a few benches and a covered space - especially given all the shifts in weather lately. It's fairly inexpensive regardless and they do what they can in this small space... maybe some improvements are in store for the future... Catching my Flix to P.S. now! Hi (: I wanted to post this review because we had a very different experience with Flix bus than the horror stories I read. We booked a round trip from Las Vegas to LA & back. I was really nervous at first because of the reviews I had read but we needed an economic last minute way to get to LA. First of all our bus both times was on time. Both departing and arriving. The seats weren't that bad I wish it had more leg room is all. The driver on the way there in the picture was very helpful and announced all the stops. The ride was smooth and quiet except for someone snoring lol. Only complaint from my husband was a dirty restroom but that's even expected on these buses. I arranged Flix bus to catch a flight at LAX. When I was waiting for the bus, I received a notification that the bus was delayed for one hour. My girlfriend and I didn't wait by the buses because we thought it was delayed for an hour I went over to check to make sure Paschal still only an hour late and found out it left on time. No other bud could get me there on time. I had to get GF to drive me there adding 3 hour round trip for her because of this false notification from Flix. Greyhound drivers said "good luck getting your money back". The Flix agent insisted it left on time but wouldn't except that I sent evidence that I was notified it was delayed. So, accidents happen... just give me a refund. NOPE. He instead hung up on me when I provided proof I received the false notification. DONT USE THIS SERVICE. Never again. The driver speaks NO ENGLISH...told us "new bus coming 1 hour" and we were under the HOT desert sun for 3 hours. They sent 2 mechanics. One of them (the Asian one) started eating a burger as soon as he arrived. The nice African American mechanic did all the hard work. The driver lied to us. No announcements. Forget about accurate updates or anything that will give you an idea of where the buses. Now onto the actual company/bus itself... Flix bus sucks! The only reason I'm using this bus is because it's physically impossible for me to walk assassination. The last trip I took was delayed by 4 hours, and I was not updated until I was already on my way to the bus station in an Uber. Unfortunately, I've been forced to use this company again due to my lack of a vehicle and I've now been waiting in 90° weather for over 2 hours for a bus that was "broken down" (although they can send every other bus they have to pick up for all the other destinations). Originally, I was supposed to leave at 4:00. Then it was 4:40 and "repaired and on its way". Then it was 5:40. Now it's 6:00 and still...NO BUS! The people that work for this company have no clue what's going on, and I make no effort to accommodate you at all whatsoever. Also, my last trip back from Palm Springs was probably 80° inside the bus without any working AC. Zero customer service. Zero effort to make any sort of accommodation work or take care of the customers for the inconvenience of having to wait several hours each time their bus is delayed... which is about 50% of the time for my experience so far! read more

I was with flix from La to Sfo , the air conditioning was working like crazy , even when everyone was complaining, the driver didn't care . He also left the lights on , we had overnight ride .
