I wanted to support local business, and wanted to spread some love this Valentine's season to my special gal pal, who has really been a huge blessing to me in my motherhood journey, and saw this place was relatively close to her home. I decided the reviews were good enough for my business, and called them early this morning, asking for same day delivery, to avoid the chaos of Valentine's Day deliveries. I asked the florist to add some roses, and pick seasonal flowers for this bouquet, with a budget of $75, not including delivery fee and taxes. My information was taken, as well as my friend's address, name, and what I wanted written on the card. The conversation was very free flowing and easy to do. I asked what a ball park would be for the final cost, just so I could be aware of what would be charged to my credit card, and was told $85 ($10 for same day delivery fee) and taxes. Everything seemed well planned except my friend wasn't home for the delivery! She ended up going into the office when I scheduled for same day. Well, Mari from the shop sent me several texts to let me know she was in contact with my friend and rescheduled the delivery for next day morning. Such a patient, understanding, and passionate store to really go above and beyond for a first time customer! I was even more blown away by the stunning bouquet the made especially for my friend and her daughter. I wish they would deliver to Brooklyn because I would order from here all the time! For our wedding this past year, we were looking around for florists that would make our wedding visions come to life. We happened to move to Long Island City at the start of 2024, on the same block as Floresta and were recommended to speak to Carlo regarding our wedding from our friends who were having Floresta at their wedding as well. We couldn't be more thankful for this connection, perfect timing and how our vision in fact came to life. For myself as the bride and wanting to have every detail figured out, Carlo and his staff made the process so seamless where we didn't have to worry about a thing leading up to our wedding and on the day of. The recommendations for our venue were perfect, the bouquets, boutonnieres, and even our dog's floral collar and leash (!!!) came out 1000x better than we could've ever thought of and planned for. When asked about a last minute bouquet with an inspiration found from Pinterest, floresta recreated the design with their own take and flower suggestions. Monica easily assisted me with available flowers on a budget while also incorporating some minor ones I found nice into the floral design. Was it the same? This is legitimately one of the best florists I've been to. It is on the pricier side compared to your neighborhood flower shop, but the quality is significantly better. Each arrangement is essentially bespoke, with the folks here working within your budget. It's great, you just walk in and let them know the occasion, your budget and any other details you might wish to enlighten them with and you end up with a perfectly arranged bouquet of flowers. They also do wedding arrangements and if I had known their quality of work would have likely looked into having them take care of the floral details of my wedding. FLorEsfa has a good website and some really nice bouquet options. They have the classic options, but also some more unique choices as well. Finding the right bouquet was easy. Placing the order online was as easy as I could have hoped. I ordered for a same day delivery and there was no problem with that. The service here was great! I came to pick up some flower petals - but was totally unaware and anxious when walking into their location regarding how to long it would take, how to preserve them, would they have them etc., As soon as I waked into the location, I was greeted and all my questions were answered. They found some good rose petals and let me inspect them. They were ready the next day. On the day I came to pick them up, the flowers were ready and put in a brown paper bag for use later. The person who gave me the rose petals on the day of the service was different than the person who originally helped me. This new person even put a few whole rose buds (that I was not required to pay for) Thats great customer service that permeates the business for them to answer all my questions, help me quickly, have them ready the next day and the addition of a few rose buds (I did not ask them for the rose buds, they gave them gratis) - what an excellent example of a small business doing things right! read more

Family. That is what Carlo and Ana have become. We had always gotten our flowers from Floresta to begin with, but we weren't so quick to pull the trigger when it came to our wedding. We wanted to keep it local to LIC, and considered a few options. But in the end, we kept coming back to Floresta. They weren't the cheapest option, but art isn't cheap. It's easy to discount wedding flowers as being disposable. It's only one-day after all. But what Carlo and the team create aren't floral arrangements. They're awe-inspiring visions. Everything from the boutonnières, to the bridal bouquet, to our drop-dead gorgeous altar, was breathtaking. We had an absolutely beautiful canvas by having Mundo as the venue, but Floresta was the painter that took it to the next level. Their style perfectly complimented the space. Each detail was thoughtfully considered, and executed with excellence. Everything was a work of art. You can go elsewhere and pay "regular" prices; but then you'll get "regular" flowers. You aren't just paying for flowers when you choose Floresta. You're paying for artistry. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't hesitate for a moment in my choice. Ouch, had to bump Floresta down a star when I saw the exact same plants being sold at Home Depot for less money. I really admired Floresta's unique looking, antiquey lantern terrariums filled with air plants and succulents. I thought they were creative and beautiful. A week later I was browsing Home Depot and saw the exact same arrangements, lanterns, plants and all for like $20 less. After that incident, I noticed a Home Depot sticker on another plant they were selling at Food Cellar. I mean, they could have at least taken the sticker off the pot!! After noticing this on 2 separate occasions, I have to assume that all of Floresta's indoor house plants are sourced from Home Depot and sold at a higher markup. In the 11 years I have been a part of the community in LIC, I have never written a negative post about a business here until today. On Friday, I went to FlorEsTa to order flowers for my son's baptism. I needed two small arrangements to put on the table at the restaurant I was having it at. I spoke with the owner Carlo who was seemingly very friendly with me. We discussed the time of delivery, which was written on the receipt to be noon. My party started at 2pm so there would be more than enough time for the delivery to be made. I get to the restaurant and I see flowers on the table but these do not look like the flowers I ordered. I speak with the owner and she told me the flowers never arrived and she went out of her way to buy these and put them on the table for me. I am very upset and I called Floresta asking where my flowers were, I spoke to a woman on the phone who was obviously frazzled and put me on hold and came back. She told me that they forgot to deliver them but that they would be able to bring them right away. 35 minutes (its maybe a 10 minute walk if you are walking slow) my flowers show up and the party is half over. It was obvious these were thrown together because the flowers were very open and not as wow of an arrangement as his flowers usually are. People commented on that as well including the owner. I told them I would reconcile this after the fact and she told me you can talk to Carlo about it especially because again, its half way through my party. The next day I walk to FlorEsTa and the woman is there again. I ask for Carlo and she tells me he is busy and not around. She realizes it's me and tells me that he texted me yesterday apologizing. I told her I have no text or call but that I came to discuss reimbursement for the error. She again repeats that Carlo texted me (both my husband I do not have any such text). I told her I'd come back to discuss with Carlo. I go back again on Tuesday I tell her I don't have his number can I please speak with him we never got a text. She repeats he texted me. I come back again on Wednesday this time with my husband and my infant and I told her this is the third time I'm trying to speak to him she tells me he he is busy again in the city but she'll try to call him. She gets him on the phone and tells him in Spanish (not sure if she realizes I speak Spanish) and says that "the woman is here AGAIN and wants to talk to you about the flowers". This to me insinuates she has told him I have come multiple times. When he gets on the phone he starts off the conversation by saying that he texted me and pretty much that was that. It was extremely non-chalant as if I was bothering him. He conducted the conversation as if me asking him for restitution was an inconvenience for him. When he finally asked me what I wanted I told him that I thought given what happened a refund or a credit to make me whole and come back to his shop. It was there the conversation went off a cliff. He started to speak loudly and ultimately started yelling at me. He told me that I was trying to take advantage of him, that it was "human error" that they "forgot to deliver the flowers" and basically that it happens. I told him while I understand this he is running a business and I paid in full for a service and delivery to be there at the start of my party not half way through, not thrown together. I should not have to chase him down for the flowers in the middle of an extremely special day. He then told me it's my fault I came "Five days later" (party was Sunday its now Wednesday), and that I shouldn't be asking for any type of refund at this point. I told him I have come every single day since the party to try and get a hold of him but he was always "unavailable" and I had no way to contact him since the female gatekeeper kept trying to apparently make me go away. He then had the audacity to tell me that I should have walked the flowers back along with his vases the day of my party if I wanted a refund. There were many times in the conversation I tried to get a word in edgewise, but it was hard to as I was constantly yelled at and spoken over. He was yelling so loud that my husband could hear him standing a couple of feet away from me. I have never in my life been spoken to that way by a business owner, let alone a man. I work in sales for a living and I can't even imagine ever speaking to a client like this, especially when I am the one who messed up in the first place. At the end of the conversation, I had a knot in my stomach, and I was beyond frustrated just wanting the conversation to end. He basically said he was doing me a favor and will credit me back 50% of my money and that I know better and that's the right thing. I told him if that's what you want to do - that's up to you. I hung up the phone and I can assure you he has lost a good customer. read more

I'm sorry to rain on the Floresta parade. But I've now purchased flowers from here three times (it's extremely close to my home) and have always been somewhat disappointed. Yes, it's a real florist whose arrangements are far superior to those of bodegas and online places like pro flowers and FTD.com However, as compared to the average Queens mom-and-pop, its selection is ho hum and its prices are insane. This is coming from an aging man who has tons of experience buying flowers from various places for the women in my life. As a matter of fact, what prompted me to write this is the following. I spent $100 there last week for B-Day flowers for my mom. Today I went to Sunnyside Florist on Queens Blvd. and spent $80 for Anniversary flowers. The $80 bouquet is, without question, MUCH nicer than the $100 one from Floresta. And I checked with two women friends, who agree wholeheartedly. Floresta gets away with its prices b/c it has little immediate competition and it knows it can gouge all the yuppies. Like most other things in Hunters Point, you're paying more for less. I feel sort of bad for bashing a neighborhood spot. And yes, the owner and the young woman who does the arranging are very nice, friendly people. I have no gripes with them. Nevertheless, you can also find lots of nice people in Greenpoint, Astoria, Sunnyside, and Woodside. They just happen to sell nicer flowers for better prices. I've seen floresta's flowers at the food cellar and I thought their work was beautiful so I decided to give them a try for my wedding. I went in for a consultation and talked to the owner for over an hour about what I was looking for. He told me he would email me a quote in the next couple of days. After waiting two weeks for the quote I finally reached out to them via email detailing the content of our conversation, specifically saying i had met with the owner and requesting my quote. after two days I received an email back saying that I'd have to come in to meet with the owner to discuss what I wanted! I reminded him that we had met already and again detailed what I was looking for. Finally I received my quote. But after all the waiting Floresta just left a bad taste in my mouth and I just didn't trust them with my special day. I went to a mom and pop shop, Lilly's florist in Astoria and got my flowers for less than half the price that I was quoted by Floresta. No waiting. read more
