I have purchased 4 Flo beds from the owner; they have been excellent. Six months ago, We purchased a newer model that my husband picked out. Well, it wasn't as comfortable as the older model. We waited too long to make corrections, our fault, well last night, Dave, my husband woke up at 3AM and slept in his recliner down stairs...he said his back was killing him...to find out, we both were experiencing back pain in that bed. Today we went to Flobeds and the owner gave us a new bed like the ones we had in the past and because we purchased 6 months ago he could not make a free swap...but we got a whole new bed for 500 dollars. I haven't purchased yet and to be honest, after the few experiences I had with Dewey on the phone and through chat on their webpage, I feel more and more leery giving them so much money, especially after reading about the whole process of returns. I expressed how I was concerned what he was recommending would be too firm, because in general, as a heavier person, everyone says to get the firmest option, but I have complex medical issues, involving hypermobility that causes my ribcage to come out of place, as well as shoulders, etc. He basically ignored me and told me to just put the super firm in the cart. He didn't seem to want to hear my story or help me, just that I was fat so I'd need a super firm mattress. The selection doesn't seem great, but I keep finding reviews here and there saying they have great mattresses, but I am also seeing a lot about how the return process is ridiculous, so it is really scary to jump into this, as someone who is chronically ill and will not be able to packed it all back up. I feel if I expressed that concern, I'd be told to not buy it then, which may just very well be the case with such poor customer service. read more

This is the most amazing mattress company we've ever worked with. Their customer service is simply outstanding! While other places leave you stuck with a mattress whether it works or not, Dewey and his team have one goal when they sell you these latex cores and that is to ensure you end up with a bed that works for you. These mattresses are highly customizable and much better than regular or memory foam mattress. We have owned a calc king for 12+ years from flobeds. We just purchased a king size and both beds are simply amazing. Even after 12 yrs, our old latex bed is just as comfortable if not more so than our new bed. No more sinking in the middle, sagging, overheated mattresses, feeling each other turn, allergies etc... just a super comfortable bed for years to come. We've had many mattresses before this one and some lasted less than a year. The price point of this mattress is incredible when compared to other brands. While price may be an issue for some, it beats having to get used to a mattress every 2-3 years. Back problems are gone and we no longer have to decide between firm or plush. When buying a king, these flobed mattresses let you customize each side to your liking. If you change your mind later, you dont have to toss the mattress. Simply, get a different layer. Perfect for side sleepers or back sleepers and a non-toxic God-sent for allergy sufferers. We had one small issue that was mostly our fault. We washed the bed cover with hot water (forgot to read the label) and it shrunk a little. When we went to put the cover on, we had to stretch it and the zipper broke. Hopefully, we will get this resolved soon. There are many mattress companies out there. Most of them just want to sell you a mass produced mattress and move on. When working with Flobeds, you just know they will get it right no matter how long it takes. Their personalized attention is second to none. It is a completely different way of doing business that will have us going back over and over again whenever we need a new mattress. There is no question that a Flo Bed is a worthwhile investment. For years, the idea of investing in a well-made bed that would last years, if not decades, was difficult to wrap my head around. Surely I could find a comfortable bed at a retail store for a reasonable price. Wrong. A long over due review of this company.. I bought my bed after researching air beds at the time and it come down to Flo Beds and Select comfort. Select comfort had a ton of bad reviews and poor customer service, so I ordered by new air bed from these guys. The bed was shipped pretty fast and worked great for over 10 years till I broke the zipper off the bed. I called flo beds up, knowing it was a long shot and asked if I could get a new outside casing replacement and the guy I talked to was great!! He looked up my order, found out which model I owned, called the warehouse to see if the had any left over stock being my bed was very old and found me one. Needless to say a new bed like mine on today's market would have cost me 1600.00 plus. Instead I bought the replacement outside casing and swap out the air chambers and the remain guts into the new casing and bang, just like new :) I love this bed, and I hate read more

The bed arrived in six large heavy boxes that take more than two hours to unpack and set up. I lay down on it and it was hard as a rock, unlike the bed I tried in their showroom. Packing it back up involved folding up the eight foam sections, forcing them into plastic bags, and vacuuming them so that they are small enough to pack back into the boxes. This took about three hours. So be prepared, you are not getting a bed, you are getting a kit that you build, and it does not feel like the one you tested. I got a refund, but the whole thing was not worth the trouble. read more

We have had our Flobed for about 3 years and still love it. Easy to swap pieces during my pregnancy from hip and shoulders. Love the adjustable slat base that was helpful during pregnancy as well. Like other reviewers our traditional mattress wasn't cutting it after just a couple years of use. My brother and his wife raved about their Flobed and we made a trip to Fort Bragg for a day trip and tried the beds and pillows out. Ordered it on the spot and received the bed boxes within a couple weeks. Haven't looked back since. Worth the investment and will get our daughter her own Flobed when she transitions out of ours. Literally, some of the best sales staff I have ever worked with. The crazy part, is that I have never even met these people in person. I feel like i'm a part of their family and that they honestly care about their customers and their products meeting the standards of their costomers. I have been using my vzone bed for a little over a month now and my wife and I love it. I can also feel great about the fact that, if there ever comes a time when this bed doesn't meet our specific needs, I can modify it to whatever specs I want (i.e. firmness). If my wife needs a change because she is aching from pregnancy, there are ways you can help with that with this bed. It finally occurred to me after about a year of having a sore back that i might need a new mattress... so, i started reading about mattresses and reading a lot of reviews... looked up comparisons on "sleep like the dead" and came up with Flobed (which i'd never heard of)... anyway, my prior mattress was super firm... and the Flobed is not... so i thought that i wouldn't like it because it felt so "soft"... but, alas, it is so supportive and comfortable that i never want to get out of bed in the mornings... and, i'm not achy and sore like i used to be all the time. My husband and I had been looking into getting a new bed for a long time. We had our previous mattress for far too long, it wasn't good quality, and we were feeling the physical symptoms of it: sore backs and restless sleep. In addition, we just had a baby and were already getting very little sleep as it was! When we started looking for a new one, we decided that this time around, we were open to spending a little more money if we could get good quality and something that would last us a long time. Everything we read about Flobeds was just that and after speaking with the helpful and knowledgeable people over the phone, we knew it was the way to go! We love the fact that we were able to customize it based on what would fit our bodies best (I am 5' 1" and my husband is 6') and the way we sleep (I am a back/side sleeper and my husband is a side/stomach sleeper). It came disassembled but was very easy to put together with the instructions and a helpful video, easily found on their website. We also purchased the Euro Slats bed frame, which came with clamps that adjusted the firmness of the frame. These are removable and you can have as many or as little as you want- my husband has 4 on his side, and I have none. Simply put, we love our bed! We sleep so comfortably and soundly- in between getting up for night time feedings and diaper changes :) It is completely worth it! read more

We bought a "latex" mattress about 9 years ago. It started to sag so we went mattress shopping. We tried 4 different high end models and none were soft/supportive enough! My hubby found this site and we ordered firm soft soft for him and firm medium soft for me. Perfect! We are currently using our old box springs but are looking forward to upgrading to the slat base. It took me 10 years of researching mattresses before I finally plunked my money down on a Flobed. I considered a McRoskey, but went with Flobed because each side is totally adjustable to your comfort preference...so my side is a lot softer than my spouse's. It was also cheaper than McRoskey, and latex doesn't breed dustmites like natural cotton. And no constant flipping and turning needed. Latex also doesn't get hot like Memory foam, and they insert a "zone" section that supports your lower back: way more support than you get with a caving-in Sleep Number bed if you're looking for a soft (but supportive) mattress. Their latex comes in 5 different firmness levels, and you pick any 2, so there's a perfect fit for everyone. I got the Euro-slat foundation, which I highly recommend (unless you LIKE a really firm sleep). My bed is soooo comfortable. Smartest decision and best purchase I ever made. And Flobed service is unsurpassed; the staff are patient, polite and friendly & honest; you have 3 months to exchange your layers until the bed is PERFECT for you; a 20-year warranty tells you they stand behind their product. The best customer service ever, and the Latex they use is to die for, you choose firmness, there is an exchange for layers, to get the fairness you need, and no returning layers, comes in med size boxes UPS, so easy to put together, best cover I have seen on any bed, absolute luxury material, never Hot, I have ad 3 back surgeries 2 fusions, I was in constant pain, this helps because it's soft but supportive, Keeps your spine aligned., have cut my tossing and turning to a minimum. Best mattresses EVER! After trying out about 5 different kinds of beds and manufacturers, I will always buy another Flobed. It just doesn't get any more comfortable or custom than this. Prompt delivery and easy to put together. I downsized from a king Flobed recently to a queen Flobed and love it just as much. The king was still in great shape after 12-15 years, I just needed a smaller bed for my place. Don't even bother with other companies. Flobed stands by their workmanship and are the most customizable that I've found. They have a terrific replacement policy once you buy from them...as your needs change, you can upgrade parts of your mattress for very little money. Ask about this "Goldie Locks" program. Plus, you will never feel your partner flop around. Back problems are all resolved...even with a serious spinal compression fracture.
