When we moved in to our (then) new home, replacing the cheap carpet was our number one priority -- once we could afford to do so. We waited, and saved, over one year and when Floor & Decor opened in Albuquerque, we decided to make the change. We settled on a vinyl "wood" with cork backing, totally waterproof and generally scratch proof, and I can't stop smiling at the new look (and sound! my stereo fills the house, now) of our crib. I mean, we pimped the crib. Here's what makes Floor & Decor the bomb diggity: - Cost, first and foremost, right? We did a little price checking, the material was easily the most affordable around town, and installation was nearly half the cost of another company we'd contacted. - Selection. This store has literally any look and texture imaginable for hard flooring, and they'll let you take home samples of everything, for as long as you need, to make the right decision for your project. - Service: super solid. I'll admit minor qualms with over-communicating, in that, when we originally got the estimate, we waited about a month to make sure our finances were in order, and they called pretty frequently, wanting to set up the installation. That said, they were accountable, never pushy, friendly at the store and hardly aggressive when the final payment was due. - Ease. When you purchase from Floor & Decor, they handle coordinating the install with a local contractor, if that's what you choose to do. Finally, a big city store for a big city floor. read more

I went in looking for Quartz Countertop material for my Kitchen remodel. The place was HUGE, clean, and plenty of sales staff for the few customers I saw. I found it in the far back corner and checked our their display. I had questions and the nice guy who was assigned to this as "his" area - to my surprise - "didn't know squat about it!!" Seriously!!! I found myself explaining to him about Quartz properties, maintenance, etc. which he didn't know!! Plus, he wasn't sure about how it was priced even though a tag was posted but not totally clear. He did admit that he'd never sold or knew about Quartz, Granite, or flooring before BUT they hired him. He was college age with NO TRAINING or EXPERIENCE of his assigned area! NOT GOOD. I went ahead and picked out 2 small samples to bring home for approval; BUT, you must pay $5.00 each for the small sample chips. The price on these were way too much. $1.00 would have been better. I left with a feeling of NO CONFIDENCE in the materials, installation (which is separate), staff, coordination, and pricing. This place needs Experienced PROFESSIONALS working here in lieu College kids or whatever they hire. read more

Weeks ago we came to pick out our tile and finally came back to make our purchase. We stacked 32 cases of tile ourselves and when asked if we needed help out I said YES PLEASE! The checkout clerk called someone twice but no one ever came to help. I returned my cart and asked do you usually send someone to help with such a big order? She said yes I called several times but no one ever came. There were two other attendants (not cashiers) at the front and one reluctantly said I can help. At this point we had just finished our load and we're heading out so it was pointless. Service is a big part of business and should be priority and I didn't feel it was at your store. read more

Dropped in for the "The House That Love Built" fund raiser for the new Ronald McDonald House that's coming to Albuquerque. Got a chance to chat with several local contractors which was great because we're considering a remodel. After the introductions for the event we got a chance to walk around the store and get a good look at all the offerings. This place has quite a selection. Pretty much something for everybody from a wide selection of hard wood floors to ceramic tiles to to stone flooring in all shapes and colors. It took us over an hour just to wander through all the aisles and get a general idea of what was available. My very discerning wife found quite a few things she'd like to put in the house. The only thing I would offer is to put in some benches in display areas so people can sit down and look at the options for a few minutes. Poor customer service! Even management was no help. Went in to look at some tile and was ready to purchase applied for a credit card went to pay and they couldn't ring up the sale because there system was not allowing it to pull up a credit card to pay on their own system!!! Cashier asked manager he told her she had to call customer support there's nothing he could do. And the sale associate says for us to go back another day when it's fixed to make purchase. We ain't from town told her no and said she would call next day to help. Never heard back from her or the management team. you All lost a sale because you have a horrible sales team and management. read more

I came to Floor and Decor for tiles and supplies for my new bathroom on December 1st. Jeremy Hall, the sales associate shared his knowledge of everything tile. He helped me to make my final decision on tiles, assisted in choosing which grout, and color. it was truly a great experience. He was friendly and patient he spent the whole process with me including loading all the tile (at 62 lbs per box x 13 that is a lot, in fact about 800 lbs), all the grout and mastic (which was probably 300 lbs more) and then loaded it all into my car! I can not say how much I appreciated his knowledge and true excitement for my project. I can only believe that Floor and Decor treats their employees right. And, I hope that they lead some kind of shift stretching activities after all the heavy lifting. read more

My experience with this place, even though I'm the one contracting for a client and the client was with me (my thoughts being that I would be the one who would have to to search, hunt, and explain), was that the staff was so helpful and made the experience of remodeling less stressful on both the client and myself. Terrible service. They took my money then sold my materials to a builder, telling me I had to go on an indefinite waiting list. When I insisted on a refund the shipped the materials in from another state, or so they said. AFTER they'd already torn up my old tile they informed me they still didn't have all the materials I'd paid for and I should go buy them myself out of my own pocket. And of course, no one wanted to make it right or even take responsibility. I'll never use them again. read more

We used Floor and Decor and Installation Made Easy to install new marble countertops and back splash. So sad to say within the week we noticed glass rings etched into the marble along with deep etched "stains" in the pattern of liquid. We contacted Floor and Decor immediately. The installer came by and said "I've never seen anything like this, I can put acetone on countertops and it doesn't do this." Floor and Decor refused to send anyone out to inspect our issue. They told us via email it was our cleaner but when asked how can a cleaner make varying sizes of round rings they couldn't answer. It's kitchen countertops when preparing food you are going to get food and liquids on them and it shouldn't cause etching. Something was wrong with this marble from the manufacturer, perhaps not sealed properly I don't know, but I was so disappointed in Floor and Decor customer service. When we asked if the material was sealed no one could verify. Nothing on the market has been able to remove the stains and Floor & Decor has just stopped communicating with us. read more

I have only awarded this store a single star because it is not possible to give them zero stars. I ordered eight thousand dollars of tile from the store. Paid in full in cash. The tile was back ordered when I ordered it. The delivery date came and went. Three weeks after the tile was scheduled to arrive, I called the store. They said the tile would arrive possibly in another month or so. Did they ever think about calling me to tell me as much? Obviously not. The "couple of months from now" or "I don't know " answers I got related to delivery will not help me as I am trying to finish a home before interest rates increase. I know the store cannot control delivery dates on back orders. What upsets me is that they never bothered to call me concerning such a large back-order problem and waited for me to call the store to tell me that I probably would not receive the product, putting my back against the wall. Furthermore, I would have been able to pick up the tile through Floor and Decor in El Paso as they assured me that they could get the product that I wanted, and they were Eager to do business with me. Ask for Chris in the El Paso Store (a manager who really cares and went way out of his way to find the product). When I called the Albuquerque store, not only would they not even research the matter for me, that casted doubt on what the El Paso store had told me. Yet, they would not even call the El Paso store to see if indeed the product was available. Pathetic custom service on a large product order. Then it gets worse. I decided to buy an alternative product from the Albuquerque store. Store salesperson said they had product in house. Went to order the alternative product and found out they did not have it in house. Called the manager to get the straight scoop. Told him I would buy a lesser amount of the product if I could be called when the remainder of the alternative product came in. Rude store manager said that would not be possible...I would need to keep checking their availability. He also told me he could not hold any product until the next morning when I needed to drive back (75 miles) to the store just to get a refund on the first product that I purchased and never arrived. You get the picture. This store is the most uncooperative store I have ever done business with. They will not do anything, not a single thing to secure eight thousand dollars of business and in fact, the manager of the store seemed eager to give my money back to me. He was overly rude over the phone and not once did he offer any options, must less an apology, for the two months of misery that I had gone through just trying to buy some tile. Go to Home Depot or Lowes. You may not get the selection but perhaps you can speak with a salesperson or store manager who will give a damn. read more

Such terrible quality and service. I have tried for over a month to get an answer on backorder items. What was supposed to be two weeks is now over six weeks and still no answer. I get nothing but run around. When I talk to managers each one of them has a different answer, and false promises of a call back. At least 10 promises of call back that have not occurred. And to add multiple ignored emails. The product they sold me is garbage and they knowingly sold me this bad product. They no longer do business with the manufacturer and didn't advise me of this while I had my product pending. My installers said this is the worst product they've worked with. This has been the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. I will be vocal about this and let consumers know. At all costs avoid doing business with them! It's not worth your money or time. Almost $8,000 spent and I'm left with a bad quality product and a unfinished job. My dream of new flooring has turned into a nightmare. read more

They are AMAZING!!! My husband and I are remodeling our living room. We chose a tile, on our own, and brought samples home. After choosing a tile, we went in to purchase. Not sure of the choice we made, I consulted their FREE designer who helped us choose a better tile for the color scheme of our small dark living room. This is not specific to the store but ordering online. I placed a sample order online 8/22. I was charged via PayPal but didn't receive an order confirmation. On 8/23 I used their contact form to ask the status as it was too late in the day to call. Their automated email said to expect a response within 72 hours. No response. I called on 8/30 and was on hold 15 minutes. I was told there was an issue with their OMS and some orders were getting stuck. Don't use jargon with your customers! I should expect a call before the end of the day. Nope! Used their contact form again quoting the case number. No response. Called again 9/4 and was on hold for 10-15 minutes. Agent had no clue what was going on and said a supervisor and manager were handling it. It was above her pay grade. She really said that. She was sending an email to them all as she didn't know who was supposed to be dealing with it. Still no call. I don't blame the agents but management who appear to have created a culture where their staff are not empowered to help the customer. Shame on them and not the front line employees. I hold out little hope of a response after almost 2 weeks. Fortunately it was only $10 but that's not the point. No doubt if they do manage to get the order out the 7-14 day delivery will apply despite my attempts to point out this should be from the date I placed the order on 8/22. I don't know what the store is like other than they had a good selection at reasonable prices. Nobody asked if I needed help. It would have been easier if I could have just taken a single tile and paid for it there as I've done with Lowes and Home Depot. Based on this experience it would be hard to recommend them. read more

Horrible experience! Will never be back! Had a large order based off of one of their samples and yes you need to pay full price for them unlike the competition.... Anyway once we made our choice we returned to purchase a large amount of product and once we got it home and started our install we noticed that it was very different from the sample we purchased..... I returned to see if there was a mistake but was told that my sample was from a previous batch likely from several months ago and that they would look through stock to see if they may have a match.... Well no luck.... So my wife came to the store and found something somewhat similar and was willing to make a compromise to a similar less attractive product and asked for some compensation for our inconvenience and was surprised to find that their so called "tile department manager" by the name of Livia "Olive" Varela was as rude and obviously was never trained in customer care..... She simply told us that it was not her problem and there was absolutely nothing she could do for our time and inconvenience of hauling a large amount of product to and from the store.... Long story short... I have returned all my items including several thousand feet of flooring that would have been purchased from F&D!! I will never return and have let all my contacts...
