This portion of my review is for the customer service, design team and the purchasing process. 5 stars. Great experience. I first visited and selected my tiles for a bathroom 4 months ago. My project was delayed so I didn't make the purchase until August 5. Bobbie was terrific. Great ideas, patient, fun to work with. Great selection at many price points. As much as I prefer to 'shop local', I'm this case it just couldn't work out. I recommend Floor & Decor. Also, when just browsing the salespeople are not breathing down your neck. Now the pickup... As for the pickup process, I'm quite dissatisfied at the moment. I am holding off on an individual review for the pickup until I cool down. At the moment it's 0 stars. I am currently in the parking lot. I understand being short-staffed. However, common courtesy is lacking here in a big way. In my opinion this is a combination of passive customer service from the employee and downright rudeness by another customer. I walked into the pickup area and there was no one there to help. I waited a several minutes and then went to the cashier. They said it might be a bit but they would try to find someone. Not a big deal, I can wait. When someone came to help me he looked at my receipt and ID and told me to pull into one of the pickup bays. There was another customer (male) behind me waiting. Note: I was there first. The other customer and someone else with him were already pulled into the pickup bays. Common courtesy might have been to volunteer to move a vehicle and wait their turn. At the very least the employee should have asked them to move one vehicle. He did not even ask. It was not my responsibility or my place to ask them to move. Management implied this happens frequently and most of the time the customers already in the bay will not move. They loaded the other customer first which took an estimated 15-20 min. It was long enough for me to go to the sales floor and speak with the designer I worked with to tell them what was happening and write most of this review. Tiles were loaded in my car. My suggestion is to maybe place cones or something in front of the bays until the customer is instructed to pull in. I know it's a hassle but I'm pretty miffed that this pickup took almost as long as picking out the tile simply because a customer wouldn't wait their turn and the employee didn't even ask them to move! read more

I was remodeling my home and chose stones from this company and was told that they would be accepted back at the end if the boxes were unopened. I bought extra so that if some broke in the process I wouldnt have to return. Once the job was done, i took back the 3 extra unopened boxes only to be told that I would get a gift card instead of a credit. so, nothing is more annoying as having an employee tell you something that is then not policy. They have a 90 day return policy only. The exact same stone is still being sold. Not cool. read more

While I like Floor and Decor in South County (nice helpful workers and good selection), this location has some of the worst employees. I was checked out by Aly and I don't think I have ever had an employee be this rude to me. I will never set foot in this location again. She was so horrible I actually considered walking out without buying the supplies I painstakingly picked out. I will never shop here again. I would like Aly's employer to know that I was going to spend at least several more thousand dollars for my home renovation at this store but I will specifically be going someplace else because of this experience. read more

To start with walked into store was greeted. That was a good start ,but then had a bad experience with a employee that we found out her name was Victoria and it was a meeting that left a bad tast that almost made me want to leave. This employee was very sarcastic and rude, and the person made my wife feel like she was stupid. That made me want to leave but my wife wanted to continue and I'm we did . This store has everything! The name should be the Floor and Decor Superstore. Customer Service Rep Khadijah assisted us in our selections and was very patient while we wandered and pondered. She even stayed past her scheduled shift to assure our experience was smooth and met our expectations. The room vignette displays will have you swooning and tempted to go all out - and beyond your budget. Don't say I didn't warn you! We used the ideas for design inspiration. We purchased flooring, bathroom mosaic and kitchen backsplash (white subway tile). We also purchased wooden heat registers to match our bedroom hardwood floors. We compared Floor and Decor to home improvement stores, specialty stores, and looked online too. Floor and Decor selection is endless, pricing is fair and at EVERY price point-just what you'd expect from a superstore. read more

BEWARE NEW RETURN POLICY!!!!! Finally found the tile I wanted for two bathrooms for a fire renovation for my home. Went to pick up enough for one bathroom and it was on sale so I picked up for both. Got the tile home and it was horrible. Extremely brittle and just poor quality. I am not stranger to cutting tile but when doing cut outs for vents and toilet flange the tile would snap almost before I could completely get the blade through it (plan B was from Lowes and had no issue cutting it). Due to the pattern variation I had to unbox and lay out the tile before actually doing the job. After going through 4 tiles for my vent and after my 3rd (very careful) attempt at the toilet flange I realized it was not going to work and decided to return the tile. NOPE! I get to the store with the tile and they tell me they can't take any tile back that has been removed from the box. I asked if that included issues with quality and they told me it could not be returned. Spoke with 2 managers and they just said they couldn't do anything because that was their policy. They actually suggested that I sell it on FB marketplace as if I am going to subject someone else to this low quality garbage. Personally I think they knew what they were selling and that is why it was on sale. It seemed there had been some returns at some point as there were tiles strapped together rather than in boxes but my return could not be accepted. Now I have to wonder if they will take back samples or leftover tile from projects like they used to say they would. I could see if I had just changed my mind, but in this case the quality of the tile was just substandard and I feel it should have been returned on that alone. So now I have about 150 sq ft of Fossil Smoke (in case you were thinking of buying it, pretty as long as you don't have any complex cuts) tile that I wouldn't even put in a house I was flipping. I will add that everyone I spoke to was very professional and the managers seemed to be handcuffed by the policy. Either way, I will be hesitant to buy there again if this is their policy. A shame because they do have an awesome selection, but I'm sure I can find what I need elsewhere. read more

A review of our flooring purchase: The store is very impressive with an incredible number of design options to pick from in each dept & a good variety of price ranges. We were looking for bamboo flooring for our home project. Wanting a better quality floor, we decided to do a section at a time. The young man that took us around was professional . He had good knowledge of flooring & assisted in our selection.We then wanted to find out about installation & he brought over a man to schedule a measure/quote. We found out this would also be the installer & he seemed professional in the store. He set up the appt, came to our home & we showed him what our initial round was for flooring & what we would ultimately like done, & asked for a quote for both to see if we may be able to afford to get more installed on the initial round. We ended up going with an office, entry/ hall, & dining room. We didn't include the additional area of a landing since the 38 sq ft for the landing area was quoted out an extra $2.35 / sq ft than the lower level. It made no sense to us, & this small area had an additional 10% waste added in as well. We asked about an install completion before the end of year so we could use as a deduction for taxes and was assured this wouldn't be a problem. So we did not interview any other installers, even though this was higher ($4.62/ft) install price than what we had expected after doing some online homework. The installer seemed so professional talking about his "crew" that would be arriving and how he would be calling for feedback if he wasn't there, etc. He gave us a 12/30 completion date. We had homework of cleaning out the 2 rooms, closet, and hallway before tear out began, along with removing anything on the walls that could fall from the hammering. So after going out of town for Christmas, we rushed home on the evening of the 25th to quick get everything into our living room. It was utterly packed with our things. Day one no show due to rain. Then he showed up with no crew. Late but not super late. He had a boyfriend of daughter along to help him, his other person was sick from deer hunting. I don't think one other person would mean a crew, but to him it must have. That person never did show up the entire process. Then it continued day after day, excuses of going hunting, my "crew" is sick, the boyfriend of the daughter has to leave to go work at the cinema so I have no helper, we have another project, no excuse just doesn't show up, or came 2 hours late & leaves after a few hrs. And then the phone calls- it was never ending. Now mind you this is just an open floor install. I have family coming in for a visit & no place to put them as our home is utter chaos; I can't even cook a meal as the kitchen counter is covered as well . Had I known it would end up taking 4 times longer than we were told, I would have went with a cheaper company. Like a fool, I agreed to the higher install price because of our time constraints, believing he would be true to his word. One other thing we were not forewarned about was that we would need to replace all the base boards. They were all ruined in the tearout. I asked about a replacement and was quoted an extra $900+ for that! We also have places in the wall broken out that have to be patched. I knew in my heart it was done deliberately to get more money from me so I just told him my son in law would fix it. Last week, less than 3 weeks after the install, we have boards already separating and gaps between the boards. Although he left us the roll of underfoam layment, what I caught after he left was he had been keeping for himself all the cut pieces. They could have easily been used in our linen closet when we started the next round on the upstairs landing and into the bedrooms. I paid for that wood and he had no ownership to that. On the last day before he was finishing up with the boyfriend of the daughter, his grunt, his "partner" shows up. I realized why. They stood around me as he hands me his cellphone to give a review of their performance and pay by credit card for the balance of the install. To say I was a little scared is an understatement. They all heard me give my card number and details. And I had to just give them a good review because I just wanted them gone. And I immediately had my card number changed as a precaution. I called the store manager after a few days of calming down and shared my story. And although he seemed sympathetic to what happened to me, no restitution was offered for my taken product so now I even have to wonder if the store isn't involved in a resale or repurpose operation since it is bamboo. I don't know, but with everything that happened so many suspicions are rising up inside of me. I was played a fool in this. But I can guarantee one thing, we won't be returning for any more flooring over this experience. read more

My husband and I visited this store to look for floor and wall tile for our basement bathroom, really clueless about what we really wanted to do, when this wonderful woman named Victoria Craig asked us if we needed help. Victoria is one of the Designers in this store and she was amazing! She walked around the store with us over the next hour or so and put together 2 complete options for our bathroom that we needed to go home and decide on, which we did! We came back the following weekend with our decisions made and she made sure we had enough of everything, including helping us choose our grout color and getting all we needed for our project! We could not have done it without her! I recommend this store and Victoria to anyone, as all employees that we came across were all so friendly and helpful as well. I really like this place a lot. There was only one time that I had a run-in with a guy (who I think was the manager) who seemed very perturbed and like I was bothering him asking where something was in the store. Other than that though, I think their prices are really good and they have a big selection. Also, their design services were great. Victoria met with me two or three times to nail down my choices for tile and grout for my master bathroom. It made the whole process a lot easier having another set of eyes. This had to be the worst customer service I have seen when it comes to a building supply store. The guy in front of us waited 2 hours to get his flooring and it was sitting by the loading dock ready to be loaded the whole time. I would of had better luck loading my own vehicle. In the amount of time I waited (1 hour 45) I could of packed the pallet myself and loaded into the truck in half the time. Its not even like they were busy it was just me and the customer in front of me. I would not recommend shopping here. read more

The Durock I purchased would not fit in the back seat nor in the trunk. But, they were patient with me and helped me figured it out! The Janitor was helpful too! He gave us great suggestions on how to solve the problem. I got some straps and some towels and they helped me mount it securely to my car's roof. The best customer service I've encountered in St Louis. I must let you know that I do not like to shop. Especially for big purchases like wood flooring, tile and countertops. So many levels of quality, colors, thicknesses, prices etc... I've been shopping for 5 weeks now looking for these things. Been to several stores. Customer service either wasn't there or seemed put off when I said I was on a budget, looked bored OR about the worst: couldn't answer my questions about the product(s). Yesterday, Anderson, greeted us at the door. He asked what we were looking for and proceeded to take us to the first item. He took us there! He stayed with us! He explained the display. He answered questions. He showed us the displays up at the front. We then looked at the two other items on my list. Anderson stayed with us. He was not pushy or bored. He was knowledgeable. First time buyer from Floor & Decor Bridgeton and I'm super happy my research brought me to their store. I've been researching materials, visiting local stores and the typical big box home improvement centers for months and didn't find the quality I wanted at the price point that wouldn't break my budget. I found their products to be high quality at a very reasonable cost. I wanted a modern/contemporary look for my renovation and was very happy with the tile and stone choices offered. The sales associate (Victoria) was awesome to work with, she was very knowledgeable and spent a great deal of time with me reviewing the various material choices, colors and options that allowed me make several improvements I didn't think was available. Lowes and Home Depot isn't in the same league (past purchases with regrets). I will also be using Floor & Decor in the future when rehab is needed for my rental units because they have a good range of offerings.
