Floorgate was a subtractor for Home Depot. They were to remove an existing kitchen floor, save the old cabinetry quarter round, lay the new tile, install new baseboard, reinstall the old quarter round. Easy. If you want all the details I have explained it at length on the Home Depot site. When you are disrespected in your home as the customer, mislead and ignored by both HD and Floorgate, and basically treated to zero professionalism , you get a one star. They were true professionals and they did an amazing job I can't speak highly enough of them for anyone dealing with floor gate I would tell you to ask for Chris. Not only did they finish the job in a reasonable timeframe but a lot of detail went into the work to get it done in a way that went above and beyond the expected job. Such as some of my steps were not in a good condition and per their advice they were able to fix the damage parts and make them as brand new. You'll run into them from Home Depot, as other people have mentioned. They were installing our faux wood flooring. Basically they've been blaming the product as being terrible for all the issues, and we're currently in some ridiculousness with Home Depot over that (it doesn't connect seamlessly, it wobbles underfoot, the floors are not even . . . although, the install guys are supposed to level the floors . . .]). The install is taking longer than they expected, and the guy showing up here is clearly annoyed he's had to come back so many times. So are we buddy. Yesterday, when he was finishing up I asked that he clean up the front of the condo complex. Our balcony hangs over the entryway, and he'd been sawing out there all day, pissing off our neighbors with the dust and the sound. I showed him what I meant and he got a broom and said okay. I felt bad for the guy, so I went upstairs to get my broom too. I saw him going back to his van (I figured to get his swiffer style mop thing) and instead, he just drove off. The installers arrived on 4th of July 2019 (yup I know it's over a year later, and they STILL are trying to fix their mistakes), despite me asking if they would like to reschedule. When they got here they were rushed through everything trying to finish in a day, mind you my home is two stories. Then when they get to installing my stairs, first they didn't even bring enough stair noses, I had to go back to the Home Depot (who hired them, I am doing my flooring through Home Depot and Home Depot hired out independent contractors and sadly they hired these guys) and buy more from my own pocket to replace the ones they broke. Then they mismatched the pieces they placed on my stairs. They have sent 2 different teams, and both of them keeps leaving mistakes that they keep sending others to fix. A third team was on the way as far as they had told me, so I cleaned and made room in the house for them, stayed up til 6am making sure they would have a clear workspace, then when they aren't here at the time we had agreed on I finally get a call over from Home Depot and they say to me oh by the way Floorgate just informed us they aren't coming... Just save yourself the wallet-ache and the massive headache you're going to get trying to work with this company. My nephew and his plastic tools could probably have done a better floor installation. I'm practically on a first name basis with their supervisor Gary. Last time we spoke he said he himself would come over and inspect the work since I have had to get in touch so many times over the beyond bad job his employees are doing. Surprise surprise, when it was time for him to be here he was a no show. I still have to call them all the time and try to get an update as to when they plan on completing the project I paid almost $20,000 for!! read more

They did an excellent job, arrived on time, showed me how to turn off the water and gas and were done in about 6 hours. The flooring is installed well, with no gaps and well fitted. Khachic was careful to show me possible existing problems around the toilet that need attention. Above all they were pleasant and professional and the flooring looks great. Floorgate installed our new luxury vinyl flooring last week and the installers did a fabulous job. The project also involved demolition of our tile kitchen and entry way floors, and brothers, Chris and Dave did a wonderful and meticulous job. Everything was great! They were able to schedule the installation within a couple of days. 2 people showed up the day of and were very friendly and professional. They helped us move some items in a closet that we had not yet emptied which wasn't a part of what they had to do. I asked them to leave some left over carpet so I could install it in a closet that wasn't a part of the original job and they ended up installing it for me. Very nice, courteous and hardworking. Art is inexperienced, He doesn't know how to install carpet over an electric heated floor. Art is also negligent. We told Home Depot from the beginning when we ordered this carpet that we had an electric floor, and every time Art, whose Floorgate was assigned this carpeting job from Home Depot, called to confirm, we repeated the information about the electric heated floor. But the day before the installation, when Art called again to confirm, this time he denied knowing anything about this electric heated floor, even though Home Depot's measurement document says HEATED: Y, ELECTRIC: Y. This couldn't have meant our home's heat, because that's gas. This time Art said, "What? This is the 1st I've heard of this. We don't do that. Can you remove the heated floor?'". We then spent way too much time arguing with Home Deport about replacing the carpet that Home Depot had somehow been able to install over the same heated floor 10 years ago before firing them for their incompetence. Anyone even marginally competent can do carpeting. It's one of the easiest home improvement jobs there is. An electric heated floor is unusual but not rare, and it's certainly not beyond any competent carpet installer. But Art/Floorgate is not competent. read more

This company is the worst. Stay away. Those positive reviews are probably friends of the company. They started with having someone drive to Long Beach from Lancaster. He would get to the house at 11am and said he had to leave at 3:15pm. He started the demolition and on the second day he gets in a car accident. We waited a month for this appointment and we were out a washing machine,dryer, toilet, and stove, for 5 days . I did the demolition myself and called Todd who said he would refund the demolition. I told him John is working by himself and he said his partner could not pass the back ground check. We need another person to do the job with him. Todd said he would work Saturday for sure. Todd called Saturday and said John was at the doctors office and he could not work. Todd kept saying he was going to get someone else to help out but that was a LIE. We called Floorgate and told them we would not want them to do the job since they lied and broke the contract. It says worker will be no more the 30 miles away. I called Todd to remove his tools from my house as they were in the way now. He hung up on me, so I took all the tools back to Home Depot and told Home Depot that Floorgate are no longer allowed at my home. I received almost a full refund and did the work myself along with googles help. I would never use Floorgate ever. I would not recommend them at all. read more

As a real estate professional I only refer my clients to vendors I have used and Floorgate is the best flooring company in town. Not only do they come out and measure within a couple of days but they provide excellent customer service when you go to choose your flooring. My partner and I just flipped a property in Los Angeles and Gary came out measured the home and gave us some tips on which flooring would work due to the slant in the floor. We picked out an amazing engineered wood with Art and had it installed within a week. I highly recommend them for any carpet, tile, wood or flooring. Great set of guys. Floorgate was assigned to install our carpet that was bought from Home Depot. Avoid getting assigned Omar from Floorgate - he is rude and unprofessional . He refused to scrape the old staples on the floor and just installed the padding over the staples without even pounding down the staples and actually said "leave me alone ". The other carpet installer was Manuel was much more professional and his work was much better - if it wern't For Manuel - we would have asked them to leave. Worst experience of my life! Do not hire these people! They were hired through home depot so we have paid up front for the service of removing carpet and installing floor. They've been to my house twice and never did anything. They REFUSED to do the floor plan we requested and were told ahead of time it can be done and i checked with other contractors that it can be done. Because of their refusal we had to hire a 3rd company to do what they want. Then because the 3rd company was late which is out of my control, they refused to wait the 5 mins it would take for the 3rd company to arrive. They complained that I have dogs and its going to set off their allergies then they want the 3rd company to remove the carpet since it would make their allergies worsen. Absolutely unprofessional company. Do not hire them, especially if you have any pets! Don't want to upset their delicate sinuses. Plus they won't do the work anyway. read more

Artin was the sales representative that helped us through the options in flooring and finalized the contract. He responded quickly to all inquiries and was very courteous. I have done the hardwood floor from a handyman who did not do a good job He did the stairs from garage to living room and the living room...The stairs have small nails which hurt us when we walk without footwear The next job for my bedroom and stairs from living room to the bedroom were done by Floorgate They did an excellent job and they used glue for the stairs...Hence No nails and I can walk without any nails poking me ...even if I dont use footwear They have done an excellent job read more

Floorgate was the installation company used by Home Depot to install carpet in our new home. They were very flexible during the scheduling process and kept us informed throughout. We forgot to include a small closet when measurements were taken, but they had materials (pad, tacking and carpet) to complete the closet with the rest of the rooms at no additional charge. The installers were professional and knowledgable. The carpet was installed in the time estimated and looks great. This was the second time this company installed carpet for us and both experiences were consistently good. We would definitely work with them again! read more
