The two rooms adjoin at two different doorways, so the flooring had to flow into both rooms. After weighing the pros and cons of many types of flooring, we decided to go with hardwood. After shopping hardwood at all the big box stores, we were more confused than when we started. A couple years ago, my wife had read an article on Speed Hardwood Floors. She suggested we visit them to see what they had to offer. On our first visit, the office manager Chelsea walked us through different types of wood, stains, plank widths and finishes. Then she gave us the bad news. Since every floor they sell is a custom floor, it normally takes approximately four weeks from ordering to finished product. Additionally, the flooring has to be delivered into your home at least three days prior to install on so the flooring can acclimate to your home's temperature and humidity. So from order to installation, you're normally looking at approximately five weeks. Since our kitchen cabinets were already scheduled to be installed in three weeks we had a major problem. We explained our timing problem to Chelsea, and she told us she would make a couple calls to the mill and finisher to see if they could rush our order. Chelsea made it happen and had our floor milled and finished in two weeks. Also the owner, Reggie, lined up an installer on short notice. Reggie also personally delivered the floor to our house with the help of two young men that carried each bundle approximately 100 feet and up a few steps into my house. It's been about a month since we ordered the floor and we are now living on our new floors. They are beautiful! Both Chelsea and Reggie have been extremely accommodating and delivered everything as promised and more!

When he came to give an estimate he told me the stairs needed fixed because they couldn't put carpet on them and it was an extra 325, which is understandable, so I have him install carpet and after a month I have an inspection of the home completed, the stairs failed because the tread wasn't up to code to short, I messaged him and ask him if he could reinburst the stairs fee or come back and fix it, he tells me that's not his problem he is a floor guy and that's the first time he's ever heard of someone coming after a floor guy and I should contact who built the stairs, that's the reason of the extra charge to fix the stairs besides that the original stairs passed inspection they were up to code, until they were cut flush instead of being fixed correctly, so don't go with this company they over charge for stuff they don't do then try to say they didn't do it and it wasn't included in the price.
