We did make several inquiries into the subcontractors who perform the carpet installation which seemed to take the salesperson by surprise but he did give us his card and ask that we get back to him with the measurements. We emailed the same salesperson the next day with our measurements and he responded with an approximate price - but nothing else. He did not ask us if we wanted to move forward with a purchase of carpet nor did he offer to send anyone out to our home for more exact measurements. We have heard nothing back from the salesperson or Carpet King in over two weeks so it would appear that they are not interested in our business.

Josh was our salesperson, and was tireless, knowledgeable, and patient in working out different options and educating us about the pros and cons. We did some comparison shopping. BCO's good pricing, their responsiveness and promptness, and them doing their own work (not subcontracting) were compelling, so we went with them. After we ordered the work, BCO was able to put the job on schedule within days. The BCO installers accidentally installed the vinyl plank in the wrong area. This error also led to some other issues. When BCO realized this, it immediately acknowledged its error and responsibility, and worked to correct as soon as it could. The BCO installers were back the next day to start addressing the issues, and Eric and another employee even visited the job after their workdays, just to evaluate and determine solutions. Matt (general manager) got involved at the end to make sure that we were satisfied with the resolution. (We were!) However careful a company is, some type of error will happen sometime to that company - that's a fact of life. How the company - and the people at the company - respond sets the great ones apart. And Bloomington Carpet One, through its actions and the actions of its employees, clearly distinguishes itself as a great company!

After the installation I discovered heat wasn't working in the unit which caused a few wrinkles in the carpet when we had the cold snap around New Years. Reached out to Mike and he had his son come out and stretch the carpet again, after which it looked great. The job was done right from the beginning and I'm impressed that he backed up his work even though the lack of heat that caused the wrinkles was my problem not his. I love how it looks and how it flows seamlessly from the Living Room/Dining Room space to the Kitchen and even in to the small bathroom. I have been walking on the floors barefoot since they were installed. The installer did a good job on the thresholds. Both the kind that lead to an outside door and the difference in the color of the plank into the bathroom space. The Owner Tina was great to work with. I will work with Seestedt's again when I update my stairs and upper level of my home. I see my hometown is listed as someplace in California. Not true, Saint Paul Minnesota suburb.

I am disappointed in the installation of 10 inch Marmoleum squares in my kitchen floor by…read moreJ.O.Thompson, as there are several places around the edges where the squares are not stuck to the floor. I prepared the floor exactly as Chuck at J.O.Thompson suggested. Chuck inspected the floor before scheduling the installation, telling me the floor preparation was very good. I specifically asked Chuck about the samples which he provided, which were not flat, and if this would affect how they stayed stuck to the floor. Chuck assured me his installer would stick them firmly to the floor without a problem.

The Women's Drum Center was doing a major facelift to create a percussion appreciation center. The…read moreold carpet was from a big box store and had duct tape along the seams of the three sections. J.O. Thompson was recommended to me and I could not be happier. I met Chuck at the store to discuss my issues and we scheduled a visit to the Women's Drum Center where they made recommendations for a transition edge to allow us to move loading carts over the edges and not create a tripping hazard. They also recommended heat sealing the 3 sections so it appears as one large piece! JOT came in the day before to remove the old carpeting allowing us to mop the floor. They ran the new carpeting all the way to the wall providing a much cleaner look and cutting around a large column. The quality of the new carpet is so nice on bare feet. The work team was efficient, respectful and did a great job cleaning up after the installation.

We engaged John last November to do knock down ceilings and paint our entire house after he completed a very nice job on a flooring project the year before. This new project did not go well. We discussed and agreed to the project schedule and expectations. What transpired was a serious lack of transparency and management. We were taken advantage of including paying for work that was never done and were told it was, hurried work that required rework multiple times, schedule slippage by multiple weeks causing us to incur additional costs and rescheduling subsequent contractors. John discussed making things right, however we were well past the point of allowing for this to continue and paid for a different contractor to finish the remaining rework.
