Both times I had to leave after waiting 45+ minutes with no luck- I just couldn't wait all day. I have no clue why this location seems to run like the DMV but I would avoid at all costs. Theres a location in Jollyville not much further thats way better. Go there.

When I arrived, there was 1 person in front of me but I waited less than 5 minutes. There is only one person work in this lab. The tech was really good in drawing blood. Quick, efficient and painless. I took one star off as there were signs everywhere saying furniture is disinfected after each guest. It doesn't look like it. The tech works alone including being a receptionist. It will be a lot slower if he has to do that too. There is also a sign at the front saying there is a disinfectant for check-in tablet, it's none to be found.

They have 5 locations in the Austin area and this one near 183 and Balcones Woods (not far from where I work, thus my decision to go here) is a fairly recent addition. Online appointments are theoretically available at https://www.labcorp.com/labs-and-appointments, but they also take walk-ins. Note that they are closed from 12:30-1:30, so dropping off a sample at lunch may be a challenge. There seems to be a trend in clinical lab chains these days to try to staff the locations with a barebones "team of one" who has to do everything from phlebotomy to security to administration to janitorial services. That must help the bottom line somewhere, but it makes the patient/customer experience a total frustration from start to finish. Case in point: this site for LabCorp (well, at least the comically accurate name previews the impersonal treatment you can expect). First off, the website and outgoing phone message give you absolutely no clue that you are actually heading to a building in the Seton Northwest Hospital complex. After following my Waze/Google/Yelp map trifecta to ensure I was going to 11111 Research Blvd, I wasted about 20 minutes driving around in circles looking for the listed address on a sign, a marque with the business name, anything to suggest that LabCorp was nearby. Nothing! I wasn't the only one, either, as I later saw 3 other cars apparently doing the same bewildered slow drive around the parking lot and surrounding locations that I did. When you call the listed phone number, you only get an automated message with minimal information and no ability to speak to a live person to ask a question (because the only person there is busy doing EVERYthing else in the office). Is it too much to ask to add one more sentence to the disembodied voice message which says, "Located in the Seton Northwest Health Plaza building in the same medical complex as Seton Northwest Hospital"? Once you finally get to the correct destination, posted signs indicate that you will not be treated as a human being but rather as a potential threat or criminal. Need a drink of water? The sign says to ask permission before accessing the fountain; who can give permission if the only staff person is in the back taking a sample from another patient? Happen to have your kid with you? Good luck with this errand because they can't come to the lab bay with you and you can't leave them unattended in the lobby. The self-signin machine was out of service, so you had to wait your turn to speak to the single human employee onsite. And so on. I photographed only a portion of the many ominous & paternalistic directives around the room. I was the 2nd customer in the room when I arrived shortly after the posted open hours, but it still took about 15 minutes until I was able to have my lab samples taken & sign all the necessary paperwork. The patient before me was berated for not properly registering his appointment and from the waiting area, I was able to hear his entire interaction with the lab tech, something I'm certain breaks HIPAA (medical privacy) best practices. I also was not pleased with the paper sign-in sheet which was viewable by everyone and requested the patient's full name and time of arrival; I did not comply and simply wrote my initials. My interactions with the lab tech / do-it-all person were as pleasant as could be under the circumstances. I believe that she was doing the best she could under conditions beyond her control. For her, I'm leaving 2 stars rather than the 1 that this experience warranted. Next time I need to have a lab sample analyzed, I'll choose another company, even if I have to drive out of my way to do so.

I spoke with a few lovely folks to get my insurance squared away, and a very qualified nurse to hear if a visit was needed, and within an Hour, the team arrived and got to work making her feel better. Now looking back, I should've switched providers. My water broke on thanksgiving day and I called Emma to let her know, she argued with me saying it was probably my mucus plug still coming out. I wanted her to check, so I went to the birthing center. She was rude and said "since you were ADAMANT that your waters broke, you're now on a timer to be in active labor in X hours and I don't have any herbs to get you there because I just had a birth this morning" this caused an anxiety attack because this timer was never mentioned until now. Instead of checking my waters, she wanted to check my blood pressure. Since she caused my anxiety to spike, my bp was high. She rechecked it 2 more times after continuing to spike my anxiety with random comments. Then sent me to the hospital with my paperwork. She did not come to the hospital with me and after I got settled and realized what had happened, I didn't want her there. She wouldn't answer the hospitals phone calls. Looking back, I'm happy she didn't deliver my son.

The PA, Gladys Huertas, would not even look at it before declining to treat me. This is absolutely horrible medical care, especially given how minor this is. I just didn't want to let it go to Monday from Friday evening and did not feel that I needed to go to an emergency room and sit for six hours give or take. It was oozing a little bit and just felt that antibiotics would probably be in order. My surgeon is out of the city and wanted to get something sooner. I would not recommend going to this clinic for anything other than putting a Band-Aid on a small cut to make somebody feel better because they obviously cannot give any level of care above that! I worked the medical field for 20 years as a registered x-ray technologist.

It was terrible and I struggled to walk or get into places because of that fatigue. I came with my boyfriend who assisted me to the clinic. I gotten into their registration via paperwork and online they wanted both. I sat back down and was told to come into a room. The tech came to get vitals then a APN came. She was nice and not rushing me. She did a test on me which concluded into diagnosing me with COVID and the flu. So no wonder I felt like horse dung. That was back in November. Then, I came here again to be diagnosed with the flu for children. Again, I was treated with quality of care which the front staff and NP were extremely nice as well as patient. The consistency matters and with St. David's Medical group you get that. Both times I was prescribed medications which aided in my wellness. The waiting room is clean and they have television playing movies. Each time I'm sick in Austin, I'm coming here without a doubt.

They also have an in-house phlebotomist. A particularly appreciated this having had poor experiences in the past with annual blood draws. I would definitely recommend Dr. Grossmann, and her whole staff for your medical needs. The staff is polite appointments are almost always on time and run quickly and smoothly. I feel like I have plenty of time to discuss any issues or concerns without being rushed but also don't spend a lot of time waiting within the appointment to speak to anybody.
