After researching online and calling numerous florists in the Concord, MA area, I quickly grew…read moredisenchanted with what should have been an easy, feel-good experience: sending flowers. Granted, it was 2:30pm on a Wednesday afternoon and I was hoping for same-day delivery, but the arrangement was just going to a local hospital--totally doable, right? Wrong. So very wrong. Several online vendors immediately declined the order due to timing. One shop told me they could accommodate my timeframe, so I asked if I could email, text or verbally share a link with the arrangement I had in mind? This was met with an exasperated sigh, followed by an explanation that they didn't have those flowers. Mind you, this was before I even described it or sent a link/photo. Next. When I stumbled upon Copper Penny Flowers' website, I was instantly drawn to their fresh, modern arrangements in stunning colors--a far cry from the ho-hum, generic selections I'd seen everywhere else. I figured they'd be way out of my range, but when I called to inquire about alternative options, Caroline couldn't have been more upbeat and helpful. Unlike so many others, who led with what they weren't able to do for me, she asked open-ended questions and suggested minor tweaks and modifications to mirror the essence and volume of the design I envisioned, kept it within my budget, and was able to include same-day shipping in the final price we agreed upon. She designed an arrangement over the phone that utilized my favorite blooms in an incredible color scheme, in a gorgeous, contemporary design. Better still? She let me know that they'd deliver it within the hour. Done and done! Needless to say, it took all the pain out of purchasing a floral arrangement across state lines, and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. Kudos to Copper Penny Flowers! I have already added the florist to my contact list for any and all floral needs in the area. May the small, local florist--who actually collaborates with the customer vs. a borg with zero flexibility--continue to bloom and thrive!

I see that a couple other reviewers had the same experience as well so it doesn't seem to be a one-off moment. We came here for a Christmas tree and were pleasantly surprised by the selection (December 7th) of really good quality trees and lower prices compared to other places we've bought from in the past (ranging from $60-$80ish). Of note they take cash or check only, they do have an ATM, and the prices listed are a few dollars short of the actual price you'll pay. The teenagers working at the tree stand were very pleasant and got a fresh cut on the tree and strapped it to our car securely and efficiently. The turn for the worse came when we went to pay. The women was talking to us like we were children which was very odd and belittling (hard to portray tone but for example when I handed her the cash she went '$70, oh good job!') then when handing me back change she goes 'and your change to the food pantry?' and drops my change in a donation bucket before even finishing the question...I literally was reaching my hand out to receive the change and she just decided not to give it to me or let me answer the question. I was honestly pissed off about that. It's my money to choose what to do with and socially, how rude is it to put people in a position to have to fish their change out of a donation bin if they hadn't wanted to donate it? Overall, the woman at the checkout really tainted this place for me by straight up not giving me my change back and I don't plan to return.
