They picked the dead flowers up and David never tried to rectify the situation - he should be ashamed of himself. My parents' friends in Sarasota sent two bouquets as the florist did not have an arrangement that was in the amount they wanted to spend; so, they ordered two huge sympathy bouquets. This old man showed up to deliver your flowers today. He was extremely rude and used foul language in the presence of elderly people, then proceeded to tell off the management team when asked to deliver them to the apartment they were meant for. I can't believe you employ people who speak like that with no reason to! He should be ashamed of himself speaking like that in front elderly women! Your delivery driver is giving your company a bad name! Keep your flowers, I'll buy from a professional company who doesn't employ people who speak with foul language to seniors. Flowers received were a poor choice of colors-all lavender except 3 dark red roses on one side. I understand it is too cold in wintery New England to leave flowers outside, so why didn't they call or leave with a neighbor like other florists. Instead they opened my door, without my permission to leave flowers in my dining room. Luckily my dog didn't escape. read more

I had planned to provide the floral arrangements for the bridal shower of a daughter of a friend of mine but underwent surgery and was unable to leave the house to buy the flowers. I called David at Colonial Gardens and explained my predicament which was not least the fact that I was operating within a certain budget. Received flowers from this shop as a gift. 3 days later flowers were dying. If you are buying from this shop, better pick out the flowers yourself. Don't rely on them to send fresh flowers to your friends and loved ones. You would probably to better to buy at the grocery store. Quality would be better. read more

I ordered a flower arrangement for a funeral. The lady on the phone was very nice, and they agreed to deliver the order on a short notice. Unfortunately, the quality was dismal. The thing that was supposed to be a standing wreath, fell apart and started to look like a bowl with yard waste. A dozen roses from a grocery store looked better than my $275 flower arrangement. I ordered flowers from Colonial Garden's for my wife's first Mother's Day. They knowingly sent the wrong flowers because they "ran out" of the arrangement I had initially ordered--there was no forewarning or reach-out to ask if I'd be okay with a completely different set of flowers. Further, the flowers they did deliver were of poor quality and terrible taste (i.e., vase, balloon, flowers) ... I would have been better off picking some weeds from the side of the road. I ordered flowers as a special gift and this is the florist that delivered them. I saw a photo of what was delivered and I'm absolutely appalled. I've never been so embarrassed to have sent flowers in all my life. The arrangement was supposed to be large and round and full and lush-looking -- I paid for the largest size option of a specific design -- and what was delivered was small, skimpy, lopsided, and amateurish. The stem count was maybe half what I paid for. It looked like a child went into someone's garden, picked a few stems and stuck them in a vase. There is no balance, artistry or design to the arrangement. I can't even believe the florist let it go out the door like that, given what it was supposed to look like. Not to mention they didn't deliver same-day, which I paid extra for. In addition, the florist substituted flowers without notifying me, and they changed the vase and the ribbon. They put completely full-bloom peonies in the arrangement instead of the lilies, which means they'll be dropping petals in 1-2 days. The florist also inserted long stems of a spiky flower like stock or delphinium, which stick up like antennae about 4-5 inches above the other flowers instead of the whole arrangement being round and full and beautifully designed. I called the company with whom I placed the order and the rep personally contacted the florist to have the arrangement redelivered. This florist refused. The florist said the arrangement was beautiful and just like the photograph on the website that I ordered from. This is a lie. It looks NOTHING like what I paid for. It's unconscionable that a florist can get away with this. Don't trust this florist for gifts for anyone you care about. To be clear, because the florist refused to redeliver, the company I ordered from is refunding me and I appreciate their gesture. But sadly, that doesn't help my disappointment at this failed gift, nor my embarrassment. I've never written a negative Yelp review before but I'm so upset this time I had to say something. read more
