Floral Terrace knows how to throw a wedding. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Cocktail Hour: Tons of food options, but honestly the food was just OK. Everything was kind of bland. The space for 200+ people was fine, but it got very loud in there. The good news is that there were a ton of tables so most people were able to sit. Only one bar, so it took awhile to get a drink. The staff was very on top of cleaning dirty dishes from tables as well as making sure they hit everyone with the passed hors d'oeuvres. Reception: The reception room was beautiful, with a lot of character. The dance floor in the center of the room is elevated which made it easy to see what was going on during the night. The room acoustics were very good. Dinner food was better. The pasta was al dente and tasty and the filet mignon was cooked as requested and super tender. The coffee served was piping hot and the wedding cake was delicious. The Viennese hour had loads of options. Cotton Candy, chocolate fountain, waffle station, cakes and cookies galore. The waitstaff was really on top of keeping water glasses filled (which I always appreciate). Tables were set beautifully and were not at all cramped. Bridal Suite: While I was not part of the bridal party, I did see the suite and it was huge. Multiple rooms with tables chairs and couches so everyone had room to relax before cocktail hour started. From what I saw the bridal attendants went above and beyond to make sure the bride was taken care of. Floral Terrace seems to have a lot of character and offers a lovely backdrop for a wedding. I was guest of a wedding recently and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The place it self is beautiful and bigger than I thought once inside. For a wedding of 125 this place didn't feel to small or to big. The decor doesn't seem to be to much that one couldn't make it fit their style. However if you wanted to keep it as is, that would work also. I like that the dance floor was in the center and two steps up for the tables. There are two bars to service the guests, so if you have more people at the wedding the bar will always flow. The entertainment staff was great. The host definitely got people in the dancing mood and kept the party jumping. The reason for the 3 stars is...the food. .....which always seems to be the star killer is definitely not as good or beautiful as the place. Cocktail hour is where it's at... The food is flavorful and good. When you get upstairs you will endure a filet mignon that is lacking all flavor what so ever, a chicken that's a bit dry. My advice is to bring Tupperware and fill it up with cocktail hour food and eat that during dinner. I know to some the food isn't a big deal.. But when it's over $60 a plate it better be good... At least provide the tables with adobo or some lawrys. read more

Frank is the man. I booked this place for my reception 11/17/18. Everyone loved how well staffed the venue was, their glasses were never empty. I had nothing to do on my wedding because Frank and the maitre d'hotel (don't remember his name) did a phenomenal job making sure everything was set to my instructions and the even started and ended on time. The venue itself is beautiful and spacious! 3 floors all to yourself. I had dessert brought in from outside and the setup was elegant! I was just expecting it on trays and but nope! It was so elegant and nice! I would recommend this venue to anyone looking to book, it is a bit pricey but so worth it! They will exceed your expectations! read more

Let me start off by stating that this venue is absolutely gorgeous! I had a great time at a good friend's wedding, too! Food: the cocktail hour stole the show, really. There was so much food available that merely "trying" everything would probably make anyone full for an evening. My favorite items were the Paella and fried calamari. There are a few areas that this venue can improve upon: if you are setting up hibachi grills, remember to ventilate the room! Secondly, employees who are severely allergic to shellfish probably shouldn't be serving Paella and fried calamari. The main dining room's food was great, too! Lamb is highly recommended! They even came around asking if anyone needed seconds! Service: many of the employees at this venue all look under 18 years of age. It's amazing that they do such a good job, but experience matters, too. Examples abound, but I won't list them here. More training will prove fruitful in the future. Decor: this venue is so beautiful, with its elevated dance floor, colorful lights, and beautiful chandeliers, it certainly is a great place to get married. read more

I attended a wedding at Floral Terrace on a Sunday. The space itself is beautiful- a theatre that was converted into an event space. The first floor was where the ceremony was; beautiful furnishing. My one frustration was the columns placed in the aisles. They completely obstructed the views of the bride and groom. They were too high, even in standing position, we could not see over the floral arrangement. If we opted to move away from the aisle, there was a load baring column in our way. It was not ideal but we made the best of it. The 2nd floor was a wonderful room filled with food! Wall to wall buffet for the cocktail hour with a bar. We tasted as much as we could without running out of precious stomach room for dinner. The bar was stocked with top shelf liquor and we helped ourselves to some lovely grey goose martinis - probably my favorite thing about the wedding, aside from the bride and groom. The top floor is the reception area. It is a beautiful ball room with a dance floor that is semi closed off which makes it almost like a stage. I loved the placement of the guest tables; everywhere we were, the bride and groom were at the center. The food was good and the wedding cake was my absolute favorite. A lovely venue! read more

Beautiful. So surprising to have such a nice Wedding hall in the middle of... well Jericho Turnpike! It is so easy to get to by car. The positive aspect about this hall is that it is very beautiful with an atrium with marble and light and rocks. There were cozy sitting areas for the general guests and the bridal sitting area was also cozy and comfortable. They are wheelchair accessible via elevators. Parking via Valet. I can see that the staff would easily be overwhelmed by two weddings but one single wedding at a time makes for attentive service and a grand time. The food was catered from outside but the waitstaff were still good about providing service so long as there was only one event being hosted at one time. Incredibly disappointed! Booked my Daughter's sweet 16 celebration at the beginning of March for a late May party. Covid hit and everything was shut down. After continuous attempts to rectify the date and situation, I was told that my deposit was non-refundable. Apparently, the deposit was to be directed to "paperwork and processing fees". Considering the situation, I was disheartened not only by the lack of respect, but the lack of communication in light of the world wide situation. Apparently they would rather keep my $500 deposit than retain a possible customer for future celebrations. read more

My husband & I held our wedding ceremony & reception at Floral Terrace last Sunday. The staff/coordinators were extremely helpful from the moment we signed on the dotted line up until our last guest departed. My only issue was that the ceremony area was very stuffy & apparently the air wasn't turned on until my father inquired. I'd like to think that in a room of 150 people, adequate air circulation would be a priority. There were some hiccups beyond our (my husband, myself, & the venue's) control however my maitre d team, ESPECIALLY Tino, stepped up & made sure our day was perfect. This is by far the best wedding venue. I couldn't have picked a better place for our reception on July 22. Paul and his team were amazing from day 1 and made this whole process seamless! Tito and Joe were absolutely amazing!! Trust them!! They know what they are doing. Rico and Erica were the best bridal coordinators ever! They were by our side every second making sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourself. Every guest (all 250!) could not stop talking about the venue. Amazing decor and even better food! We're still getting calls saying this is the best wedding they ever been too. I can't stress enough how amazing these guys are! Venue: This venue is absolutely gorgeous! There's lots of beautiful spots to take pictures (stairs, pond, piano etc.) Decorations were elegant and the entire building is well taken care of. This is the type of establishment that only hosts one affair at a time, so you do not have to deal with guests from other weddings running around on your special day. I worked in this place briefly during high school, and if you are thinking of shelling out the big bucks to have your wedding here, the staff will take very good care of you. All of the food is very good for catering hall standards and your guests will definitely be impressed by the viennese tables if you opt for them. Seriously, it was like something out of Willy Wonka setting those up. If you have the money to spend, this is a fine place to get married. Expect to spend 120 a head, minimum. read more

I am so excited to write this review. We had the most amazing experience at Floral Terrace. Our wedding was a fairy tale. We all go to dozens of weddings, and many of my wedding-experienced guests said this was the best reception they had ever attended. Hardly a day goes by that a guest doesn't tell us how much they enjoyed our wedding and reception. Although we wanted a wedding that was meaningful to us, the most important thing was that our guests have a great time with drink, food and entertainment . We wanted them to know how much they meant to us. Floral Terrace exceeded our very high expectations and so much more. We were actually concerned, when we first met with Frank and his staff, that they could deliver everything they promised, it almost seemed too good to be true, especially when we compared it to the ten other LI reception sites we visited while planning. We did, however, have a very good first impression. We liked that it was one wedding at a time, that they had so many years of experience doing weddings, and, especially, that the hall itself is historic and just beautiful. We booked about 18 months in advance, which is highly advised given the craziness that is Long Island weddings, and not once did we have an issue with communication or contact. We took our parents to a tasting and were treated to a great sampling of apps and entrees. Frank took time to meet with us, even though he had a wedding going on, and was extremely nice to our folks. In the end, we had no doubt about it, this was our place. During the entire planning phase, I must have emailed or called about 30 times. Each time they were nice and helpful. Made recommendations for our DJ and photographers that turned out to be perfect for us. Gave us great suggestions and ideas based on decades of experience. By the time of the wedding, I had given them page after page of special requests and set-up instructions. I don't think they said "no" to one of my crazy demands! On the day of our wedding, we met our banquet manager, George, who clearly had matters in hand. Our entire wedding was a little ahead of schedule and George was right on top of it and kept the flow moving along so that our guests were never without beverage or entertainment. We, just married and a little dazed, were shown the cocktail hour set-up and the ballroom to make sure everything was just as we wanted. I cannot tell you how my heart leaped up when I saw all my planning laid out before me just as I had envisioned. Everything was exactly as I hoped, and even better than I imagined. Of course, the main event and real test is the food. We were lucky enough to be able to get a top-end package(which was still less cost than many other places we looked at) and even then we made some special requests. They did not miss a single note. The food was cooked to perfection, served at the perfect temperature, in beyond plentiful portions, and displayed beautifully. The service was impeccable. None of our guests waited a moment for anything and were even offered seconds of the main courses. I saw Frank, who I believe is one of the owners, filling water glasses to help his staff. Our guests have said that the only problem with the food was that it was so good and there was so much of it, that they couldn't manage to try everything because they were so full! I really wish the wedding could have gone on all weekend so that we could all properly enjoy our reception. We had a Viennese hour which was stunning and elaborate. They started the hour by turning down the lights and shooting flames from the crepe pans! I saw grown men walking around with cotton candy, it was so much fun! Needless to say, our parents were very proud and we were just thrilled that everything was so perfect. Even after the wedding, Frank was so gracious. We had brought box after box of decorations and linens to the wedding, many of which had to be picked up afterwards. Frank let us get them at our leisure and had them all nicely packed back up for us. There's really no way to do Floral Terrace justice. I could not recommend them more highly. I only hope that we get invited to an event there soon so we can experience FT as guests! Of course, the wedding just flew by and two years of planning was over in a blink. But we do have all our photos and video to remind us of what a wonderful day we had. We have nothing but absolute appreciation for Frank, George and all the staff at Floral Terrace. We can only hope that all our days together are as perfect as our wedding! read more

My husband and I got married three weeks ago and held our reception at Floral Terrace. Our guests had a phenomenal experience and we truly enjoyed everything about the venue! We worked with Paul for several months leading up to the event and he was super helpful, always available to meet or answer any of my questions. The day of was perfect. Everything was set up upon arrival, all of our guests were taken care of , the food both cocktail hour and dinner was delicious, our cake looked and tasted incredible, and our guests tore up the dance floor! Well... A place that greets me with a mimosa is a place for me! My fiancé and I came to Floral Terrace today to look into them being a possible venue for our wedding and after meeting with Paul for at least an hour...They turned into our definite venue. We fell in love with the ballroom. The set-up, the up lighting, the linens, the two stationary full bars, the bride and groom table.. We just loved it. They have a bridal suite and a groom suite.. The room for the ceremony was nice - I agree with a previous comment of the ceremony area seeming a little dated but everything else about the place made me not care about that. My fiancé actually loves the ceremony room so..just proof that it's a matter of your taste. And now, what sealed the deal for us, was Paul. He was so accommodating and patient with me and my big-book-of-wedding-stuff and my questions and really seemed happy to work with us and our budget. It never felt like I was being fed a bunch of nonsense.. No hidden charges anywhere- just seemed like I was dealing with a genuine honest man. We have a tasting next week but as of now.. This is OUR venue and I couldn't be more excited. Paul was awesome and I look forward to planning my wedding with them! read more

My sister in-law was about to book this place for her wedding but after a food tasting she changed her mind. When we pulled up they had on only 1/2 the outside lights. The downstairs bathroom was very tight and had bright pink soap bottles that had dripped all over. The Cocktail Room was very nice and the Grand Ballroom was pretty. It was different then others we had seen. The Set up is strange because it is all one wedding but on 3 different levels so there is a lot of walking up stairs. The place looked ok and was a good price but the food was just not good and that was during a tasting where they are trying to impress you. My poor sister in-law was so upset with them. read more

Completely underwhelmed. Came here for a wedding a few nights ago. The cocktail hour left much to be desired; I came hungry and left hungry. The food, both cocktail and dinner, was overly salted and lacking in flavor. The only edible option was their fettuccine Alfredo pasta. As for dinner, I ordered the French chicken, which was overlooked and dry. The accompanying red potatoes were over cooked as well. I tried my sister's steak which was also over cooked- a reoccurring theme with the food here. The place looks old and needs so revamping. I have been here twice in the last 4 months. Once for a wedding and once for New Year's Eve. The Wedding: it was a fun wedding overall. I definitely felt that the entire party was rushed around alot. We weren't done with one course before they were bringing out another one. The food was good, typical catering food. Except the salad. It tasted like straight chemicals. And EVERYONE at our table said the same thing. It was totally unedible. Minus 1 star there. The day was fun, and overall I enjoyed our experience. New Year's Eve: We went in a huge group. Tons of couples. We got a definite head count when we placed our reservation and the girl who placed the reservation told them, it was ALL COUPLES. Then when a couple of ours went to pay, they were turned away and told there was no reservation. Our party does not live anywhere near Floral Terrace. And so they had to drive all the way home, only to drive back after we called. (They hadn't updated their list of reservations). We also called to find out how the seating arrangements were going to work. They told us we would be split up between 2 other tables. Half of the couples at one table, half at another. That was fine. Then they called to say it was going to be a third of the group at one table and 2 thirds at another, but still even numbers so our couple can seat together. Still, fine. Skip to the night of, they tell us it will be 5 of our group at one table and the rest at another. Really? The girl who planned the entire night had to fight with the staff and only after demanding management and a refund was anything done. Not cool for a group spending over $2000. Minus 1 star. Overall the night was fun and I really enjoyed myself. The food was better this time (although I was too busy dancing to eat the salad lol). The Venetian hour was awesome and all the sweets made my night! I hope that the next time I come here there will be no drama. Everything was perfect from signing the contract to my day of I Do's. We got married on December 3rd, and guests are still raving about how beautiful the venue was, how they've never had so much food at a cocktail hour, and how great the staff and service was. When I first arrived, the outside did not excite me... but once I stepped in I was in awe! I thought "How could I afford a place so extravagant"... but they work with you. I was able to have the wedding of my dreams! The ceremony room was beautiful in itself. Nothing extra was needed. The bridal suites were HUGE!!! A large room for me, a separate area for my girls, as well as a common space worn couches and tables. We had our own cocktail hour in our suite which was amazing! The reception ballroom is huge and beautiful! The stage makes it extra special. I love this place and I wish I could give them 10 stars! The staff was nothing short of amazing! I just attended a dinner dance here. I felt like I was in some sort of strange Victorian spaceship. The food was decent (chicken cordon bleu with smashed filet of sole?), but I think it was because I had a decent amount from the open bar. The drinks were fairly strong too! WHAT WAS GREAT THOUGH: (1) clean bathrooms! (2) appetizers!! ohhh yeeahh coconut shrimp!! The acoustics aren't to die for though...but maybe a NYC School District Sponsored Event doesn't need to have a great DJ. I agree with the other reviewers. This place is a steal, and absolutely beautiful inside. Renovations in recent months have really done a lot to update the look of the venue, a very pleasant surprise when i was there this past month. Honestly, I find the reviews by both "c" sisters rather ridiculous. I have been to many events at this venue, large and small over the years - one thing that has always been consistent in my experience has been the food. Always in over abundance and well prepared. This is a beautiful spot. I went last Sunday for a wedding and I was blown away by how beautiful everything was arranged. I didn't even take any pictures so my apologies. The staff was very friendly. Cocktail hour was poppin. (Try the calamari!) my only complaint was that the food was a bit cold but I personally like my food to be scorching hot lol. Unique venue / banquet hall - very deceptive from the outside, hard to tell the luxury and vastness of the space from the outside as it is a square building with a few stories. Very nice decorated interior with attentive staff - each floor opens up to some really exquisite sized banquet areas. Was truly blown away by how well arranged the space was given the dimensions of the building. Really great sized party halls and great variety of catering and nice service. Location is very convenient as well (i.e. jericho turnpike). Their main staircase wraps around and serves as the entry point to each floor's hall. The only thing I found unusual was the main banquet hall : interesting concave roof structure, but felt like the center of the roof was low to the ground - I think if they were to change anything it would be redesigning that main banquet area to give a ceiling a raised look and overall brighten up the feel. Overall a very nice place for any event / gathering - would highly recommend if you are looking to hold an event. Tip : Unless you are really late to your party event or really want to, probably would not valet park -- if you arrive early enough to your event for this venue there should be plenty of street parking available due to convenient location. read more

To start off George and my bridal attendant Michelle were so attentive to my entire bridal parties every need. Frank the banquet manager worked with my husband and i on every detail, he was patient and understanding throughout the entire process. The food was great and you received excellent portions and even a second. My guests raved about the service and quality of the food. The ambiance was so romantic and classy. I have been on a hunt for a venue to hold a wedding for up to 150 people or more. When my fiancee and I walked through the door of Floral Terrace, we were thrown back by the beauty of this hall. We both envisioned our first dance in the ballroom under the beautiful chandelier. Being that food is an important part of a wedding, and my beau is in the industry, we requested a food tasting. I was confident that the food would coincide with the magnificent place. I WAS WRONG. First the cocktail food that was brought to us were just okay, nothing wowed us, but when they serviced the pasta, OH MY GOODNESS! IT WAS CRUNCHY! and they told us its called 'al dente'.I personally like al dente, but this was raw. Not for nothing, but us Italians know how to make a plate of pasta (but the sauce was good). Then they told us that on the day of my wedding it would be perfect. The sad part is that it WAS someones day! But we continued, they brought us filet migon, shrimp, salmon, rack of lamb, and stuffed chicken. The filet migon was over cooked and the first taste was burnt meat, the rack of lamb was so dry and tough and hard to chew, that I would of been embarrassed to even present it. But the chicken,shrimp and salmon were good. When we told them our concerns, they attacked us saying that's how lamb is supposed to be cooked. Again, they are insulting my intelligence as well as my fiance's intelligence. Not once did they apologize for their mistakes and they made us feel uncomfortable. I LOVE THE BUILDING and the ROOM, but no bride should have to worry about the quality of food presented on her day! We were at a food tasting where this is their opporunity to impress us, but instead all they did was insult us. I fell in love with something that did not care enough to wow us. From Valet, to entering the building was nice, Ceremony was great, the cocktail hour was fulfilling, one of my issues when we arrived in the main room to be seated was that their were not enough chairs to seat everyone. It took a little while for the staff to understand what was going on. A few of us were just standing around for awhile. We were then ask to show our seating cards. Which to me meant they did not believe us. I feel like the organization needs to be better. Check the place cards against the number of seating arrangements you have prior to guest arrival. The staff were okay, very serious, not smiling much. They did however make sure the tables were consistently clean, glasses were filled with water and napkins always folded. Which was nice. The only other thing that bothered me was that while we were eating the staff came around to collect the numbered frames off the table. I understand that the wedding is not all night but I don't like to feel rushed nor do I like ppl reaching over to grab something off of the table while I'm eating. Food was decent. The wedding itself was amazing. The snacks after the wedding outside the wedding room was a plus, the bride was so shocked and happy. read more

I just had my reception at Floral Terrace on 12/10/2011 and it was AWESOME!!! My fiance (now my hubby ^_^) and I were looking around for something nice, decent price and easily accessible from Brooklyn where my ceremony was held. Lo and behold, we found Floral Terrace. Frank took care of us and was very nice, understandable and just all around a great guy. Everything from payment, to cake, to favors, the FOOD......oh my God the food was heaven...everything was just perfect. And what tops the cake is the fact that you are the only ones there. So literally, the whole place is just for you and your guests!! That just sold me right there! The day was perfect, the service was perfect, no complaints!!!
