A beautifully constructed and eloquently designed venue. What's eye popping is the 40 car parking, underground. Can not find that elsewhere in Queens. I visited Maleen in early September as a guest for the wedding of an Indian coworker. The positives: 1- It's very easy to get to, right off the parkway. 2- While the outside is nothing to look twice at, the inside was impressive with gorgeous marble flooring and elegant lighting . 3-The inside was also sparkling clean. 4- Service was very nice; various drinks brought to the table several times and staff was prompt in removing used dishes and glasses. The negatives: 1-While it appears to be a relatively new building, not much thought went into parking, because when both banquet rooms are booked as was the night I was there, the parking lot was full and street parking was a not that easy; I had to park 3 blocks away. 2-There was another event taking place on the second floor the night I was there and the sound proofing in the building is not adequate as we heard the radio upstairs blaring during the wedding ceremony I was at downstairs. 3- There was open row seating area in the middle of the room to watch the ceremony but not enough chairs. I heard someone ask staff to bring more chairs and a few more were eventually brought in, but it was still short. 4- While not necessarily a negative, I found it odd and cheap looking that a LED "OPEN" sign is in the first floor window of the banquet hall and was lit during the wedding as if it was a public event. I cannot comment on the food since I do not eat Indian cuisine, but others at my table seemed to enjoy it and I did not hear anyone say anything negative about it. read more

I recently had my baby shower at Maleen, and unfortunately, I would not host another event here. One of my biggest concerns was how the reviews were being obtained. I personally watched the owner, Manny Singh, repeatedly approach my guests asking for their phones for Google reviews and then hand the phones to Heena, who assisted with the reviews. After witnessing this firsthand, it makes me seriously question how many of the overwhelmingly positive reviews are completely organic. Reviews should be voluntary -- guests at someone else's private event should not be badgered for their phones to generate them. There were also major preparation issues. Our decorator arrived at the agreed 8 AM time, but nobody was there to let her in. She had to call and wait for someone to arrive, putting her behind schedule. Additional tables we requested in advance weren't set up either. The cleanliness was unacceptable. The floor was noticeably dirty with visible brown liquid stains near the front. We pointed it out and were told someone would come mop, but nobody ever did. Our event started at 11:30 AM, but the bar didn't begin serving until sometime after 12 because nothing was prepared for the bartender and she had to set everything up herself. She was WONDERFUL and worked extremely hard -- this was absolutely not her fault. She was also the only bartender, resulting in long lines. Raj, the manager, told us he would help her but never did. Even more concerning, I personally saw AND heard Manny Singh repeatedly standing over the bartender's shoulder telling her NOT to pour so much liquor. Despite the bar starting more than 30 minutes late due to the venue not being prepared, the liquor was still taken away immediately at 4:30 PM without making up the time we paid for. I also have questions about the leftover food. Near the end, trays were freshly refilled, only one or two people ate from them, and then the nearly full trays were taken away. We weren't offered the food we paid for or told what happened to it. Lastly, Raj approached me in front of others about tipping the waitstaff, which I found very unprofessional. Tipping should be handled privately. We did tip -- the bartender was tipped very well, I ultimately tipped a waitstaff member, and the valet gentleman, who was very nice, received $50 directly from us in addition to whatever guests gave him. The venue itself is beautiful, and the bartender and valet were great. Unfortunately, the management, cleanliness, lack of preparation, and service overshadowed the positives. After what I personally experienced and witnessed, especially regarding how Google reviews were being obtained, I would not host another event here. read more

We completed the work as agreed and paid our employees for every event. However, obtaining payment for our services became an ongoing struggle. Even after many conversations and attempts to resolve the matter professionally, part of the compensation remained unpaid. What made the situation even more concerning were accusations involving allegedly missing money from a guest's vehicle. The details of the story changed over time, and when a formal investigation was suggested, it never moved forward. We acted professionally throughout the entire process and made every effort to reach a fair resolution. Unfortunately, our efforts were unsuccessful, and we suffered financial losses as a result. Based on my personal experience, I would encourage contractors and service providers to exercise caution and ensure that all agreements are thoroughly documented before doing business with this venue. read more

Travelled nearly 2 hours for a tour where Raj couldn't be assed to show up, leaving us with one of his staff members who didn't know what to do with us and left us in a random room while Raj proceeded to have a meeting with another family. The staff member couldn't answer a single question and told us to refer to Raj but he was with another family anyways so how am I supposed to ask this man any questions? Why would you schedule a tour with us and then meet with another family instead? He then wouldn't discuss pricing with us because our parents werent present but I'm the one paying for the wedding? Anyways the whole tour experience was a clown show and if the service is this bad before booking imagine after lmao. read more

The manager is great. He was very kind and easy to work with. Held an event here and everything was almost perfect. The staff harassed my dad for a tip at the end of the night and sound system did not work well for some of the performances. Food was excellent. Good location and the room looked great. The service I received there for my wedding was mediocre at best. The management quoted us $2000 per hour when we sought to extend our celebration. They charge you for everything, including meal tasting. We didn't receive what was promised. For example, they don't arrange your décor, such as placing candles on the table. Tipping all of their employees is required at the conclusion of the celebration. The service was passable all around. read more

If you want your party to be shitty, this is the place to go. These guys served our reception of 250 plus people with just a handful of servers. My wife and I ordered food from the bridal suite, which wasn't delivered for 2 hours. Also, the bridal suite didn't have the air conditioner running for 2 hours. My wife and I were sweating. We called the reception desk multiple times requesting food and the AC to be turned on, but no one cared. Nobody was there to remove used plated from the tables. Nobody was bringing water out to people. Of course, my wife and I were not aware of any of this because we were sitting in the suite and not eating or drinking. Despite our family complaining multiple times to the owner Mani Singh, nothing was done. Mani Singh was serving the bar himself due to a shortage of staff. Since this hall is brand new and looks nice inside, we were unaware of their poor service. When we put the deposit down, all the owner talked about was how he spent $11M on this hall. His $11M is no good if he's not going to hire enough people to serve my wedding reception. We heard similar complaints from some other people as well, but this guy promised us nothing but top-notch service. Hence, we were misled by his lies. We were left disappointed. Our guests that came to be a part of our big day from all across the country were left with tables full of plates and no water. Some of my very close family missed a significant portion of the party because they were following the owner around to get stuff out to people. You're better off going to a banquet hall that's older and is less flashy than this one but has better service. We walked away disappointed. I will never step on this property again, and I suggest you find another hall for your big day. read more

I walked in for dining and I was gracefully greeted by staff. THIS PLACE IS HUGE!!! My group and I sat at a gorgeous table and room surrounded by ambiance lighting and superb service. The food and drinks came quickly. All staff wearing masks and gloves it made me feel safe. Their naan was delicious and found the various foods we ordered to be well cooked and nicely presented. We were sitting in the hot summer weather with no AC. We spent more than $19000 with no AC bad food quality. The manager Shaheen was so unprofessional and was trying to take more money from us when we already had a written contract given on filed. They don't know anything about there own equipments and when you try to speak to them about it they would be very rude and nasty toward you all they know how to do is take your money from you since thats all they care about . my cousins traditional arabic wedding was held here. the party was women's only and the hall made sure there was no male workers there during the party. the haul is absolutely gorgeous with the most beautiful detailing. we had the curtains closed and it was even better than with them opened! there is an elevator that takes you upstairs to a beautiful roof (that you can seat guests), two private rooms for the bride and a big bathroom. owner was really nice and accommodating to any of our requests. great food great drinks and most importantly impeccable service. would a hundred percent recommend this haul. read more
