I never paid attention to this building, except to wonder how a little pink "fashion" store on Albion could do enough business to survive.  I went because, while shopping for a wedding outfit, I realized I needed a bra fitting after losing weight.  My aunt, who lived in Wakefield for a long time, suggested Florence's. Walking in, the place was very crowded with a wide variety of styles and a ton of heads with wigs.  Honestly, the shop did not seem like the place for me.  I figured I'd get a bra and then go shopping for clothes. I was very surprised to find everything I needed and some items I would not have considered, but she asked me to try on for her!  The shop owner, Barbara, is really good at what she does! I am not a fashion-focused person, I like sticking to timeless staples with a funky twist and comfortable shoes. But, not only did I get a good fitting and a bra I love, but a bonus stylist who worked with me, showing me a variety of options, really listened to what I did or didn't like about each and  helped me craft the perfect outfit for the wedding and a great bra!  I think everyone should go, alone bc it is tight in there, and just see what she has for you, it's fun. I've been to Florence's fashion a handful of times, and I have to say,she has some u inquest pieces there . I like different pieces that I don't see anywhere else . Her prices are also good. Such a little jewel in the town of Wakefield! When I am in the area, I LOVE stopping in! The store is bursting with goods and it can be a bit overwhelming, but all you have to do is ask for what you are looking for and voila! The owner produces a plethora of options. Even if you have no idea of what you want, the owner can tease it out of you. I love the fact that you can be fitted for a bra in such an intimate setting without all of the comings and goings of a large dept. store. The owner is friendly and accommodating and always makes me feel welcome and much to my surprise she is always dead on with sizing! I am very confused by this shop! I am not from the area so maybe I am not in the know about this store. I was looking for undergarments for my wedding dress and my seamstress recommended trying this store. I will start off by saying that I am not super picky when coming to stuff and I love second hand stores and love finding good deals... Maybe this is a place to only get second hand clothes or costumes (there was a lot of St. Patty's Day stuff - as it's the week before when I write this) and clothes for plus size women... HOWEVER, I would never EVER buy lingerie here. Ever. The first couple of racks had a lot of consignment items - they look like they have been there for years collecting dust and strewn all over the floor were random boxes, foundations, bras, shape wear - you name it. The place just came off to me as dirty and dingy and I would never buy lingerie here based on the (non) cleanliness of the store. The owner seemed very nice, but she was helping another girl get into a St. Patty's Day costume and did not bother to ask me what I was searching for even though I had to ask them to move twice to get to the back of the store where I thought I saw some bustiers or lingerie. (I was wrong - just large sized shape wear and more boxes of random bra's all over the floor and random stuff!) Again, not sure what the purpose of this store is - but other shoppers just be warned - NOT lingerie store - NOT good for weddings. There was an upstairs - not sure what is up there? All I know is I was too grossed out to ask or check it out. read more

First off, for a crossdresser, Florence Fashions is the place to go and really the only place dedicated to crossdressers in Massachusetts. Florence is an absolute sweetheart and extremely helpful. Ive been there numerous times before with the same attitude as before, welcoming me and immediately helping me. I was there on 10/14/15 and picked a few skirts, tops and wig and while trying them on, she was handing me other items to try on that i actually didn't think id fit into and i bought. I modeled a few skirts, tops, dresses with thigh highs for her, walking around in the store and she was amazed on how my legs looked. I totally enjoyed being dressed there and will be going back as soon as possible for more items. The store has everything a crossdresser needs or wants at a reasonable price. Do not be nervous, walk into the store and you'll feel like your at home. I'd love to go out to events with her because she would be a lot of fun together! read more
