The entire experience was unpleasant. I brought my mother in to look for mother of the bride dresses and I really wished I did not. The shop is small and had a very small selection. At the time our appointment and the two women were helping another group. The entire time our stylist was more focused on the first group. My mom and I never felt welcomed in the shop and it was easy to see just on the interactions between the other group and us. We had an hour appointment and only stayed for 20 minutes. read more

I can't not recommend Gianna's more highly. I have done business with her before but now it was my daughters wedding. While shopping for her bridal gown , Gianna recommended a dress for me . I wasn't sure because I had my mind set on pink and this was a blue/ silver . But I trusted Gianna and oh my was she right . The dress was extraordinary , fit perfect and was perfect for the venue. DO NOT SHOP AT GIANNAS! Worst experience ever! The employees there are super sweet and accommodating but the owner "seamstress" is a wretched nightmare of a human being. So unprofessional, after trying to fix my poor mothers dress for the wedding like 4 times and lying about it several times she ultimately told us that "if you want the dress to fit right you should have bought a different dress." The store owner is totally rude. I called the store to inquire about bridesmaid dresses for my bridesmaids. I asked about a particular dress to see if they carry it and the owner so rudely asked me if I was planning to order the dress at the store or was just planning to come to the store to try on the dress and order it online. She said "it's starting to feel like my store is paying the rent for these online stores." I never once suggested I wasn't planning to purchase from the store so for her to proactively make this assumption was rude and insulting. I'm a huge supporter of local businesses, but not ones that are rude and unprofessional. As the bride I've been so overwhelmed by the kindness and great service I've had with most vendors - Gianna was an exception to that rule. You want everything associated with a wedding to be pleasant and fun, so it was a huge disappointment to have her be so rude over the phone. She totally lost my business - I am definitely not having my girls buy their dresses from Gianna! The quality of the dress and alterations was pretty good. However, the number of times I was left waiting around was irritating. I needed a bridesmaid's dress (all the bridesmaids lived in separate states, so I was the only one in this shop). I was first there in June. I called ahead, made an appointment, but when I got there the salesperson couldn't find me in the book, so I was kept waiting for 30 minutes. Later, the salesperson found out she was looking at the wrong week. This was a trial run for the dress; the bride was trying to get a feel for what kinds of dresses worked. I came back a couple weeks later with the final dress style number. Wait time was ok. I put a rush order in, and came back in mid-July. This time I was kept waiting for 2 HOURS. Outrageous! The salesperson told me it would be an hour, and I spent the time at a nearby shopping outlet. I tried on the dress, it of course needed alterations, but the dress itself was fine. I scheduled to come back in a couple weeks on a Wednesday. A rep called the day before and told me it would instead be ready on Friday. Thanks for the advanced notice- I couldn't come by Friday. I wound up getting the dress on the following Monday, which was nerve-wracking since I was leaving the following day! To top it all off, I came 30 after my 12pm appointment but was kept waiting for 45 minutes. So the seamstress arrived over an hour after the appointment was scheduled. Tl;dr Quality of work is good, but expect to be kept waiting for over an hour after your scheduled appointment. read more

BRIDES BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This place is horrific! What a dump, the owner is rude and the prices are outrageous. I went there for a bridesmaids dress. We ordered them by August 1st for a wedding in the first week of December per the shop to have them arrive in time. The owner called the bride in October and asked her to pay $20 per dress (there were 8 dresses ordered to rush the order or they wouldn't come in time!!!) They didn't even come in until November! Once they came in I went to have the dress altered, the owner Gianna pinned the dress after I waited there for 20 minutes while she finished a personal phone call. The alteration was all wrong and I had to wait an hour while the seamstress fixed it. What a disaster. I would NEVER EVER recommend this place to anyone! I have had better luck at David's Bridal in Danvers and for a much better price!!!! read more

I had a really great experience here! The ladies that work here are really welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The dresses they have a beautiful and they have a wide selection of bridesmaids dresses as well. I ended up buying my wedding gown here and got it off the rack (there's a discount if you buy off the rack), I purchased my veil here as well. It's a small boutique shop with a lot of dresses but not a lot of space, there are 3 or 4 dressing rooms, 1 is bigger for trying on wedding gowns, the others are better for trying on other types of dresses. There is a lot of inventory to try and they are very good at knowing styles that would be good with your body type. Gianna is A' mazing! On a short notice, I was asked to be in a wedding in South Africa. To top that off, the dress had to be gold sequin. With little options available to buy off a rack, I needed the option to order one. I found the perfect dress at the Alfred Angelo store BUT they told me even with rush delivery, I would not get the dress on time. On a whim, I took a chance and called Gianna's Bridal (who carries Alfred Angelo) to see if there was anything she could do and sure enough, she said she would be able to make it happen! The dress arrived with less than a week before I had to leave and she was still able to accommodate getting the alterations done in time. I couldn't be any happier with her level of service and the feeling that she really cared. I would recommend her shop to anyone and plan to do business again with her if given the opportunity!! read more

So nice to find a shop that has numerous size 14's to try on. Most shops seem to stock size 10....I don't know many 60+ year old women who wear that size (any more!) and when you're paying $ 600.00+ it's nice to see what it really is going to look like before you order it!! Needing a few alterations they did recommend an A+ seamstress to me. Look her up...Rosetta O'Grady in Saugus. I wouldn't go to anyone else. With a tuck here and a tuck there Rosetta brought my gown alive. She not only is a seamstress, she's a designer. She has worked in the bridal industry her entire career. Note: Contact Rosetta and set up the fitting at her home... make sure she does the fitting as well. The wedding is in a couple of weeks..can't wait to show off the gown! This is the review I wish I had read when I was mother of the bride, and later of the groom. This is where I think you should go. Gianna knows dresses. I asked her why the dresses in her shop were so much more attractive than those I'd seen in stores. She replied that she picked them out herself. So what you have here, in my opinion, is the best of the best. For my daughter's wedding, I went to a big shop on the North Shore because I thought I was supposed to. They sold me a dress so huge that even an expert seamstress near home couldn't cut it down to fit. I went to Gianna's ONE WEEK before the wedding, found an attractive dress on the floor, and her seamstress made it fit perfectly in only a few days. For my son's wedding a few years later, I went first to an expensive department store because that's what I thought I should do THIS time! I found nothing. While I was trying to figure out what to do next, I dropped into Gianna's just to see. I'm going to say right up front: this is not a huge, spacious, carpeted, beautiful store with racks and racks of dresses and gorgeous dressing rooms. But what I learned is that that's not what you want. You want the knowledgeable people and the special dresses. I felt as though the friendly lady working that day took one look at me and had a good sense of what would look best on me. We chatted about a few things, then I tried on a few dresses, any one of which would have worked just fine. And then I tried on THE dress. I'm sure you know that feeling when you put something on and suddenly you are totally transformed, as if the dress were made just for you. And I will add that I got so many compliments at the wedding that I truly felt that I, a plump 66 year old grandmother, was 35 again! And Gianna happened to have a beautiful necklace for me to buy too. Oh and by the way, while I was waiting for fittings, I saw a few brides come in for their own fittings, and their wedding gowns were stunning -- that little bit different and so gorgeous on each bride. As for the complaints I've read here, I think what's being missed is that Gianna is a clothing professional, originally from Italy. She has brought an elite and knowledgeable European taste and quality here. She is not a low paid store clerk, or even just a business owner out to make a living. She is a Rembrandt, one who takes her work seriously and wants to help paint you the way you should be painted. I've heard her be straightforward; she speaks her mind and she gets to. But her outlook is positive; she knows how important your event is and she is willing and able to share her knowledge with you. And I found that the other ladies who worked there felt like sisters and mothers to me. Phew. Shame on me for waiting so long to write this review. I thought about it often, and then realized I thought about it the most while watching Vanna White's dresses on Wheel of Fortune each night, which makes perfect sense. read more

SHOP AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! One of the worst experiences I have had in a long time. First off, the bridesmaid's dress took 5 months to come in when I was told it would take no more than 12 weeks. I was told by the assistant that I needed to order a dress two sizes larger than my pant size and I had to order a longer length because of my height. The longer length was also an additional cost. The dress finally came in two weeks before the wedding and I ended up needing to have 9 inches removed from the length, 4.5 inches taken off of the straps, the back taken in, the chest taken in, and the waist taken in. By then the dress was the same size as my pant size and was the normal length (which was what I had wanted to order from the beginning but I was told that would not work). I had to spend a few hundred dollars in alterations which cost me more than the dress itself. When I called and asked for a refund or discount of some kind the owner was extremely rude, kept making excuses instead of apologizing for the poor service, was very condescending and even had the gall to tell me I don't know my own pant size, and kept interrupting me everytime I tried to speak. I will not be bringing my business back and strongly encourage others to reconsider bringing business here, as well. What a horrible experience. read more
