Stopped in for a cold treat on a hot Summer day and the wife needed her Banana Split fix and was so happy we did! I had the Blueberry Cheesecake ice cream and other than getting a couple of brain freezes, it was well worth the experience. This is an ice shop but it can easily double as an old-fashion candy bar and a Florida souvenir shop. Open the door and the smell of warming waffle cones was a pleasant welcome. They have multiple flavors to pick from; however, you can only sample 1 which was disappointing. I think maybe they can do a 1 sample free then 25 cents for another. I sampled the cotton candy m&ms ice cream which was a different blend. I settled on Blueberry cheesecake because it was safe. The service was normal in-and-out and attentive. After visiting the Springs this was a treat. read more

I visited here on a whim, because I was nearby shopping at another store. The vibes are very much giving "nostalgic ice cream shop", and I loved it! The place was actually packed on a Saturday night, and there was a short line forming but it was moving right along. Also random: I don't do dairy, and if I do it's in moderation. (Allergic, lactose-intolerant, whatever. It hurts my stomach and gives me hives) So I actually just popped in to check out the decor and take pictures, because again: The decor! I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had not one, but TWO dairy-free ice cream flavors on the day I visited. *so thankful* The woman behind the counter was so sweet. She said that the DF flavors change occasionally, but they're made locally. When she saw that I was having a hard time choosing between the two flavors, she offered me a sample! Then when I realized they were both amazing, she let me know I could do a scoop of each flavor. *cheat chode* I tried the chocolate peanut butter (DF) and the coconut almond fudge (DF). When I tell you that the latter tasted like an 'Almond Joy' candy bar, but in a good way, I was elated! I definitely finished both scoops before I started my car. Their menu had lots of fun stuff like scoops in cups, scoops in cones, milkshakes, a bunch of toppings, and even retro candy for sale in the store. Great tasting Ice cream served with a friendly face. I was driving back in town from Ft. White & noticed the ice cream shop. On a whim, I decided to stop in! It was like a kids candy shop meets ice cream shop. The kid in me jumped with glee. I was able to taste a few samples and decided on cookies n cream, cookie butter with a waffle cone double scoop. As I go to pay, I noticed they had my favorite ginger beer! Score! The ice cream was fresh and EXACTLY what I needed on a 101 degree day. I will be back with my friends and their kids. read more

Great to have an ice cream shop running in High Springs. We've always found product and service to be excellent. I'll mention one negative -- there's no way to leave a tip when paying with a card! Now that I know that I plan ahead, but I felt pretty bad about stiffing them the two times I went in without cash on me (and had to come back and make up for it the next time). read more

This place was a dud. We went with our babies for their first ice creams and it wasn't a great place. The ice cream is really subpar and icy (a big sign they don't use a lot/any milk fats). It's a whole sale ice cream company called "ice cream club". The sprinkles on mine were super stale and soft. The other thing that really got me was the lack of napkins/towels. It's an ice cream parlor. Ice cream is messy but not a napkin in sight even the bathrooms paper towel dispenser has a "just take one" sign. The woman behind the counter was pleasant while we ordered but sat behind the register on her phone the rest of the time. Nothing makes you feel less welcome than seeing the person behind the counter actively ignoring you. read more

Stopped in after visiting Oleno State park. There was one person working, she quickly took my order, she was rather fun to talk to and was working quickly as possible as other people came were lining up. She did a great job of not rushing me though. I had the blue spring ice cream, very tasty, however, I recommend grabbing some napkins as I had a blue ring around my mouth after eating it. My experience of this ice cream shop was great. I was traveling through the area and saw it as I was taking an evening stroll. Lilly was fun to talk with and even added some bananas I brought (I was being weird) into my smoothie (If her boss sees this, don't worry I signed a disclaimer mentally removing all liability! Haha) Truthfully, it was a good end to my High Springs area experience, which I enjoyed as an unexpected gem. I would recommend this ice cream place to anyone. The vibe was good, Lilly was cool and the flavors to choose from were with variety. There were even some non-dairy creams for those lactose or preferentially avoidant. Also, the store decor was neat, fully of little trinkets and fun knick knacks, enhancing the vibe of just being a kid again. 10/10 would return read more

This is a small operation run by one woman in a small town, not a chain, so you sometimes need to be patient. It is lovely and has all kinds of vintage candy, an old fashioned candy store and ice cream shop. The owner makes a great cookie shake to die for. Delicious. I'm glad to have an ice cream parlor in High Springs again. The new owner was scooping and mentioned that she plans to fill out the shop as she closes her larger store in Jax. The ice cream is very good, there are a lot of flavor choices and the prices are what I'd expect. I'll be stopping in again-partly because I'm an ice cream junkie and partly to see her progress as she gets more moved in. read more
