PADI is becoming too commercialized anyways. The shop is smaller than the larger ones, but the staff and service more than make up for that. Kayley is very friendly and easy to talk to. I have even just stopped by to chat. Their trips are fun and have a family type of atmosphere. I would definitely recommend going on one to meet everyone. I moved from San Diego so the diving in Jacksonville doesn't compare but Idive makes it more bearable. If anyone is looking for a dive shop give Idive a shot. You will not regret the family atmosphere here. It may not be a big box store like Divers Supply but it is a great place.

Everything is so well-maintained, and the atmosphere is relaxing and perfect for a full day of enjoying the water and beautiful surroundings. The food was okay--nothing that really stood out to me--but with so much included in the experience, that wasn't the main reason I came. The opportunity to swim, relax, explore, and enjoy such a gorgeous setting made the day really special. It is an expensive experience, but if you're looking for something unique, relaxing, and memorable, I definitely think Discovery Cove is worth doing at least once!

However, if you are seeking luxury accommodations, you may be disappointed. Our room did not feel fresh at all. It was noticeably musty and dusty, with an odor that honestly reminded me of a dirty sock. We reported the issue three separate times, but unfortunately, our concerns seemed to go unheard. After completing a survey on our final day, I received a call from someone at the front desk. The conversation felt very transactional, and he later called back to offer a $40-per-night refund, which I declined. Compensation was not the reason I expressed my concerns. I had hoped for acknowledgment and reassurance that the issues would be addressed for future guests. Without that, I'm not sure we would return. The quality of the air you breathe is important, and the air in our room did not feel clean or fresh. We could also visibly see what appeared to be mold around the AC units on the 9th floor, where our room was located. For the price, I honestly do not feel it was worth it. We paid over $800 for two nights, and given the condition of the room and the lack of attention to our concerns, the value simply was not there. This property has so much potential because the location, grounds, and views are truly amazing. With better maintenance, cleanliness, and attention to guest concerns, it could be a wonderful destination.

I had some concerns because although my daughter is a strong swimmer she can be flighty. Mark her instructor was very personable. He has a calm demeanor about him and jolly at the same time. It is clear he loves to dive and teach. My daughter said he has a special way to explain things that make it extra fun. I think Mark was very patient and he let her wander around and take some time to look at everything in amazement, rather than constantly tapping her on the shoulder to get her back on task. Fintastic Diving Adventures is an amazing Scuba Diving company that specializes in classes, certifications and trips for the whole family. I highly recommend them. Though based in Jacksonville, FL, they regularly hold classes in Atlanta. I've been scuba certified for over 30 years but I took a refresher course with Fintastic after being away from the sport for a while. The owner, Saffron, also taught my children to dive and we have traveled with her on more than 10 trips. Each one was organized, professionally done and tons of FUN. You can rent her gear for classes and trips or she can hook you up with your own gear at reasonable prices. Well known and respected in the diving industry, Saffron is a wonderful teacher with over 6,000 dives. Sitting on multiple Scuba Safety Councils, she is the person that professional divers recommend when asked for the name of a scuba instructor. Saffron's background in marine biology is a great help in identifying wildlife above and below the water. To top it all off.. Saffron is a nice person and I think nice matters.
