I was here last when it was the Cracked Egg. The decor is definitely better. More beachy and the booths are much nicer than the tables they used to have. Place was nearly full. You can sit anywhere you like. We were waited on immediately. Our food came out fast. It was nothing fancy. The type of food an average cook would make at home. The French toast was good, a bit of cinnamon. Eggs were cooked perfectly, exactly the way we asked. The omelettes were okay. The only issues: the hash and the sausage patties tasted cheap. They weren't very good. The grits were watery. The Pepsi was flat and watered down. With Big Pine closed, this is a decent alternative if you want breakfast out. read more

super cheap and pretty good but heavy stuff, classic breakfast diner fare, but no real maple syrup, and just not my thing in hot weather. My cousin asked for lunch and was told they didn't have it and just make it whenever the cook feels like it, and she didn't feel like it yet. My uncle asked for the ice cream on the menu, and they apparently just write things on there for the heck of it because the waitress was pretty sure first, then certain there was none, when he asked her to check. But call the waitress honey and she'll fall in love with you (at least if you're a crazy looking slovenian-cleveland-florida man like my uncle) and she'll then even bring you some. Walked in and were instantly greeted with smiles and hellos. Staff was super friendly. I had Eggs Benedict and it was so good! Perfectly poached eggs, tasty ham, and tons of Hollandaise sauce! Huge portions. Prices are super cheap for the huge amount of food served! Nothing fancy, atmosphere is your typical divey diner. It's definitely worth a stop! read more

We love love breakfast & this little deli in Daytona was perfect! My husband had an omelette "the kitchen sink" everything in it was delicious. I had the eggs Benedict with the sauce on the aside because I don't like it period...but I gave this one a try and it was amazing! We will definitely be back! The Florida Keys Cafe always has wonderful breakfast specials. if you don't like the specials you can order off the menu. Great omelettes, awesome sausage gravy. Even when they are slammed the service is terrific. They manage the traffic well. We usually go here when we are staying on Big pine Key. Great place that I would recommend. read more

I've only been here once, but great food. I got the breakfast special with eggs, potatoes, bacon, and a 1/4 biscuit and gravy (can't remember the exact name). Not healthy by any means but when in the South....eat grits or gravy, right?! My fiancé and I both had breakfast platters that were awesome. And portions are huge. Although I'm not always a fan of huge portions, I was in the mood that day for some reason. The only reason I can't give five stars is because the service was extremely slow. They only had two waitresses and the place was packed. We said we were done and it took at least 10 minutes to get the check. Our waitress was just kinda chatting people up too. So all I'm saying is don't go there right before you are trying to catch a flight! read more

We came for breakfast. We were seated immediately. I think they were short staffed. Our server did the best she could. It took an hour before we received our food from the time we sat down. The omelette was filled with crab and cheese - not cooked enough as the cheese had not even melted. The bacon was overdone. The biscuits were big and over baked. They do serve hash browns and home fries. The hash browns were OK. The home fries were bland. If you wanted onions in them, it was 85 cents extra. Would not recommend a visit here. read more

Let me start by saying, some of the previous reviews appear to be submitted by people whom have a close connection to the restaurant. They "Do Not" offer Military or Local discounts (the people who keep them open in the off season) When my wife and I walked inside, the confusion started with two servers. They had no clue on which server was going to take us, very awkward position for my wife and I. My wife ordered the Filet Mignon Omlette and I ordered Scrambled Eggs and Pancakes. The appearance of the food was good but that's as far as it went. The Omlette was bland (no seasoning at all) the so called Filet Mignon filling couldn't have been anything more than a low cut of beef or deli meat. The Pancakes had a toughness to them as if they had been pre-made and waiting for me. The scrambled eggs had absolutely no flavor to them. The service wasn't bad but the servers had no problem yelling across the restaurant to each other. It kinda shocked you while you ate (like a car back firing). Let me finish this up by saying, "I was ready to leave , after first bite". read more

A decent choice for a reasonable priced breakfast with large portions. Beware of ordering two or three cakes as you're most likely not even able to finish one as they are so large and surprisingly cooked prefectly. Place could use a good cleaning but as long as I'm ordering hot food I'm not too concerned. Just as expected, excellent. Eggs were cooked to perfection, toast was perfect. If I had to find a flaw, I would say the only minor complaint would be, the bacon wasn't as crispy as I normally like it. This little home cooked place is delicious!! What a surprise it was to find this on our way up the keys. The service was just ok, and the environment needed some work, but the food was exceptional! We all had different breakfast items (omelette, hashbrowns, bacon, grits, grilled muffin, biscuits, coffee, the works!) It was all great. Can't say anything about food because we haven't tried it but service was awful. Me, my husband and our baby came in to get some food but apparently we were invisible for a stuff there because they were totally unfriendly and didn't even said anything to us. We have waited to be sat down or at least for somebody to say something to us like a "hi" or "please wait for a couple minutes to be served" or something like that but nobody didn't even look at us. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. The service is awful. We visited this restaurant on our way back to Miami from Key West on a Thursday morning. We walked into the restaurant and were greeted by a surly waitress who told us we could sit anywhere. We seated ourselves and then were summarily ignored. We weren't even given menus. I had plenty of time to look around the restaurant, and I noticed that nearly all the tables were empty and dirty. Then, I noticed a note behind the cash register that reminded the wait staff, in gruff language, that they needed to clean up after themselves and bus their tables. It also told them that, "If [they] want to work here, [they] have to be nice to the customers." Uh oh. Our waitress was definitely not nice to us. After over 20 minutes of being completely ignored, we left and went to the Stuffed Pig, which was amazing! It's too bad. We were hungry and the reviews of the food looked good. I wish I had been given the opportunity to try it for myself. read more

This place is pretty rough. Pulled up and saw a group of sketchy individuals sitting outside smoking. Went in for breakfast and realized pretty quickly that most the people who work there are drug addicts. Food/coffee were subpar, even had to send back French toast for not being cooked enough. A gem on the Overseas Highway! Great pit stop down to Key West. It's quaint, clean and quick service. I had what was probably the best omelette with vegetables I've ever had. The veggies were cooked down and had an incredible flavor! I will definitely be back again...most likely tomorrow! :) read more

Great Little place with friendly service, good, wholesome food and reasonable prices. Due to a shortage of lunch options in this part of the keys we ended up here.
