I had Red Rhino come out to check for a pool leak and they charged $350, about average. During the gentleman Forrest's leak detection, he gave me a price to fix it, then 10 minutes later added a $1000 to that price, then 15 minutes later (while he is still checking for leak this whole time) gave me another price which was $1000 more. Then, when he finished, he gave me one last price of $4500 to fix it. Usually, one does his work and gives the estimate. Very unprofessional. Then I called Florida Leak Locators. They checked again for $300, found the problem in about an hr., VERY KNOWLEDGABLE AND PROFESSIONAL & I could tell Pat the technician knew what he was doing and he gave me 2 options, I settled on the full fix for $1300!! After many months of adding water to our leaking pool, I finally bit the bullet. Quite frankly it would have been less expensive if I just fixed the leak when I noticed it. We had work done on our pool deck recently and after completed we noticed we were losing water from our pool at a pretty high rate. We tried a number of things to identify the issue on our own and had no luck. Sean came out and after I told him what we had tried he thought he had an idea. We drained the spa and he pointed out where a plug was missing and that was more than likely causing the leak and not a broken pipe that we feared was the issue. We just assumed the missing plug was dirt from the deck renovation that had settled into the drain. I had a matching plug from our attempt to isolate the issue and he installed it, so far so good. Going to give it a week and cross out fingers he was right. Sean was extremely nice and said he wouldn't charge us the initial quoted price when it was something so simple, and I'm guessing he was glad he didn't have to get into the water. I paid him for his time which was a huge savings for us. Hopefully we will never need their service again, but if we do I wouldn't hesitate to call them. read more

Our skimmer box was installed in the 60's and has been leaking for years. We finally had Florida Leak Locators replace it. It was a huge job, but they sent an absolutely fabulous technician, Will, out to fix it. Will dug out all the old concrete, replaced the box and all the cracked joints, refilled the concrete and replaced the pavers for us. It is such a relief to know we won't be paying for patch jobs that won't hold or refilling the pool constantly. Will was super professional, hard working, honest and polite. We felt the quote was more than fair for the amount of work involved and are totally happy with the quality service received. Great job! Had a leak in our pool raising our water bill to double what it should have been as we tried to keep the water level to where it needed to be. I wish I had called Florida Leak Locators sooner, but I wanted to be sure it wasn't simply extra evaporation due to our drier winters. The tech was great and fixed the leak on the first trip out. It turned out to be in our main drain, so he had to get in the pool to fix it. He thanked me profusely for having heated the pool. They do not honor their "guaranty". Hired them to locate and fix a pool leak. They were unsuccessful. I requested a return visit. After waiting several weeks, they sent the same tech who could not fix the leak. I requested that they send another tech. They ignored my request and then claimed that I was outside their 35 day guaranty. I requested a refund, and they refused. I hired Red Rhino. Red Rhino found multiple leaks and fixed the problem. FL Leak Locators (Palm Beach \ Broward) failed to identify the leak, failed to fix the leak, failed to honor their "guaranty" and failed overall. Note that they do not have Google reviews. When our pool seemed to be losing more water than could be attributed to evaporation, our pool maintenance guy advised us to call Florida Leak Locators. They came quickly, spent at least a couple of hours evaluating our pool from top to bottom, and determined that there was some separation in the skimmer area. They repaired the skimmer, and everything seem to be fine after that. However, after about a month and a half the water levels seem to be receding a little fast, so we called them back to do an evaluation. To this point, we had had a good experience. The man they sent out for the follow up, however, seemed to walk in with a chip on his shoulder. As I explained what I thought was happening, Sean kept interrupting me. I got the feeling that he had determined ahead of time that I was a dumb female who didn't know what she was talking about. Had a significant leak about 3/4" to 1" a day. Was honestly terrified to call someone thinking the issue could be very costly to fix. Florida Leak Locators were extremely nice and easy to schedule. Shaun called is first thing in the morning to let us know he would be there in an hour. Took a thorough look at the pool and kept us up to date with his findings as he went. Including the fact that it was not our skimmer or any of our pipes (whew). Once he went into the pool he located our leak in our pool light. It was a lug nut that had been sucked through, leaving a quarter size hole. He was able to fix it with epoxy and it was covered in our $295 fee! I highly recommend Florida Leak Locators. I recently purchased a home with a pool having moved into the area from several states away. The pool was not well maintained by the previous owners and it was leaking. Since I'm new to the area I went online in hopes of finding a good, professional company to address my leaky pool. I found Florida Leak Locators and read through the many positive reviews posted by previous customers. I called to schedule an appointment with them the day before Christmas. Although they were closed, someone was in the office and called me right back to schedule an appointment. They were able to come out within 48 hours after Christmas. The two technicians that came out were amazing. They were both extremely knowledgeable and professional and made me feel confident that the leaks would be identified which they were. One of the technicians called and set up an appointment for me for the leaks to be permanently fixed. They will be coming out to permanently fix the leaks within a few days. The technicians were also kind enough to answer several questions I had about the pool equipment. I also thought that for the work their pricing was reasonable and fair. I hope I'm done with leaky pools but if I have a problem I would not hesitate using Florida Leak Locators again. read more

had technician TR come out in July, 2018 to find a leak in my inground fiberglass pool. He spent about 15 minutes there. He put some dye near all of the return fittings and told me that both of my 1023 fittings are bad and he recommended replacing them. He quote me $1800 for them too do the work. The charge for this inspection was $295. He never left the inside of the lanai area, never checked the pump area, never checked around the pool or in the yard where I told him the yard was flooding from the pool leak. He never went inside the pool and checked for leaks as i was told he would do by the girl that answers the phone in the office. I was also told that he would use some sonic testing equipment to test "ALL" of the plumbing underground and around the pool area for leaks which he did not do any of it. I asked about some approx. of costs of repair. First she told me that many times it is the main drain in fiberglass pools and that they will just plug the main drain plumbing since I don't need a main drain. And that repair will be included in the $295. She also mentioned that if a return needs to be replaced it will run approx. $800. So my main problem is that they lied to me and tried to charge me for repairing a fitting that I also did not need. I called a few other places to get another opinion and was told that the leak was in the fitting that was used to vacuum the pool. He then told me that if I really wanted it repaired he can do it for $600 but he did not see why I would want to fix it since I do not really need it. He said I can vacuum the pool using the suction line from the skimmer. He then said that many pools don't even have a separate fitting for just a vacuum. He fixed it in about 2 minutes with a $6.00 plug that he inserted in the vacuum line. Since he fixed it I have never had to add water to it and it's been almost 60 days. I would never recommend this company to anyone........ BEWARE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more
