The staff is the worst they don't know anything. I had an issue with fina aid for 7 months and the issue took so line my semester was over. Please do your research before going because they are complete liars!! even though the schools credited a lot of the programs are not like the Sonography program and the craziest part is they don't tell you, they sell you a dream and once you're going to school and are in a bunch of debt then you realize the program is not accredited! If you are paying a lot of money for an education, at least be 100 percent sure that you will get a job in the discipline that you selected. I graduated from FNU years ago, but I am happy to say that this was the first stepping stone towards my career path. FNU provided me with many opportunities, and I can honestly say that without it, I am not sure where I would be. The teachers are extremely helpful, always willing to lend a helping hand. I made lifelong friends there, who also shared a wonderful experience with me. The small classroom sizes created a more "family-like" environment. You really got to know your classmates and professors, unlike other universities where you are unable to connect with others and to staff you are just another ID Number roaming around campus. Their flexible class schedules allowed for me to study full time and work full time as well. The online courses were very user friendly, unlike other programs I have encountered. The administration at the time, was always engaged, willing to hear students out and work on concerns any of them ever had. Over the years, I have seen that (formerly known as) FNC has grown into FNU and I admire the growth and progress they have made throughout this time. They have integrated more classes, added more career paths, and have many more opportunities for students in this day and age to take full advantage of. Overall, I can say my experience at FNU was a great one and I am forever grateful for the skills they have taught me in order to succeed within my career. Thank you FNU! read more

I started my nursing career in Florida National University in January 2020 in the Hialeah campus to become a nurse. After seeing so many ads on TV, buses and billboards, it seemed FNU would be a great choice to embark on this challenging career. However, little did I know what awaited for me in the coming semesters. As a foreign doctor in my home country Cuba and holding a previous a bachelors degree here in the US, I falsely believed that I had a realistic chance of becoming a nurse. Instead, I found myself in a school that was so money hungry it created new obstacles to overcome semester after semester. For example, the first policy they implemented after starting the program required that all students obtain an 80% in all exams combined before any other points can be added (like hw, projects) to pass the class. In essence, there was no room to even fail or get a low score in one exam because if you did you would fail the class. On the next semester, the schools implemented a one minute per question policy for all exams including dosage calculations and midterms/finals. Seeing that not enough people had failed, the school proceeded to add even more changes. On the last semester, they added two predictor exams that were pass or fail before you could sit for the exit exam. In terms of the exit exam, if you failed after one attempt, you would have to wait 4 months to retake it again. Just to be clear all these changes were made across both the Hialeah and south campus. As an adult student, I also found their program to be inflexible with the schedule for people who need to work to support their families. For instance, you would never get your class schedule on time, making it impossible to coordinate with your other responsibilities. Additionally, the nursing program itself was a very tense and toxic environment. Students from other classes were discouraged from talking to each other or communicating in the halls for unknown reasons. It felt like I was in back in Cuba. In fact, one time two professors were caught talking about the physical appearance of multiple students while online, thinking their mics were off. To be honest, what drove me to leave the school at the start of my last semester was an orientation where we were introduced to the new directors of the nursing program Penelope Pattalitan and Yunieski Farradas. Mrs. Pattalitan especially was very dismissive and disrespectful to the whole class when we decided to voice our concerns and questions about all the new changes that were happening. In the end, myself and 30+ students across Hialeah and south campus decided to leave because it seemed that were being set up for failure no matter how hard you study. We also had multiple teachers advising us to leave before we failed and lose our money with them which was their ultimate goal. SO IF YOU'RE THINKING ABOUT GOING TO Florida National University BECAUSE YOUR FRIENDS HAVE GONE IN THE PAST AND GRADUATED, ITS NO THE SAME AND MOST LIKELY YOU WILL FAIL, KNOW THAT THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE WALKING INTO. I am a student who has just finished the nursing program at this school and my recommendation to anyone planning to start a career is to look for other options. Not only education is lousy but attention, abuse and the imperative treatment of students is indescribable. In addition they say that it is a cheap school but in reality they charge a great amount of fees and they are not even explain you at the time of collection. The truth is that you are going to leave with a greater debt than what they tell you at the beginning of the program. Last but not least, they will make the classes almost impossible to pass and they test you with exams that are not related to what you have learned in class for that reason more than 50% of the students who enter the program have to leave with a fairly large debt and no title. Do not and I mean do not attend this school. When I first applied to this school they treated me good only to get me to go there. My second semester I wanted to drop one of my class then change one of my classes from on campus to online. They have you going from one room to another speaking to a bunch of different people. They gave me a huge run around about it. First they told me If I wanted to drop a class I must pay $400 . So I said okay well what if I decide to just change one of my class to online they said they would charge me $50 to change my on campus class to online. I wanted to take a math class online and tried to drop my general biology class to have one class . The advisor said there was one space left for math online but then they would change me $50 to change it and the registrar told me there wasn't any more room. So I left and mind you I live 45 minutes from the school so I asked them would I be able to have the class if I go home and get the money and come back. They told me that it was first comes first serves . So I went home then came back to the school then they told me the someone took the last spot and they offered me another class and they told me that three schools correspond with that one class which I don't understand why they wouldn't have more classes online if there's 3 campuses. Then I spoke to the director and he was like there's no fee for changing the class only to drop the class . So I drove 45 minutes to my house and 45 minutes back to the campus for no reason, didn't get the class all this could've been avoided if they just gave me the class but instead the LIED to me. I wouldn't have had to waste time and gas going back and fourth if they have just put me in the class . THIS SCHOOL ONLY WANTS YOUR MONEY.!!!!! I graduated from their BSN program. While I was able to survive, the journey was horrible. No one in this school cares about the students, they are all rude. if you have any concern, you are dismissed. the clinical arrangements is a joke. the way they structure the program is a joke. every semester it gets worse. some new story comes along to make it more difficult on the students. they dont like it when students are succeeding & find ways to make it ridiculously hard so they do not pass. The contract that you sign at the very beginning is changed every single semester, they do not respect it. If you do not like a new UNFAIR change, even collectively as a class, they tell you "it is what it is and if you do not like it the door is right there". All they do is threatened their students and put their mental health on the floor.
