My teenage son and I had such a great first time paddle boarding! Trust me he doesn't find many things enjoyable anymore so I highly recommend if you are looking for something to do with your teens or with the whole family. We have to give a huge thank you to our wonderful tour guide Sabrina. She went above & beyond our expectations! (Took some great pictures as well!) She was very helpful, made our experience easy, smooth and most importantly enjoyable. We only wished we would've done a longer tour to get to head out even further in the water, but we will definitely be doing that next time when we come back since we don't own any paddle boards this tour is definitely something worth doing, especially if it's your first time like it was for us. The area has portable pottys as well as two regular restrooms to change before and after your tour. They also have a shop where they sell souvenirs and a few other items. Ps. You don't have to rent a locker, you will get a chance to put all your stuff away before your tour starts. If you are visiting they have camp sites that are ideal if you're looking to make a whole weekend out of it. I highly recommend it, I definitely can't wait to come back even though I'm two hours away it was definitely worth it!

My husband already has a kayak, so I just rented a single kayak for a half day, 3 hrs (they also have two person kayaks and a full day option). When I called Joe from Peace of Mind informed me that he was already at Dinky Dock (my preferred put-in location) and he was able to accommodate a rental with very short notice I (I think I gave him 45 minutes). I also appreciated that we could pay with a credit card at the rental location. Even though it wasn't part of a formal tour, I felt so well taken care of. Immediately upon arrive Joe greeted me by name and the equipment (kayak, life vest, paddle) was ready to go. I was provided with a laminated map of the lakes and the canals, a ziplock bag for my phone, and some tips about navigating the area. Joe even helped carry my husband's kayak so we could launch at the same time, even though he was not renting from them. When we returned to the beach after a wonderful couple hours on the lakes, Joe met us on the beach immediately. Overall excellent service- the rental process couldn't have been smoother. The equipment was no-frills but well maintained. Dinky dock is a perfect starting spot for a self-guided tour of the MUST SEE Winter Park Chain of Lakes.

This is my second time doing this. The first time was a few years ago in December and it was cold so naturally not a lot of gators were out. This time around, it was a hot sunny day - perfect conditions to see some gators! It was a nice ride, so many birds and wildlife out! We didn't see a ton of gators for the amount of population in the lake, but I did see more than last time (4!) so I say it is a win! We even heard the hiss of a mama gator protecting her babies. This is a lot of fun to do, especially out of towners that want to experience some "Florida Shit." Perhaps the next time, more gators will be out!

I'd…read moredefinitely recommend booking your tickets online ahead of time, it makes things much easier, especially if you're going with a group. They also have a restaurant and bar on site, which is perfect for grabbing a drink before or lunch after your airboat ride. Quick heads up: if you grab a seat in the front row on a windy, choppy day, you're basically in the splash zone. A light waterproof jacket isn't a bad idea. We had two guides on our boat, one of whom was still in training. Both were great... friendly, knowledgeable, and certified captains so you feel completely safe out there. They told us Lake Jesup has one of the highest concentrations of alligators anywhere. The lake covers about 25 square miles and is home to roughly 13,500 gators. On a sunny day, you'll see plenty of them stretched out along the shoreline. It's pretty incredible. I didn't time the ride exactly, but it felt like around 45 minutes, a solid tour with lots to see. We took the noon ride and then headed into the restaurant for lunch. They do offer gator on the menu, but I played it safe and went with a Cuban sandwich and fries, along with a couple cold beers. Everything was really good. Our group of six had a fantastic afternoon. Great weather, great guides, and a fun way to experience Florida up close.
