Florida Pump Service came out today to fix our pump. They came on time and did excellent work. Tanya was helpful from the very first phone call, and Brian was able to get everything fixed quickly and efficiently. He took time to explain what was broken and what to expect from the age of our system. There was no uncomfortable Up-sell or pressure. On 03/01/2024 I was walking with my dog when I hear my well pump running when it shouldn't have been. I opened the pump house to see water spraying out of the piping. I shut off the pump and called Florida Pump Service. As it was late on a Friday afternoon, I was told I would have to pay the overtime rate for a service call. Understood, I need water. So be it. The technician, Brian, arrives, tells me that the pump has overheated, causing the PVC pipe to melt. He re-pipes the damaged plumbing, starts the pump, and tells me everything is working correctly. He suspected the overheating was caused by the pressure being set too high, which seemed implausible to me, but....I had water, so, OK. Cost: $344.00. Less than three weeks later, I was going to take a shower, when I found that I had no water at all. I went out to the pump house and found the pump running, but no water pressure. As it was after hours, I waited until the following morning (03/21/2024) to call Florida Pump Service. Brian again arrived and stated that the check valve, which he had installed on his previous visit, had failed, causing my loss of water. He also replaced the pressure switch on the pump. Cost: $319.28. I'm less happy now, but I have water. The next day, 03/22/2024, the pump caused the breaker to trip. I re-set the breaker, and it promptly tripped again. 3rd call to Florida Pump Service. BRIAN SHOWED UP AGAIN. He spent an hour trying to figure out why the pump was causing the breaker to trip. He eventually concluded that it had to be an electrical issue and suggested I call an electrician. By now, it's late Friday and I can't get an electrician out until Saturday. Brian did have the grace not to charge me for this visit. On Saturday, the electrician arrives, tests the system, and the breaker and supply wiring are all fine. Since he's on weekend OT, the cost for his visit is $269.00. I call Florida Pump Service again and ask for ANYONE BUT BRIAN to come out and address the pump again. Tonya, the dispatcher, told me that Brian was the only technician available for the weekend. So.....I called another pump service. The new company couldn't see me until Monday, so I spent the weekend flushing my toilets with bottled water and bathing in the sink. On Monday, 03/25/2024, the new service replaced the pump, pressure tank, and foot valve and my issue is now resolved. That cost almost $2k, but was understandable given the age of the pump. I am convinced that the signs that the pump was failing were present when Brian made his first visit (remember the melted PVC?), but he either did not recognize, or chose to ignore them. It was late afternoon on a Friday after all. Instead of replacing my pump then and there, Brian caused me an unnecessary second service call and a visit from an electrician. I blame Florida Pump Service for causing me at least $600.00 in unnecessary expense. Would not recommend. read more

My irrigation shallow well stopped producing. I determined that the pump seemed to be working and that there was at least some water in the well. So I hired Florida Pump Service to diagnose the problem. They came out and charged me $140 to tell me that the well point had gone bad and that I needed a new well drilled. A week later they sent me an estimate of almost $2400 which seemed high for a shallow well. I called in a different pump and well company and they quickly determined that a check valve had broken, they did some simple re-piping, and had my system back in operation within a few minutes. In addition to paying $140 for Florida Pump's incorrect diagnosis, based on that error I could have spent another $2400 to tap a new well when the old well still works fine. read more

When our well pump motor failed this morning, I was able to call Florida pump service where they cross referenced and came up with a replacement pump. The price was reasonable and the service impeccable. We were given complete instructions on how to install the motor. They even had the motor ready for us when we arrived so there was no waiting. OMG don't use this company !!!! I had them come out 3 times . 2 of the times for the same problem. They charged me all 3 times at around $250 every time .. I told the women on the phone that " maybe it's the same problem and you can look at it " she was laughing at me on the phone and telling. Me NOOOOOO it's a different problem ... how dos she know this ? She's just a dispatcher on the office .... the technician was nice But after looking what they replaced they're charging $250 to replace a couple of plastic pieces that cost five dollars at Home Depot I'm telling you guys don't ever ever use them . PLEASE READ !!! BEFORE CONTACTING THIS COMPANY !!! 02/27/17 Hello , I'm New to the city of Jacksonville,FL , all the way from California! I have bought my home with water issues here in JAX . Since I'm new around and don't know much I have contact this company which their slogan seem pretty attractive " We make Water Happen " to help me out with my problem ! They had three trucks coming in to fix my water problem expecting me to know what was the issue ! ( thats the reason I had called them in the first place , to come and suggest me what are my best options or what do I need to do ) instead they came in and started working on a old well that was already there ! Seem really unprofessional 3 young men with let me say no experiences at all , smoking cigarettes the whole 3 hours they where here, absolutely didn't solution me nothing !!! The problem doesn't even start here That day 02/27/17 the tree red trucks left ! Saying they'll come back and finish ! Leaving me with no water at all ! The next day I called and called the company to see what had happened ! I was communicating with a lady their secretary or what so ! Which was really unhelpful and told me that one of their guys was coming back to pick up the money of the labor of that day ! LABOR !? They didn't do nothing ! And she told me they had to do a new estimate on what to do next !? I gave her my email waiting on her response! Never go nothing ! 02/28/17 at my door I had the guy coming in to pick up the money ! For a job that's was never even started or done !!! Today 03/01/17 I called to see what happen with my new estimate after paying the guy for their labor and all ! This company treats me like an idiot and tells me my new estimate is around $6,000 dollars ! Yes 6k !???! Are you serious!!! (Please) I never do this yelp reviews (since I had my own business in back and California) But this is not just bad Costumer services or a bad review of unprofessional workers ! I had a biofilm growing in my aerator. Florida Pump cleaned and sanitized the aerator and did a great job. They are trained and professional. They charge less then other services I called. I recommend them. read more

Florida Pump is very poor at communicating and keeping commitments. Still waiting to hear from them (2 weeks) for a quote to drill new well. Have spend $500+ trying to repair existing well I'm sorry I called them. I hope you will not make the same mistake. read more

These guys were called to replace an old well water pump. MIKE came out and sold me a new pump. The installation was an absolute mess. Looked like a spider web between my new pump and my water pressure tank. When I had further problems I called another professional in my area. He took one look and almost immediately saw problems. The installer (Mike) from Florida Pump Service had cut out the check valve for the pump, had removed the air sniffer, and left several leaks. After all these deficiencies were corrected by DRAINS PLUS/MATT, I now have an efficient, perfectly working water system to my home. DON'T GIVE FLORIDA PUMP SERVICE THE TIME OF DAY (OR A CALL FOR HELP). read more

Had a great experience with this company from my original call till the time it was finished.. Didn't have to wait on a call back and Tech named David was here in a few hours to find the problems and set up a schedule for it to be fixed within a couple days.. sure thing another tech Charles Stine showed up on time and not only fixed my problems, but also gave me advice that I had no idea of how to continue getting water should we lose power again..Would definitely recommend this company.. read more
