I came in for a standard eye exam to get a prescription for glasses and also for contacts. I met with Dr. Lima, who was friendly, a good listener, and very thorough. He took his time, and he even double-checked some of the results that the eye tech had come up with so he could make extra sure I was getting what I needed. He was patient in reviewing all the options, and he was direct in walking through the pros and cons of different decisions. I see that some of the other reviewers had really long wait times. The overall time I spent at the office was in fact long, but only part of that was extra waiting. It mostly was because the exam was comprehensive. One negative was that it was harder than it should have been to make my initial appointment, but once I got past that, the experience was great. read more

I had my first appointment this week scheduled for 10:15. I was called from the waiting room at 11:20. It was after 12:00 when I finally got to see the doctor. When Dr. Bobo came in to see me, I voiced my frustration for the long wait, to which she responded with the excuse that it usually asked that long because of pre-exam testing. She also said that I should have been warned when I made the appointment that it would take 2 hours! During her exam I asked her to show me (with a chart or model of the eye) because I really wasn't following what she was telling me. She said, "I don't have that, but you can see your eye on the computer". That didn't help me at all! She never mentioned cataract evaluation (I'm 72). She was with me for exactly 5 minutes!!! The one star review is for the friendly staff. The next day I made an appointment with Dr. Brian Haft in West Palm ... night and day!!! I was in and out of his office in 45 minutes, got a complete work-up, complete explanation (with model eye), cataract evaluation, and a general sense of being well cared for! I have never been to a doctor's office with worse service. Rude people answering the phone, no response to messages on their website, I told the doctor the ointment was making my eyes worse but she didn't change the medication. NUMEROUS phone calls asking a different prescription be called in but it never happened with no contact from them. I can go on and on but you get the picture. This place is the absolute worst!! My husband had his first appointment on 2/14 at 9:20 in Stuart we got there and they said they had to cancel the dr had an emergency and they rescheduled for tomorrow3/18 . In the mean time we get a message about the appointment saying if we cancel without a 24 hour notice we will be charged a 35.00 cancellation fee. So now my husband took off for tomorrow's appointment and gets a call after 5pm that they are canceling the appointment so that's less than a 24 hour notice!!! I've been going to Florida Vision Institute for over 10 years, and have been very pleased with all of the staff, from the girls at the front desk right up through the Doctors. Everyone is consistently pleasant, helpful, and eager to answer my questions. As I've been getting older my eyes are changing and I've had some issues but I've always felt like I was in capable hands with everyone at FVI. I didn't realize how lucky I was until I went through a terrible experience with a family member having eye surgery elsewhere. The care, the attention and the work done was not at all up to par with what I have come to expect from everyone at Florida Vision Institute. I recently had Lasik with Dr. Allen and am extremely impressed. Prior to surgery, I had multiple visits to ensure they had all the proper measurements and pictures of my eyes, which made me feel even more comfortable with getting this procedure done. Amy Pauline, the Lasik Coordinator made the process so easy and was able to get me in for surgery ASAP. Dr. Lima performed the consultation and was extremely knowlegable and ensured my questions were answered. On surgery day, the staff was welcoming and made sure I knew what was going on at all times. Dr. Allen was patient, meticulous and very pleasant. I am so glad I finally got this procedure done. At my follow-up appointment today, Dr. Allen confirmed that I now have 20-15 vision, something I've never had before. I trusted them to do my LASIK operation. They have nice staff and are mostly professionals. However, I did have to wait a long time for my appointments and the doctors are all over Palm Beach and St Lucie so it's a hassle sometimes to do a follow up. I did not achieve the outcome I wished for in LASIK and they instructed me that it just needs time. Their facilities, staff, marketing and business are all great - but the actual result of my procedure (the LASIK outcome) was a failure. Maybe I was unlucky, who knows. read more

Very disrespectful of your time. It took 3 weeks for an appointment and then they made me wait over an hour to see the doctor. When I told them I have other appointments that afternoon, I was told it would be another 3 weeks for another appointment. They must think that everyone can spend the day in their waiting room. My advice is to find an ophthalmologist that respects your time. read more

This place used to be great. I should've realized 2 visits ago that this place is going downhill, it all stems with the incomptent women that works in the billing department. When I went in 2016 they had over charged my account $25 and when I called to get this money released they would not do so, they said I could use it at my next visit. I was due for an eye exam last month so I went back to this place knowing I had a credit balance. Well now they are trying to collect way more money than what is due and lying about insurance claims (I just found out they have filed my insurance claims incorrectly in the past) and further lying about where the money I did pay went. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else, dealing with Jackie in billing has been a nightmare. If this review was based solely on the doctor it would be 5 stars but this women just makes it 0. Unless you have money to waste don't bother with this place. read more
