It was a little smaller than I'm used to, but honestly, it seems pretty on par with what you'd expect these days. Inside, the restaurant is clean, bright, and surprisingly spacious. There's plenty of seating, making it a great spot for families or larger groups who want to dine in without feeling cramped. It's tucked away off a back road in the Icebox Plaza, so you might miss it if you're not looking for it. But don't let the location fool you--it's worth finding. And here's the plot twist... Oak City takes nothing for granted regarding the pizza, cold beer (at a great price) or their service. The staff were very friendly and the owner was really engaging. Since it was our first time there, she came out to our table to ask us how everything was and talked about how they got their start and a bit about their passion for making really great pizza. We have had excellent Neapolitan style pizza at some of the best places in the state and the metro, namely -- Andolini's in Tulsa on Cherry Street and the Wedge in midtown OKC, and neither of them have anything on Oak city. To start, the crust is tender and bubbly around the edges and has a great flavor. It looks exactly like the pictures on their web site and It's made from a 5 year old sour dough starter and is absolutely a perfect artisan style crust. The sauce has a mild, but distinctive tomato flavor that won't overpower the crust or the toppings. There is also no need to order extra cheese because the normal amount is plenty. We will definitely be back soon, and next time, we'll try the Detroit style pizza too -- along with the original. Do yourself a favor and try this place out soon.
