Wow! It's hard to believe that I have not visited here since 2015! Not for lack of not wanting to but rather my job took me away from this area. I never really dined in but always had orders called in for pickup. For whatever reason my wife wanted pizza but not our normal stops. Papa Angelo's was her choice. I had forgotten they have two sets of hours first from 1100 - 2:00 then again from 5:00 - 9:00. We arrived before 5 so we waited until they opened. My wife really didn't care what type of pizza so I ordered a 20" pizza 1/2 pepperoni 1/2 Italian sausage. Also ordered 2 side salads. The salads were well prepared! My only thing to put this over the top would be to serve in cold bowls. I opted for the house dressing which was delicious. The pizza was good like I remembered. I would prefer a little more sauce on my pizza but I think by default they have a set amount they put on. I would definitely get more sauce on my pizza on my next visit. It's not my favorite crust but it works! There is plenty of seating with a large area for groups. Adina who is part of the family came to visit with us at our table and we gained a lot of information about the restaurant and her family. What a wonderful woman to meet! I've been going here for 10+ years. I've never once had a bad or messed up order. This place got me through high-school and college. During finals, ordering over the phone was a saving Grace. I've genuine to God himself have never been able to eat at another pizza restaurant after my first time eating there. Apart from one single time when I was stranded in Virginia for three days and had no other options, and it didn't hold a candle to papa Angelo's. Walking in to pick up my order is so nice, everytime. All the workers over the years have been nice and the guy who owns the place is also very nice. Truly, and honestly. I'd recommend no other place for pizza and knots. I still sit in the same seat my mother and I sat in when we first went there all those years ago. It's a very special place to me. read more

I must say, I eat pizza as much as anyone in the world. This New York style pizza is some of the best I've ever had, if not the best. The garlic knots were also phenomenal. We were invited to listen to the live music on a Friday night at papa Angelo's. We got there around 5:15pm. The air conditioner was not working and the back of the store garage door was open and so was the front door. The wind was gusting thru the front door to keep the air flowing. The young man cashier was cordial. I asked for no tomato on the $6.90 side salad, and they brought with tomatoes. The lady who brought it to us said the cashier put no onions. She took it back and remade it. We also got the large supreme pizza. It was a basic pizza. We paid for a Diablo sauce but never received. It is very expensive, $31. They were busy the whole time. The other seniors at the table also complained about the cost for what they got. read more

Best pizza in OKC! Came here from NYC a year ago and not much comes close to a NY pie. This is it. Staff is friendly, place is clean. Love the NY decor! This is great NY crust with high quality toppings. Those garlic knots are delicious. Staff is fun and doesn't mind special requests.

We ordered a pizza for the first time here tonight. I ordered it online and their app said it would be ready at 5:15 pm. I went in at 5:12 and showed them the code the app said to show when picking it up. Two different employees acted like they had never seen anything like that before and asked for my name. They checked the oven and said it would be ready in 2 minutes. They finally brought it to the counter at 5:30. As for the pizza it was just shy of $24 for a Med 14" 1/2 supreme and 1/2 3 meats. When we got it home 5 minutes later it was like it wasn't even cut all the way through. The whole center of the pizza stuck to the bottom of the box and had to be cut away from it. The crust was horrible, hard to bite through and all the ingredients came off when trying to separate the pieces. I can think of lots of places to get better pizza for a lot less. Won't be going back. It's too bad because it is a place we drive by a lot and always wanted to try it. read more

I was at an event where we were given an option to order from Papa Angelo's. I've heard of it for several years but never eaten there. I chose the calzone. Although there wasn't much meat in it, (I asked for pepperoni) I think the reason is because the cheese is the star! And the dough was so good. I haven't had a calzone in ages and I was not disappointed. I'd love to go to the actual restaurant and have it come out piping hot from the oven. I can only imagine. read more

Not sure what happened tonight but the employees were lost and unsure of what to do in every moment. Slow to take our order, 5 min of us standing there. Slow to serve us and they didn't even know where to put the pizza on the table, and somehow I could have become their direct supervisor because they simply needed guidance in every step. It wasn't a pleasant experience by any means and the food wasn't good either. The "$8 Large" salad was joke. It's more of a $1.99 head of lettuce. Raw pizza crust I went by this place a couple months ago to pick up a pizza. Parked in the parking lot out back. Came in through the back door because that was the quickest way in, wasn't sure I was even in the right place, back of the house seemed in disarray and filled with junk. Got to the service counter, noticed that they had uncooked, ready-to-go cheese pizzas, waiting in a deli style cooler. Picked up the pie and got it home, when I tried it, I was instantly reviled. The pizza dough was mostly raw. Raw ingredients such as dough, I find very gross. Pizza should not be kept very cold and then put through the oven the same way you would otherwise. It won't cook fully unless you adjust the cook time. I will not be coming back for fear that this may happen again. read more

This New York pizzaria in the heart of Bethany is a great place to get a dose of New York! The owners are friendly, always working hard. They have many tables to sit at and a large booth section in the back for parties of 10 or more. The tables and table tags are cute, all making reference to a well known part of New York. They have pizza pans on the wall, marking what size you are ordering. Lunch special is cheese, each additional topping is extra charge, comes with a fountain drink. They do have a few cans to choose from. You can watch them making your pizza fresh to order. You may wait a bit longer than other places, but your pizza will be hot and made fresh. read more

This was three stars, at best. Grandpa had to return his rental and we stopped into one of his favorite places. I must not like New York style because i was not a fan. I ordered the lunch special with two slices and a drink. $20 for both grandpa and I to enjoy a nice lunch. I ordered beef and onion on one slice and pepperoni on the other. Grandpa ordered Italian sausage and olive on one and mushrooms and beef on the other. I just wasn't a fan while grandpa inhaled both pieces. The beef is actual ground beef. The onions had pieces of skin left on that flaked during cooking. Some of the sausage was on my pizza and I do not like Italian sausage. The crust was floppy but had a firm bite to it. The service was great and while we waited some time for our order, it was hot and greasy like a good side should be. read more

Had high expectations for this place after a friend raved about how good it was. I love me some good pizza, but am usually hesitant about shops like this because of how expensive they tend to be. My 2 friends and I came in around 5 or 6pm during the week and decided to share a Supreme pizza. (I believe it was a large or NY size) As far as price is concerned, I thought all the prices were pretty good until I saw that they add almost $5-10 depending on the size if you're ordering a Supreme. That seems way expensive for a couple pieces of sausage, sprinkling of bacon, and veggies. I wanted to try some meatballs but they were out, so we opted for some Garlic Knots instead. They were good, but we were surprised to see that they don't serve them with any dipping sauce. We were also surprised to see a big pool of oil at the bottom of the bowl. Don't even know how it's possible to be that oily, but none of us dared to eat that last Garlic Knot. The pizza was great at first but if you look at the picture, one side looks significantly lighter than the other. Turns out it wasn't cooked long enough to the point of almost being doughy, which we initially thought was just too much oil. Seems like a rookie mistake for a pizza place but besides that, the pizza was good, with great ingredient quality too. $10 worth of ingredients? No, not at all. All 3 of us left fairly disappointed, with the friend who was raving about the place wondering what went wrong. We're hoping it was just a bad day, so we'll most likely try them out again in the future. read more

I can't see how this place gets an average 4 star rating with a lot of 5s. Wife and I came by later in the evening so maybe that had something to do with it, but this pizza was not all that. Strange taste, bland, and the crust was not that well cooked. Wife and I both commented that we could have gone to Walmart, bought a frozen California Pizza Kitchen BBQ Cicken and enjoyed a much better Pizza. Wouldn't come back for this one. read more

The first time I had this pizza I was wowed. Unfortunately this time I was not. My boyfriend sat outside waiting for curbside pick up. They came out and admitted they did t see the order. They took about twenty more minutes and apologized for the weight. The staff is nice but service seems slow each time I have ordered from them. Still I was excited about the food. When I worked at Corporate Chesapeake a group of girls would all cram into a car and visit this place. Bi weekly we always came here. Not only was the food great, prices right but the staff was so kind! They had a great lunch special that included a slice of pizza salad and drink.. their bread knots were to die for! they can't be good for you but every now and then i'd splurge and have that as well... the pizza is made fresh to order so if you want to add any toppings you can. such a great and easy lunch spot. won't be disappointed if you're craving some pizza ever! read more
