The receipt for two beagles and two chi teas
    Ceydy H.

This place is soooo expensive!! We ordered two beagles and two chi teas. The total was $46.75 + tax $2.17 + $8.40 18% tip = $57.22 They charge you for every item on your beagle: For only one beagle: Toasted pizza beagle $3.75, cucumber slices $1.50, red onion $1.25, tomato slice $1.50, spinach $0.85, plain cream cheese $3.25, 1/2 lox (salmon)$7.25. TOTAL= $ 19.35 Not worth the almost $20 for each beagle. This is insane!

    Clam chowder with bacon

Got this Chocolate fudge cake for birthday, it was creaming, just the right amount of sweetness, and moist. The whole cake was almost gone immediately and I even had second piece. I got the Clam chowder for later, but after I tasted it in store, I couldn't stop lol Only thing I wish they have is to write on the cake.

This was my first time back since the pandemic. I meandered in there on a recent lazy Saturday late morning. The place looks the same and thankfully still serves up come consistently baked delicious cookies, pastries, and bagels and of course awesome customer service. They do not fail me. That is what keeps me coming back. I got the cheddar cheese bagel toasted with half plain cream cheese and the other half sun dried tomato cream cheese spread. I was not picky about the top or the bottom of the bagel having which particular spread. I let them choose. The bagels are not New York style. They are baked and more bread like. Still all so yummy with a slight chew, toasted or not. My toasted bagel had a crackly melted cheese top. Mmm. Even though I prefer more of a NY style bagel, I totally enjoyed their bagels. Ohh that sun dried tomato spread was d-licious! The almond cookie, with a dollop of chocolate piped on top of it, is one of my favorite item from them. It never disappoints. Ooops, I ate that up and forgot to post a pic. ;D Besides the baked goods, they serve up espresso drinks, fresh juice smoothies/drinks, and pre packaged sandwiches and salads. Prices are pretty standard for a bakery in Auburn. They have an indoor dining area and some outdoor seating. They are right off Interstate 80 (exit 119c) in a neighborhood retail shopping center.

$10 worth of bagel add ons.

I've grown up in this area and seen the downfall of this bakery. I was willing to give it another chance, ordered lox bagel x2. They charged for the salmon, the cream cheese and they charged $2.75 for a side of tomatoes, $2.75 for a side of sprouts and $2.75 for a side of onions, I figured at that price my son and I could share the toppings on our two bagels. The order came to almost $70. I was disgusted. One bite of salmon- and here's a photo of the $10 worth of toppings. I won't be back. Based on the filth on the floor they probably won't be around long. Go down the road to Pour Choice or Baker CakeMaker instead.

Yummy cookies.. so moist and delicious

Recently my friend for my birthday ordered an assortment of cookies from this little bakery. The cookies were moist and delicious. We had a variety of snickerdoodle, raisin oatmeal, coconut puffs, chocolate chip, sugar cookies and peanut butter. The cookies were large and tasted very fresh and what a variety to choose from. I would highly recommend this bakery if you are in the Auburn area. The grandkids will love the cookies along with your friends....

    Rum Balls

Recently, I visited this place with my best friend and we ordered two drinks, both terrible. I ordered a small, hot tea misto and the tea bag was almost as large as the cup making the drink super bitter. My best friend ordered a sugar free mocha and it was unbearable which is saying something because she can enjoy many "diet" foods. However, the pastries looked amazing! We said "next time" and left with our bad drinks. Today, I visited again with my family, ordered two drinks, and one was terrible and one was alright. Besides the drinks being poorly made, the price of them is what really kills me. I ordered my stepson the smallest size of the Freeze and it was nearly $8! It came out very liquidated and not frozen, no whip cream, nothing special. It almost seemed like a chilled Carnation instant breakfast... very disappointing. I ordered a small, iced chai tea latte with dairy substitute and it was fine. Today, we also bought two Rum Balls and I saved mine for an afternoon pick me up. I took pictures to show my best friend, yes - the same one who went with me the first time, and when I finally ate mine, it was incredibly boring. I feel like I can't win here. :/ I will say that my husband buys Challah here every week and those come out great! Every pastry *looks* great, but to date, I've only had one Rum Ball and I won't buy it again. My hope is that this business invests in proper beverage making training for the nice staff. With the prices they're charging for them, they could really make a profit if they had good beverages.

Bagel and cc with tomato with some lox
    Jody C.

I just paid $18.45 for a sesame bagel with cream cheese , lox , tomato, red onion, and cucumber. And it was not an incredible amount of lox Nor any of the other ingredients for that matter. The girls at the counter were very nice and everything inside looks delicious, but I never would have ordered it if I knew it would've cost me $18.45 for a sesame bagel with cream cheese lox tomato, red onion, and cucumber.

It's really busy and hectic but they are very efficient and we found plenty of available seating to enjoy our food. I got the tasty bacon burger and my husband the TRI-Tip sandwich. We loved both. They put some kind of delicious spice blend on the burger that made it so so delish! and the sandwich was super generous with a side of au-jus. It's not fancy but it hit the spot for a quick road trip spot. We didn't browse too much around the store but there were tons of people shopping and buying their award winning pies. Wish we lived closer! Highly recommended.

I went in thinking I was grabbing a slice of pie and walking out. That plan lasted about 30 seconds. They had samples everywhere, and every time I turned around I found something else I wanted. We ended up leaving with a Dutch apple pie slice, Marionberry pie, Triple Berry pie, peach cobbler, chocolate-covered gummy bears, a chicken pot pie... and I'm pretty sure there was more because by then I had lost track. My friend wasn't even shopping anymore. She was throwing stuff into the basket like Jordan shooting a fadeaway. I swear I heard her say, "Count it!" once or twice. The staff was awesome. Super friendly, happy to answer questions, and the whole place was clean and easy to walk around. Whether you're looking for pies, snacks, gifts, or just want to wander around for a bit, you'll probably leave with more than you planned. Next time I'm skipping dessert first and going straight for the burgers and fries... although knowing me, I'll probably leave with another pie too.

I had the crème brule donut and it was to die for! I had to find a quiet spot, like in Ally Mcbeal, for that first bite & coffee sip. AHHH! Yah it was that good! The price was right for the quality vs the quantity and requires a return visit. These guys just opened so I can't wait to see what they do with coffee options later on. Speaking of which, the one star comment by Matt C (the cat DJ) is suspect. I mean come on 1,206 reviews, there is no quality to Matt's one star review and he violates Yelp review guidelines by reviewing on competitors in his industry, 198 of them. Here, Matt posts that he would rather stuff Wal-Mart donuts in his face to get more quantity instead of, as he claims, Hula Buns makes "a better tasting donut". I hope people make more reviews to counteract this kind of fake engagement. In a nutshell, Hula Buns makes superior quality pastries, call ahead is available, it's a pick up only joint; so the ambience is not for sitting and working, you can see a real kitchen in operation right behind the cashier, you see that the donuts are fresh, it's easy to find, the parking is good AND THEY DELIVER SMALL AND LARGE ORDERS! My co-workers are going to so LOVE ME!

Well, no disappointment here! It was on a Thursday morning- people were there eating, more then kept coming since it's almost lunch time. I had the hot Reuben sandwich with a cup of their clam chowder while my husband had the fish and chops and a bowl of clam chowder. LOVE the soup! Nice balance of creaminess, taste and enough clams! Filling and satisfying on its own. The sandwich was also tasty- enough that I had to bring back half to take home. I don't know what was going on back there, but the servers barely made rounds to our table, didn't even ask us if we wanted coffee, and when we asked one server to check on our food. All she said was "it would be out soon" and we heard that for the next 10 minutes each time we asked. The restaurant itself seemed pretty clean although the bathrooms definitely could use renovation. You can just tell that either they have so much business they don't care much about service or they're just not quite sure how to dial everything in to balance the front of house and kitchen delivery. If I have any specific suggestions to offer: tell your customers upfront about your kitchen wait times. Nobody wants to wait an hour for breakfast food. Make sure to follow up with your customers and ask them if they want anything else to drink besides water it seems like a really easy way to make extra money.
