We decided to enroll our four-year-old son in the program as well, and everything went smoothly during that process. Arrangement was month-to-month, price is fair, and the facility and program came highly recommended from other professionals in the area that I trust deeply. As the weeks have passed bringing my kids to class, I pivoted from LA fitness, and my core focus on adult basketball league and hoopin, and decided to sign up for personal boxing classes. After a couple of classes in, I'm slowly improving at the footwork and pivoting/shifting weight, and I'm feeling more confident.. I run a large and successful organization, which includes a sales team that's highly focused on customer service and execution... And, I've been shown nothing but respect and excellent customer service, when it comes to working with Ekata. I trust my own personal training and health, as well as my kids, in their program. Let's go!!!

100% recommend checking this place out if you're even remotely interested in learning real-world…read moremartial arts from someone who genuinely lives and breathes it. I met Sifu Glenn by pure chance before the studio even opened--just saw "Kali" on the back of his sweater and asked if there were classes in SCV. That one random question led to private lessons and eventually being part of something way bigger than I expected. What started for me as a search to learn knife skills turned into a deep dive into arts like Silat, JKD, Muay Thai, and more. And it's not just about fighting--it's the technique, the philosophy, and even the history behind these arts that Sifu Glenn brings into every class. He's incredibly patient, always focused on making sure your technique is clean before speeding things up. One of the first lessons that stuck with me was "slow is smooth, smooth is fast"--something I heard back in the military, and was happy to see the familiar mantra being taught. Another thing I really respect--at the end of each session, he asks what stood out to you or what you learned. In the Army, we called that an after action review. It's a chance to reflect on what you noticed, what you did well, and what you could've done better. That kind of mindset builds real progress. He's generous with his time, keeps communication clear, and is genuinely invested in your growth. If you want real training rooted in purpose, tradition, and skill--this is where you want to be.

I would recommend Sifu Glenn's classes without hesitation. I arrived here searching for FMA…read moreknowledge and enjoying my journey. I also second everything the first reviewer has said. Sifu Glenn combines his lessons from numerous martial arts: Kali, Silat, JKD, Muay Thai and a few grappling arts. With all of us students from different backgrounds and various arts of our own, he teaches us in ways we understand from theory and application and does his best in passing along of the beautiful tradition of these arts. Sifu Glenn is all the best you think of when you think about martial arts masters combined into one if there were one. I appreciate his generosity from his endless depth of knowledge from his experience and am grateful for his kindness and patience.

I had been going to the gym on my own for many years and it was mundane and not exciting. Jon is very encouraging and patient, makes workouts tough but fun and i always felt like i was spending my money better with him than when i was doing the same thing at the gym. Training took place outside, which gave it a boot camp feel but more personal. I have asthma but that doesn't stop me from pushing myself, and Jon was always understanding yet knew i enjoyed the push. I had tried kickboxing before but being trained in muay thai was a very new experience and it was awesome. I know i learned so much and was confident enough that i could spar but didn't muster up the courage to. It was purely out of fun and just knowing i could protect myself and kick ass if need be. :) I felt that i had gotten to be in the shape i'd ever been thanks to him. It was hard but it was totally worth it. He's your guy!
