Really big in service here... been to this location three times and experienced an underwhelming experience. My first visit here, I had asked for utensils and was told to get it myself. Totally OK, but the condescending tone is unnecessary. Again, first visit here and I was in a rush- it should be standard at the register to share that information; where to go, what to get. Second visit, I brought my colleagues and manager. Again, this information was not shared but luckily I was there to just get them what they needed. No big deal! But the food came out at different times and most of us felt uncomfortable eating food unless the entire table had theirs. Third time and here I am writing a review. I waited for my food as multiple people got served prior to me. I tried smiling and waving to someone who was delivering the food, and she was clearly avoiding me. She even checked in on everyone around me... On top of that, they seem well trained at removing the table number once the food has been served. My table number remained up for 25 minutes. I purchased an entree, drink, and a cookie- really trying to support the business here despite the lack of mind for the consumer. Not until another woman who seemed to have the outside coverage passed by was I able to get to share my issue. The manager came and offered me an additional side or dessert but my meal came with two sides and I had already purchased a cookie. He explained that the issue was because my order was pushed as completed but that does not cover the fact my table number was up the entire time and the other service members completely ignoring me. I am at Cherry Creek for work every other week and wanted this place to be my go-to for meals but 3/3 visits of service being subpar- I've got to move on! I audit service for work and understand I can't make judgment from the first two visits. This third one solidified it! Flower Child is always busy so I've learned to order ahead especially when I'm with a toddler. I ordered the curry for myself today and it's very yummy except the carrots are cut into huge pieces and they feel raw/not boiled at all. For the kiddo I ordered broccoli as one of the sides and they were also huge pieces that I had to cut smaller for him. I don't know how many times I had passed by this place whenever I was in Cherry Creek. As much as I wanted to try it so badly, I got sidetracked each time. But finally, yesterday, I had a chance to check it out. And the experience was good. What I like about this place is the fact that they have several wines on tap. This is a huge plus for me. During a late lunch hour, on top of the several sides and the soup of the day (in a bowl) for us to share, I had to get me the Sauvignon Blanc on tap (they also have Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir on tap.) What we got were...Cauliflower Risotto (side), Sweet Potato (side), Brown Rice (side) and Daily Soup (Thai Chicken Curry with Mushroom, Coconut and Lime), Sauvignon Blanc (tap) and Arnold Palmer. Let me rate each one (except Arnold Palmer as I didn't taste this one.) -Sauvignon Blanc: This is a decent Sauv.Blanc. Crisp and light. For $8, I'll go back here just for this as a casual lunch or even early dinner. -Cauliflower Risotto: Is a bit too salty to my liking and yet, overall, this is not a bad dish to order as a side. The portion size is decent. -Sweet Potato: Enjoyed this one. I have never had sweet potato cooked with bok choy and they are paired well in my opinion. Not too salty at all. -Brown Rice: This is a simply rice dish. Plain and well cooked. Decent is the best way to describe it. -Daily Soup: Like I stated above, it's a Thai Chicken Curry with Mushroom, Coconut and Lime. This is a soup, not a curry dish so it's very soupy (since it's got the curry flavor, I wish this was a bit more curry-ish dish to be frank so I wasn't super impressed with this one and yet, it wasn't a bad dish either.) The portion size is good for the kind of price ($7.95). *Note: all the sides are $5. I'd say eat outside as long as the weather permits. The patio has a good number of tables. I knew there was a huge paid parking lot, but because it's Cherry Creek, I've avoided it like the plague. Apparently it's validated if you go to Flower Child! Guess I could have looked that up. I was shopping at the cherry creek mall when my friends and I noticed how cute this restaurant was and popped in for a late dinner. All it took was one dining experience to quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in Denver! All of the food options are so healthy and delicious. You can choose from salads, bowls, wraps and entrees. I opted for the chopped vegetable salad with tofu and it was absolutely mouthwatering. I loved all of the fresh vegetables, especially the beets, the perfectly cooked tofu and the miso dressing added the perfect umami finish to make my tastebuds light up. I also tried the rotating kombucha, which was a lavender blueberry-so refreshing! I ordered a little side of fruit, which was mostly pineapple and it was so sweet and delicious. The inside (and outside!) is so aesthetic and I felt like I was dining in Italy. You order at the counter, but there is plenty of friendly staff around if you need anything. A few things were off though: The girl who took our order was super sweet, as was management. The server who dropped off our food, however, left a bad taste in my mouth. I understand having a bad day at work, but we were confused when she brought over one whole entree for our table of two and then a side of the entree for the other order. she took the side entree away, came back with two receipts and spoke down to us while pointing at the individual items we ordered. the confusion could've been avoided had she communicated that she brought over a partial order instead of choosing to treat us in this passive aggressive manner. The food: Standard stuff, I ordered the steak with a side of broccoli and "smashed" gold potatoes. Maybe this is just me, but mashed potatoes and smashed potato are two different things.
