Just ordered a to-go order and found a hair in my salad + the chicken was rock hard, inedible and almost purple looking. I ended up having to throw the whole salad away. I called the restaurant to see if I could get a partial refund since the chicken was really questionable but can't get ahold of anyone. I'm a Mad Greens fan now. I kind of figured I wouldn't be all that interested in a place that makes big salads, but they also have bowls and wraps, and I've found the dish I really like. That said, the menu has plenty of great choices, and at some point I'll branch out and try more of it. I've visited this location a few times now, and they've been quick and efficient each time. I've ordered ahead to-go and that works well too, as my food has always been ready when I got there. This is a bit healthier than a lot of comparable lunch/dinner places if you order correctly, and they are very good about customizing menu items if you have certain needs or wants. What is the point of getting a BIG one if they are always half full. You tell them to add more lettuce when in line & they say some BS about it not fitting in the bowl. It's freaking LETTUCE. This place is MAD good! Unfortunately the seating area is closed but take out is available. I ordered the chicken chipotle ceaser in a spinach wrap (minus the tomatoes ) added a few extra things like red onion, bacon, and mad spice pecans. This combination was everything. Now why not 5 stars? Well the only thing was missing was a little bit of welcoming while walk in and the gentleman face was obviously in a unpleasant mood with very little conversation. I just ordered the Bonnie Parker salad to-go from this location and a good portion of the greens were rotten. I was only able to pick aside the toppings and eat around the black lettuce. Its not a lot to ask of a salad place to offer fresh greens. My friend and I went here for lunch after hiking. The salads were awesome! They tasted fresh and crisp. I had the Athena and it was a really good Greek salad- and no skimping on the fixin's! My friend had the Ty Cobb (with Ranch rather than Blu Cheese) and loved it! She did spicy chicken and spicy avocado instead of the regular. We will definitely be back! One thing I would say is that the the regular-sized salad is more than enough, unless you are incredibly hungry! read more

Another in the casual dining assembly line building your meal type establishments.This time, with salad being the focal point. This could catch on and I'm shocked it hasn't hit Cali yet. Modern decor clad in chrome and earthy colors this establishment also sports NeKter type smoothie drinks. Nekter meets simple greens? I suppose. A bunch of pre made choices and you can create your own. Various proteins highlighted by chicken steak shrimp can be added to any salad. I went cause I wanted healthy. The salad was ok. Shrimp pre cooked tasted like they were.. precooked. Other stuff was what you would expect. My problem was the floor behind the counter. It looked like a guy carrying lettuce ran into a girl carrying out the trash and kaboom lettuce, used napkins and other pieces of "clean" garbage was all over the floor. Not a little... a lot! A big turn off. A carnivore lover could use a photo of that floor with a caption "vegans are pigs too." Salad bars in general lack flavor and lord knows how often the containers with varying ingredients get refreshed. If you are that lazy and can't build your own salad at whole foods or something like it, well I suppose going here is a good option. And we all likely have a business that's treated us poorly for one reason or another, yet we give them second or third chances. Isn't that, by definition, insanity? Expecting a different result with the same action. I've been spending quite a bit of time over at DU in the evenings and am tired of getting a Jimmy John's sandwich for dinner. I've tried pupusas and now salad instead. In theory, Mad Greens is ideal. Fresh salads and wraps, casual, quick and right on the way to DU campus. The first time I dined at Mad Greens, it was OK. Nothing out of the ordinary. I had a $12 salad and it did the job. Every time after that has been terrible! Why I continue to go back and pay a lot of such bad service and usually not what I actually ordered is insanity on my part. Mad Greens uses the assembly line approach. Order at the front with one person, they get your salad order started, then pass it off to another person who adds the toppings/dressing, then passes it off to another person to collect payment. Or at least that's what seems to be the plan. Last night, someone started my salad, then no one picked up where the first person left off... I was just standing there for 4-5 minutes, watching a semi-empty salad bowl in the queue while others who were in line behind me were topped off/dressed and paid while I stood there all by myself, wondering what happened. Someone finally picked up where the original person left off, but it was super random. Also, I'm pretty sure the salad I ordered was not even the salad that they made for me. A few weeks prior to that, they forgot to add any protein when the salad came with chicken. So all I had was dressed greens for $13. Everyone there is nice enough but it's very odd. Either I have a sign on my forehead that reads, "Town Dummy" or they're taking some extra luscious smoke breaks and have a very short attention span. I realize it's fast casual and not The Ritz, but getting a salad order right and following the line shouldn't be that bad. Not again, I tell you. Not again. read more

This store has the best staff I have ever experienced in fast food company in the metro Denver area. The customer service is top notch, the salads are created with accuracy and the quality of the ingredients are so fresh! This is my regular spot for lunchtime when I am in the area and want something fast, healthy and tasty. I decided to return to Mad Greens and I had a much better experience than my first time. The Southwest bowl is fantastic and the employee who made it was so nice. The line wasn't even very long at 5:45pm, and that's usually the "dinner rush," so that was appreciated. Their prices are a little higher than other fast casual restaurants. However, it's worth it in my mind because they have so many healthy choices. All of the menu items here are chock full of vegetables, and the ingredients are very high-quality. I've been wanting to try this place for a while. Something always happened that it didn't work out. My fiancé is having weight loss surgery in two weeks so we chose to go here because it had an option to build your own salad. I chose the Mad Molly Brown. He built a salad with romaine, tofu, onions, carrots, and egg to stick to his pre op diet. We ordered online. He went to pick them up on his 1 hr lunch break. He brings the salads home, and they've mixed the ingredients up in the salads. I'm looking at the receipt and the receipt is correct. So the order was correct. Whoever put the salad together just didn't care enough to pay attention. All of the ingredients for both salads were there, they were just thrown in whichever salad in whichever order. They literally took every ingredient from my salad that he COULDN'T Eat, and put it in his salad. My salad was just spinach, onions, and 3 small pieces of mozzarella. The ONLY reason this review is two stars is because I called and they refunded me without issue. To be fair, this is partially on me because I should have looked at the reviews on here before I chose this location. So now I'm sending my fiancé back to work without having eaten anything because I didn't realize that getting a restaurant (that only does salads) to get a salad order correct would be an act of Congress. Mad Greens is a fantastic quick-lunch option. I love that you can customize your salad and choose to have less dressing. I hate an overdressed salad. There are a lot of good vegetables to choose, which is good for me since I prefer a meatless, veggie-heavy salad. They also serve Maine Root soda and Teakoe tea, two great beverages that make me re-think my usual choice of water. So glad this place is around. I really wanted to like this place. Sadly I can't say that I do. I haven't been since my last review in 2010, again disappointed. Green chili is not good. A lot of spice, but the pork or whatever is in it is very fatty and rubbery. I had the beet salad, can't think of the name- I believe it's the Ivan..what I dislike most is how small they chop everything. I prefer rough chops-- smaller chops makes for a mushy salad. The lettuce becomes slimy and the taste muddled. Yuck. I can appreciate their dedication to healthy cuisine, I just don't think the overall taste and quality is on point for me. The most frustrating thing about needing to be on a carb/grain/sugar-restricted diet at least 80% of the time? EATING OUT. Your choices on a modified ketogenic diet often limit you to meat and non-starchy vegetables when going to restaurants. And forget about fast food... ..... One of my favorite quick & healthy spots since moving to Denver has been Mad Greens. They offer wraps, salads and seriously delicious grain bowls! I've had the wraps - they're awesome! But since I'm really needing to be more strict with my diet at the moment, and for a variety of reasons, I was super happy to see the Ty Cobb salad on the menu... ..... The Cobb salad included a bed of romaine, tomato, onion, avocado, bacon, grilled chicken, eggs, and a swap of ranch dressing in place of blue cheese. I also had their famous "MAD" spicy seasoning sprinkled over top. (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.) The girl who helped me was so sweet, happy to accommodate my request, and super speedy! One thing I love is that they ask you how much dressing you want on your salad, as opposed to giving you a little quarter-ounce ramekin. Then they toss everything up for you so you don't make a mess trying to coat all of the veggies in that delicious creamy goodness. WTF!!!!! "WOW, THAT'S FANTASTIC!" Is all I can say about this place. I came in here earlier today with my girlfriend and her aunt cause they had heard about it. Word got around to them that this place was very good. Let me tell you, this place is so interesting and the taste is great! The selection is huge, so you can choose from a large variety of toppings! And not only the toppings, but also the dressing! I kid you not, I saw about 15 different choices for salad dressings! The taste was great. I loved mine more than I did my girlfriends or her aunts. I had salad with shaved almonds, cucumbers, eggs, and strawberries with some kind of Caesar dressing! It was SO good. You really gotta get it with strawberries. It adds so much flavor!
