I met a friend here for lunch and finally crossed something off my food bucket list. For years I'd heard about dan dan noodles from cooking shows, but I'd never actually ordered them. This was my chance, and they didn't disappoint. I chose the mild version, which was perfect for me since I'm not someone who enjoys a lot of heat. It still had plenty of flavor and let me appreciate all of the ingredients without being overwhelmed by spice. I also enjoyed one of their fresh-pressed juice drinks, which paired really well with the meal and made everything feel fresh and balanced. The food, atmosphere, and service all came together for a relaxing lunch with a friend. I'll definitely be back to continue exploring the menu. As someone who's been part of the Yelp community for many years, I appreciate restaurants that take pride in both their food and their hospitality. If I ever have a concern, I prefer to speak with the manager while I'm there because I believe every restaurant deserves the opportunity to make things right. I had not been to this location for awhile. My first impression was small and drab, not the cheerful spot I remembered. This is a breakfast and light lunch spot with counter ordering and lots of takeout. However, if you dine in you receive real, solid silverware, linen napkins, and quality porcelain cups which really elevate the experience. There's seating for about 25 inside plus space for another ten outside. A large handicap ramp takes up a lot of the outdoor space, but provides excellent access. There's a good selection of baked goods and pastries, a wide selection of coffee drinks, a cooler with an interesting variety of sodas and healthy drinks, plus cocktails, wine, and beer. There are some breakfast plates, salads, soup, and sandwiches. There were a number of discrepancies between the Web site and the current offerings. That's always disappointing and leads me to think management is not on top of operations. A number of basic items were also unavailable. My girlfriend tried the Curry Bird which is curried chicken and turkey salad with sultanas, celery, red onion, and lettuce on a house-made croissant. She loved it and ate up every bite. I did not fare so well with my Woody Wood: house-roasted turkey, bacon, smashed avocado, tomato, lettuce, swiss cheese, cranberry relish, and tarragon aioli on ciabatta. That certainly sounds delicious. It was not. I don't like sandwiches that are served on totally dry bread and that was this. Not a hint of cranberry relish or tarragon aioli, much less butter, mayo, mustard, oil or anything else. The ciabatta was delicious, but dry as the Sahara. The staff was able to provide some mayo packets and that helped a bit. The turkey was dry and tasteless. House-roasted? Maybe by Hormel or Sysco. I needed a magnifying glass to find the bacon. "Smashed Avocado" is not the same as unseasoned guacamole that has been sitting out for far too long. To top it off, an unripe tomato and some sort of cheese that was certainly not Emmental. A very basic, ordinary supermarket sandwich, despite the good bread. Not what I expected. This is not the Olive & Finch I remember. Management has really dropped the ball. read more

This was our first time at Olive & Finch, and unfortunately, the experience wasn't great. When we walked in, we told them it was our first visit. We were handed menus and seated ourselves, but no one explained that ordering is done through a QR code at the table and that you have to pay before receiving your food. It felt more like ordering DoorDash than dining in. We paid upfront and still tipped 20%, expecting some level of service--but there really wasn't any. The person who brought our food barely acknowledged us. I asked for napkins, was told "yeah," but they were never brought, and no one pointed out where I could get them myself. On top of that, there was an extra "equitable" fee added, which wasn't explained. No one checked on us or asked how our food was. We basically handled everything ourselves--ordering, paying, getting what we needed. It left us wondering what we were tipping for, since there was no real service provided. A perfect Denver morning at Olive & Finch - Union Station! I stopped in for a pecan sticky bun and a white mocha latte, and both were absolutely divine. I freakin' LOVE Olive and Finch, don't get me wrong. It is often the first place I suggest for breakfast, out-of-towners, and lunch. HOWEVER! This particular location needs to TURN THE MUSIC DOWN!!!! What is with the war on silence these days? Why are they blasting (and I mean blasting) club music at 9am, or ever for that reason? Several times we had to repeat our order to the cashier because they couldn't hear us over the music. We literally watched a family walk in, looked shocked at the music, and walk out. This location is and will continue to lose customers because of the music. I will not return to this particular location - Cherry Creek is not nearly as loud. Otherwise I do suggest the Mushroom latte which gets me through the week, the gluten free coffee cake, the sandwiches, and the shakshuka. read more

I've enjoyed dining at O & F for quite some time and often bring friends and neighbors there because the food and atmosphere have always been enjoyable. In fact, I had lunch there again yesterday with a friend. I love supporting female, minority business owners. Today, I returned specifically to purchase a $200 gift card as a thank-you gift for my real estate broker. To my surprise, I was charged $215 because the restaurant added its "equitable pay surcharge" to the gift card purchase itself. I understand the surcharge being applied to meals, even if I may not personally agree with it, but charging an additional 15% on a gift card before any food, service, or gratuity is involved feels excessive and inappropriate. Essentially, the recipient will still be expected to tip when dining, meaning the customer is paying an added percentage upfront simply to purchase the card. As someone who owned restaurants for over 30 years, I found this practice disappointing. I've always believed gratuities and service-related compensation should be earned through actual service -- not added to the purchase of a gift card. I'm sharing this because I genuinely liked supporting this restaurant, but this experience left a very negative impression. read more

Do not order Full of Seoul. It's like inviting Satan into your digestive system. First off, the bread was soaked in a spicy sauce which was delicious, albeit salty. No balance with any other flavor. Within 30 minutes, I had heartburn and indigestion that no over-the-counter medication could lessen. Within 5 hours, the party had moved the inner chambers of my soul. My poor husband. I debated giving Olive & Finch a 3 or 4 star review. The food was great. The concept and service are weird. The bartender was not helpful at all and wouldn't give us any direction, you have to wander around the restaurant looking for your own table with menu and silverware in hand. No specific server. You have to get your own water. Plus on the final bill a "living wage fee." But it's self serve in many ways yet a tip is still expected. I don't know about this one. The huevos rancheros came out with perfect sunny side up egg (love that runny yolk), delicious salsa verde, fresh avocado, beans, and crisp tortillas to bring all the ingredients on the plate together. This is a wonderfully cute little bakery spot where you can get breakfast and lunch, too! I was looking specifically for a carrot birthday cake for coworkers and searched in the area online. So glad they were one of the spots to populate. This carrot cake was PERFECTION. The frosting is exactly how it should be, super cream cheesy and not sugary or gritty at all like some other places like yucky grocery stores do. The cake inside was super moist. I Loved the addition of pecans and strawberries. The strawberries goes so well with that cream cheese, too. Candied ginger can be more of a some like it some don't but I think it fits in this type of cake in the spice cake family -- and easy to avoid if someone doesn't prefer it. I personally think the strawberries & pecans are enough. And this cake wasn't too spiced either which I also liked. I will definitely be coming back to this bakery for more birthday treats, we celebrate monthly, and I will 100% be back for another amazing perfected carrot cake!!! It could have used a little more flavor and liquid (eg lime or lemon juice or hot sauce) to help give it extra flavor. Good portion. I can't believe how long it took me to check this place out. Had it saved on my Yelp list for so long and finally made it out and I am genuinely mad at myself for not indulging sooner. Super easy to order you just walk up to the counter and go grab a seat after. Service was great, no line when we got there around noon. We both got the high five breakfast sandwich and it was FIRE. I got my egg cooked over hard but it does originally come with a runny sunny side up egg which is what my partner got and that was pretty messy but also delicious. The candied bacon in this was to die for and the brioche bread was soft and amazing. I got a side salad and loved the crispy greens. Stopped in for lunch today. Very cute little spot! They have tables, high top seating inside, and a few tables out front. You order at the counter which also is stacked with a million beautiful pastries. They have a bunch of specials listed on the wall that look delicious. There were a handful of people with their laptops, working. I definitely think this would be a great spot to do so, as it is bright and lively but not too busy to be distracting. Great customer service from all staff that I interacted with. I ordered the Mama Phams salad and an IPA because life is about balance. The full sized salad is MASSIVE and comes with so much chicken. Dressing was a bit more bland than expected but once I mixed in the mega crouton slabs on top, it all made sense. The cracker has a similar flavor to cornbread and crumbles perfectly into all of your bites. I was very pleased with this meal. Beer was cold. Space was clean. I also bought some dog treats from the pastry counter and my dogs devoured them, I don't know if they even stopped to chew. All in all, really sweet lunch space.
