I used Flowers for two funerals and then I caught Mr Flowers in several lies including charging additional cemetery charges that the cemetery didn't charge. If you lie in business, and bs you. Never mind an old delapidated Limo that you pay plenty. When my brother passed away very suddenly, I asked the police to call Flower Funeral Home. I was in absolute shock. The first people I met were Mark and Anthony when they came to pick up his body, and they were very empathetic and assured me that they would take care of my brother. I immediately felt as though I made the right choice. My husband and I went to Flower to meet with Joanne to make arrangements for the service. Although my brother was very sick, he had not made anyone aware of his wishes, so the decisions were up to me. We had everything done in one day, and I managed to pull together many photos to have at the viewing. They did a great job. Mark was able to make my brother look so peaceful and natural. I was worried since he fell face forward when he passed. Mr. Flower came in to check on things, and Joanne was on top of everything from start to finish. The Deacon who said the sermon and prayers was amazing, he brought everyone comfort and brought us to laughter with his insightful words. The woman (I believe her name was Joanne) was very sweet and took care of us wonderfully the owner however, Mr. Flowers should not be allowed within 10 feet of grieving families. While we were saying our final goodbyes to our loved one he started loudly repeating that we needed to exit out the front to the limo, we were all clearly putting our jackets on and he repeated it again. My cousin expressed her displeasure at not only the fact that he kept repeating we needed to leave but also his tone. She tried to speak to Joanne and Mr. Flower interjected, and loudly said "you act like this after I said a prayer for YOU people!" To which 2 or 3 of our family members echoed back "you people?!?" At which he replied, "well I didn't say a prayer for myself". His voice was raised, his posture aggressive and several women in the family left in tears. This man is a piece of work. NO FAMILY SHOULD BE TREATED THIS WAY WHEN A LOVED ONE PASSES. I cannot believe that people who make their living assisting people during the worst times of their lives can be so insensitive, arrogant and indifferent. When my mother passed, I was looking for a funeral home and was touched by the responses I got from Joanne. I felt like she would guide us through the process and take some of the burden off our shoulders by handling the details of the cremation and memorial services. Joanne did not disappoint HOWEVER, the owner, Anthony Flower, was a completely different experience. When we made our arrangements for a clergyman, we did not want a Catholic service. We wanted a generic Christian service. On the day of the memorial service, with our family, friends and guests in attendance, I went to tell Joanne that the clergyman could begin whenever he was ready. She left the room and came back to tell me that Mr. Flower wanted to talk to me. When I got there he told me there was no clergyman. He kept repeating that all the clergy refused to take God out of the service. I didn't know what he was talking about. We never said anything about that. Even so, he took it upon himself not to tell us or call us to see how we wanted to handle it. He just didn't get anyone to provide a service. When I asked him why he didn't get a clergyman and/or call us ahead of time, he became nasty and tried to make it seem as though it was my fault. He never apologized or took responsibility. It was left to me to then tell my father and my sisters that our mother was not getting a service. Mr. Flower's alternative for the situation was to have Joanne do a reading. The reading made no sense and Joanne was clearly uncomfortable doing it. It was awkward at best. It was unconscionable at worst. In the end we arranged with the cemetery to have a clergyman perform a service when my mothers urn was interred. It was a beautiful service and should have been what we had when family and friends travelled to join us. When we arrived at the cemetery for the interment, Flower Funeral Home had not provided the cremation documents necessary. They faxed a copy over but 3 weeks later we have yet to get the original. This is not an experience that any family should go through when saying farewell to a loved one. However, when things go wrong it is imperative that the provider own up to the issue and do their best to make it right. Unfortunately for him, Mr. Flower is in the wrong business. read more

Before calling on Flower Funeral Home to take care of the arrangements for my brother I called on two other funeral homes in the area. My brother had passed in a car accident and it was important that we had the proper wake. Over 300 people would be coming and chapel size would become an issue not to mention all the other details that went along with making these arrangements. Most people don't find out until a loved one dies the things that you need to do. We had a budget, I considered it average for what funerals go for today. I spoke with Mark Flower and he agreed to sit with me and go over all the details of what costs would be. I felt comfortable that Mr. Flower would take care of my brother the way our family would want. I had explained to him that the car accident left him in pretty bad shape and that the other funeral homes suggested that the casket be closed even though they had not seen the body. After seeing my brother I figured that would be the case. Mark has assured me that if there was anything he could do present my brother as he was before he died he would make best efforts. He asked me to send him a few photos to go by and after he picked him up he would call me to let me know. That evening I got the call from Mark. I said to him "what do you think, closed casket?" Mark says "Well to be honest yes he's pretty bad, but I'm gonna work on him all night and have you make the call at least you will have the option" Fair enough I though, knowing pretty much what the outcome would be. The next day before the wake I went to the Funeral Home met with Mr. Flower again and she showed me my brother. For the life of me, I have no idea how this man did what he did. My brother looked amazing. As if the accident never happened and he passed in his sleep. I give Mr. Flower praise for his craft, I can tell that he takes pride in what he does. From start to finish everything was taken care of and there were no surprises. My family was very pleased with the service, the flowers and the reception Flower Funeral Home gave us. It's not every day you have someone who dies, but it's nice to know there are people out there that really do help you in time of need and not take advantage of your situation.
