They made it seem like they had shipped caskets to other states, but the shipment was delayed a couple days because they really didn't know what they were doing. Some of the smaller things were flubbed as well: they said they'd send the death certificates in the casket itself and then didn't, we chose one inscription for the casket and they ended up doing a different one. At no point did we get an apology or even a "thank you for your patience on this matter". The receiving facility was part of a larger chain, and the Pelham folks made it seem like we wouldn't be getting a personal touch from them, though the smaller company screwed up anyway. There should be plenty of competitors that deserve your business more than these guys.

There was nothing I could do at that moment because of distraught family members. If I were there alone, I would have stopped the burial! Instead, I immediately contacted the funeral home. To this day, four months later, Matt and the funeral home have not corrected the problem. I have called a number of times. I would NOT recommend this funeral home because of their insincerity and refusal to take responsibility for their mistake. The idea of my father's coffin having the wrong name on it makes me crazy on a daily basis. My father has gone to meet his Maker in a coffin with a mistake that will stay there virtually forever.
