Been coming here 3x a week now for a bit and love the convenience of it! For the price, what you get is excellent. The workout floor is amply stocked with machines and free weights, there are even sanitization wipe stations scattered throughout the floor to wipe down equipment after use. There are small combination lockers to store your keys, wallet, etc. while you workout, too. If you like this sort of thing, there are a variety of channels on simultaneously across several wall-mounted TVs and the tuned channels are labeled under the TV itself. You can use headphones (wired or wireless I believe) to tune to your preferred channel. I prefer to listen to music on my phone during a workout instead. The rest of the facilities are great, too! Small rooms for classes, childcare facility (hours vary, check the website), pool, chill zone (hangout place with air hockey, fooseball or table tennis, and video games), and when it's warm out, a mini water park outside! The locker rooms are large and have swimsuit spinners to de-wet them quickly. I love having an affordable membership here (for the whole family!) and love bringing my daughter to practice volleyball and basketball in the gym during open gym time. read more

Fitness classes need improved. Most of the instructors are great but you have to pay extra. They don't have a limit on the number in classes and it can be poorly managed by the front desk. Sometimes the weight classes are so full that it is unsafe. Often times people enter the yoga classes late (even up to 20 minutes) after the class has started (and they are not quiet or considerate when they settle themselves in). Several of us have written comments, given suggestions and brought this to the management's attention for over a year but they don't seem to care. read more

I used to love this place. I look forward to spending summers by the outdoor pool. However they have a new rule. All of the chairs are lined up around the pool, in the sun and you are not allowed to move them into the shade or anywhere. You create a safety hazard and the lifeguards can't get to you. There are about six picnic tables in the shade, once they fill up -- sorry Charlie. You want to lounge in the shade while your kids swim? Nope. Ridiculous! read more

We really enjoy the CAC as our family gym. From May to September we love the big lazy river and water slides, the outdoor splash zone and lap pool and the yummy snack bar which is priced reasonably and staffed with friendly helpers. Year round we utilize the upstairs cardio equipment, indoor track and the cool game room (air hockey, pool, ping pong, foosball and video games) and indoor pool w slide and neat wet climbing wall and basketball. They offer loads of swim classes and lessons, group fitness, kid summer camps and classes including volleyball, art, dance and chess. Around the CAC is open fields and a nice paved walking trail. CAC has plenty of parking and the locker rooms are always clean. Also, they provide sanitizer and wipes in multiple locations and equipment is well maintained. The best part? The super friendly front desk staff and helpful kind managers -- when I left my air pods they had them safely waiting for me -- thank you good samaritans who go to CAC! read more

I use to take a great morning class but they don't offer that anymore. The price value is good but upstairs workout area is too small for what they have crammed in there. Their equipment is VERY close together and there is just a very small stretching area which runs into the elevator and one other small space that backs up against the equipment. Set up is too crowded. They also let groups of people work out (not sure if it is an organized group through CAC or personal trainer (they said she wasn't but she is definitely personal training) up there that take what little space there is. read more

The outdoor swimming area is so fun and great for smaller children. Our kids are 2 and 4 years old and they absolutely love this place! There is an outdoor playground/splashpad looking area, a small lazy river, a swimming pool area with "lanes" to swim in, and a slide for bigger kids. The entire pool is a little under 4 feet deep so adults can comfortably stand to play with, assist, and watch their kids. There are plenty if tables and seats. There are large umbrellas to provide shade. They also have a food and beverage "stand" where you can purchase hotdogs, burgers, pizza etc. We ordered a pizza for $13.50 and it came out hot! They are Domino's pizza available in cheese, pepperoni, and half & half. You are allowed to bring large coolers for a small fee and personal coolers don't have a fee. Flower Mound residents have a discounted rate but nonresidents are welcome to visit, too. (for a tiny bit more $) Generally I really loved how clean this place was, how kid friendly it is, and how safe it feels for smaller children. There are also a lot of lifeguard on duty. This place was great and I do appreciate the safety they implement here! The only thing I will say, I took my nieces and nephew here for their last week of summer and the lifeguards would pick and choose who they will allow to go down the water slides. They let the kids go down the slides for an hour then the next lifeguard told the kids they couldn't go down anymore (they weren't even measuring the kids at this point) because of their height and ruined their experiences. I agree safety is important and so are rules, but be consistent on who you let on the slides because it sucked having to calm a kid who was tall enough to go on the slides! So glad to find a place so close to home where we can feel welcome and work out! Not to mention - we don't feel judged here!! It's clean and the staff is so friendly! There are so many adult programs and the swimming pool is so AMAZE. My husband and I signed up on the spot because of the pool alone. They have a mile ( I believe ) walk around area where you can walk or jog or whatever if you don't feel like lifting weights or swimming. The water park is amazing. I told my husband that we need to find children to bring here!! The weather was so perfect today and there were so many kids playing and having a good time. The FloMo resident fee is reasonable and there are so many different things you can do at the community center to stay involved. You can pay monthly or all at once for the year! This is a beautiful new dog park. It is extremely spacious with a separate park for small and large dogs, with an additional park for large dogs coming soon. There is a ton of space for the dogs to run. They put in seats so you can rest while your dog plays with other friendly dogs. Lots of garbage cans and plastic bags to clean up after little Fido. There are nice trees to give some shade. They even put in water fountain for people and your dog! Only negatives are no bathroom and the parking lot isn't huge. This is definitely a place your dog will love going. One of the bigger dog parks that I have been too and it's really pretty. Good job Flower Mound. read more

To say this place is amazing is not giving it enough credit. I can't begin to list everything they have to offer. I'm sorry to say even though we have lived here for quite a bit of time we still haven't utilized the CAC. So I can only rate the pools, building and customer service I received. My daughter's end of the school year party was held here and was a great success everyone had a blast. It was raining that day so they had to wait for the rain to stop to go outside. I had to leave early so I was unable to go outside because of the rain. Needless to say the party was a HUGE hit thank goodness The place seems to be almost brand new and very well kept. Everywhere I went it was spotless. So no lucky gym feel here. The customer service was not what I expected. Honestly I'm so sure what I expected from them but it was a wonderful experience that I wish more businesses ran like. I highly recommend trying this place out with your family and friends you will be happy and have no regrets. read more

Do not EVER play in a men's softball league in the city of Flower Mound. Game time was 7:45. Eight guys were in the dug out and two guys were walking up (less than 100 feet away). The umpires called the game because not enough people were in the dug out. Even when the two guys stepped on the field, it was still 7:45. The umpires had a terrible attitude and said they did not care because "the rules are the rules." In 22 years of playing sports, competitively and in recreational leagues, I have never seen umpires so unapologetic and uncaring about a game played for fun. My family loves the pools in the summer and the many classes and camps offered. I like that there is no contract to join the CAC and that you can sign up for as many months as you'd like. For example, I only sign up for the summer months so we have access to the pools and discount on camps. I like working out here in the summer when it's too hot to run outside while my kids would hang out in the Chill Zone or dropped off at Tot Drop. It never fails that we run into somebody we know from school, neighborhood, and the community at the CAC.Plus it's clean and just a couple miles from home. We have held and attended several kids birthday parties in the pools. They are affordable and there is a party host as part of the package to help run things smoothly. read more

The facility was good but overall experience was horrible. I paid to rent two rooms for $600 deposit included a month prior to my event. After paying for the rooms I couldn't get in touch with the party planner at All till a week after my event. Day of the party the people at the front desk had no idea what was going on or that I was having a party there. Also the catering room was locked after I was told specifically that I would have access to it due to having an ice cream cake it was also dirty and was filled with other items. It's been 3 weeks since my event & we have yet to get our $200 deposit. The party planner Kayla is extremely rude & has done nothing to get my money back sooner. DO NOT RENT A ROOM HERE!! read more

I'm not sure why this place doesn't have 5 stars. We usually go to the Tom muhlenbeck center but this one was closer to lewisville so My brother and I decided to take his kids there. There is a great indoor lap pool with perfect temps, and a nice big locker room with showers. Then when you go outside to the outdoor park there is a pleasant surprise. There are two giant slides, a lazy river, and a kids area with a bucket that drops water like at hurricane harbor. The kids had a blast and honestly so did I. We paid the $7 to get in and it was worth it. I noticed you can have bday parties there and they have concession stands so it's perfect for a low key family outing. read more

My family and I love the Flower Mound CAC! :) I am so glad we live close-by and are able to take advantage of all that they offer. We have a 1 year old baby boy so during Texas' brutal hot summers, its hard to find things to do without dying of heat exhaustion. Luckily, the CAC offers both an indoor and outdoor swimming area (in addition to cool game/fun centers indoors we haven't checked out yet). The indoor pool has laps, rock climbing wall, little fountains for the babies, and a slide. The outdoor area is like a mini-waterpark: lazy river, pool, slides, and a super-sweet kids area. My baby absolutely loves it! They even offer "grill" type foods (hot dogs, chips) and drinks. They have shaded areas you can rent out or use free, too. Non-Flower Mound residents pay $8/pp. Not bad! read more

Appreciate the city providing this but it's obviously overgrown it's capacity. Probably needs to be double the size to be more enjoyable. First off the outdoor pool hours are rediculous. Only open from memorial day until labor day??? Not every single resident revolves around a 10 year old school schedule and the best weather in Texas is in April SEP Oct. Then they don't open until 11am, so it's impossible to get an early start on the crowds and your day. Outdoor pool size way to small for amount of members. Beyond a good amount of treadmills the gym is not adequate for anyone that wants more than just a quick walk and stretch. Also really tight in there. Can't speak to much else but from what I've experienced is the CAC is best for those looking to drop off their kids and let them run wild. Anyone with infants or those without kids wont get much from the CAC in my opinion read more

We have been to this place several times for private classes with one of our coach from US swim team. The staff here was very welcoming. Our kids would play for hours in the indoor slides once they were done with their private lessons. Lifeguards here are very attentive in watching younger kids. At this place, lifeguard who was probably a college boy was able to judge the comfort of my 5 year old when it came to deeper pools. We were not aware of this place until we took private lessons from our US swim team coach. Thanks to a parent I talked today. It feels nice when someone whom you barely knew calls you back just to thank you for the recommendations you gave a year back. Nonetheless, I am very happy for her. read more

Beats the heck out of a back yard pool! Fun for everyone, great slides, diving board, & rock climbing in the pool. Should have made the lazy river twice as big. Basketball courts are usually not crowded. Weight room is a little bit pathetic, almost an afterthought. My daughter has been attending ballet/tap classes there. This semester, after already starting off in our usual room, they moved us to a windowless, bar less, and floors not made for tap. As matter of fact, the instructor told the kids they cant wear their tap shoes during class because they could fall on this floor. When I asked for a manager., a young girl stated she was the manager of the community center, but on their website she is listed as: Program coordinator. She wasn't helpful, didn't not once apologize. and said basically that group classes are priority and they get to just move us. Also stated she wasn't sure if we would even get a refund (only had 1 class since new session) because she wasn't in charge of that. Service is #1 to me. The people in the class embrace you and you feel welcome whether it is your first time or 100th time. If you haven't tried Riverrobics--you should! Great fun! This was the best $22 I've spent in ages. The water park was clean and not too crowded on a Tuesday afternoon. My wife and my 2 and 3 year old girls loved it. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to have some fun in a water park without spending a fortune to go somewhere like Hurricane Harbor. read more

The facilities are very nice. We love to bring our kids to the outdoor water park area and even to the indoor pool for swimming over the winter! This review is to caution those who might be considering swim lessons there. I'll tell the story and you can give whatever weight to it you will. Last summer we enrolled our 3 and 4 year olds in summer evening swim lessons. Being the first lesson for our 3 year old, he was apprehensive. Normal. We encouraged him that it would be so FUN and he would have such a NICE teacher who was going to help him swim! What we got was a complete dud of a teacher and a terrible experience. I'll refrain from name calling as she was technically a child. She did not smile at the toddlers or get them excited in any way for what they were going to do. Seemingly annoyed at even having to deal with them, she dumped a bucket of water over each of their heads first thing. Ok. . . several sputtered and a couple cried a bit, but I guess tough love? I still had hope for a good experience. She brought them out onto a platform with a PVC handle in the middle of the pool. My son began to cry. She ignored him for a bit. Offered no words of encouragement or comfort. To a 3 year old in his first swim lesson. Where I started to get agitated was when I saw her go up to him and sternly tell him to "STOP CRYING" right in his face. Really? Do you have a heart? Still no smiles, working with the kids in a very apathetic way. No one is having fun. My son having received only harsh treatment from his teacher is looking for me on the poolside and begins leaning off the platform to reach for me (though I'm about 10 yards away). His teacher tells him if he leans he is going to fall in. True. I come to the edge and tell him it's alright, stay with your teacher, YAY SWIMMING YAY! After I sit down again, he's still distressed, she still doesn't care. I watch as he leans off the platform again and drifts off into the water, floundering. She sees him quickly and lets him struggle for a moment before pulling him up. I can even be ok with this. . . it's a natural consequence to falling off the platform and he needs to hold on to be safe. What made my blood boil is what came next. She pulled my son up out of the water from under his arms. He's scared and crying as he obviously cannot swim. She looks my sobbing child in the face, tells him to "STOP CRYING" and DUNKS him. Dunked a crying three year old. A child gasping for breath and upset because he is only receiving negative attention from this person who is supposed to be teaching him. Dunked him to teach him a lesson? Dunked him as punishment for crying? I was horrified and dumbfounded. As a former teenage lifeguard and swim instructor I recognize that it's just a summer job for many of these employees. Some don't care much about how much the kids learn in their lessons, just get through the 30 mins, whatever. What is unacceptable is when children are treated dismissively or in a mean spirited way. I don't expect Mary Poppins to charm my 3 year old in a fairy tale swimming experience. I DO expect my kids to be treated kindly. I also know there are "bad eggs" and not everyone who teaches lessons at this facility is like this girl. The head lifeguard was very sympathetic to my concerns and appalled at what I reported happening in the class. I was relieved to be taken seriously and he offered for me to talk to a manager. This manager could not have cared less. He nodded along to my recounting of the incident with a smug *grin* on his face. With no offer of apology or a solution forthcoming, I asked him if this is how his lifeguards were trained to handle children. Another smug grin with a "I would have to check their training materials". At this moment I was done with the interaction. I asked for a refund on their lessons and expressed how disappointed I was in how we were treated. More smug slap worthy smiles and non-apologies for what "you say happened". I told him we would not be back for lessons again, invited him to please watch any video they may have of "what I say happened" and then I had to leave before I did something illegal. Beyond this incident, which while not catastrophic did scare the guts out of my kid, it is highly disappointing that I do not feel safe having my kids in the care of CAC employees. The lack of accountability on the management end is what gives me pause the most. read more
