My kids identify this as one of the best splash pads in the area, second only to Oak Hills Park in…read moreCarrollton (which they love because of the slides). It is HUGE - definitely the largest splash pad I've seen in terms of sheer size. It is designed so that the water spouts at the top of the splash pad form a small river that flows down to the lower area, where there are more spouts, plus rocks to climb on and grassy (turf) hills to roll down. My kids like bringing small toys and racing them down the river. The real star here is the shaded observation area for the mamas, though. There is no other park that treats us so well, providing expansive shade tents all the way around the park. There are picnic tables, but for the most part it's BYOC (bring your own chair) - or blanket - and set up shop on the turf, under the shade, in an elevated spot so you can keep an eye on the littles playing below. The bathrooms are new and usually pretty clean, although sometimes they do still smell like a porta potty. The splash pad hours are kind of a bummer, with the water not turning on until 10am. In the peak heat of the summer, we would be there waiting right at 10, but by 12:30 or so the water already felt like bath water - not refreshing and honestly kind of gross. I wish it opened at 8am so we could enjoy it for longer. Now that summer is over, the splash pad is only open on the weekends. They have a super helpful and very clear calendar which posts the hours here: https://www.highlandvillage.org/calendar.aspx?CID=31&showPastEvents=false There is a traditional playground directly adjacent to the splash pad, but it's unremarkable - certainly nothing you'd drive out of your way for. The rest of the park is BEAUTIFUL and well landscaped. I'm not sure what they use that massive pavilion for, but honestly I think it makes a case for a good wedding venue! If you're looking for a splash pad to add to your summer rotation, put this one on the list.

SMH BUT when we finally did get there the lady that works the entrance booth (Betty ?) was soooo sweet !! I'm just barely getting back into walking and wanted a nice easy "hike" and we found just that! We also found the houses that are all located in one section. Was fun to explore that.

I've visited this park twice and both experiences have exceeded my expectations. Endless patio benches and tables, a clean bathroom that's perfectly located, and a pristine jungle gym that will have your offspring worn out by the time you get them home. Plenty of trees for shaded picnic and parental lounging, and I was elated to discover how maintained the lawn is. My favorite aspect of the park is the little book cove they have nestled by the playground. Kids are encouraged to take a book and/or leave a book at their own discretion. Parental guardians might be a little wary of this right now due to COViD-19, but just wipe that bad boy down and the reading material should be good as new! Last time we visited, the ice cream man showed up! My 4 year old nephew was able to take a break and enjoy a refreshing popsicle treat then get back to work--up and down the slides! He even met a friend out there--with whom we plan to have play dates with in the near future. How cool is that!? I think we have found our PARK HOME!

There are activities for kids of all ages. It's clean and nicely maintained. Parking is not a problem and there are also benches and a nice shaded patio for people to bring food to eat here. This park is also next to tennis courts or pickleball courts and a water park. Only downside of this place is that it's next to the main street, so it can get noisy at times.

I'll note up front that this review is for the Stewart Creek Shoreline Trail. The parking for the…read moretrailhead is just before the pay-gate to enter the rest of Stewart Creek Park. We did not venture further in, so I cannot comment on the facilities there. The shoreline trail runs back between the subdivisions and the lake, away from the park. I think you could just walk across the road and access a connecting trail that leads into the park; however, you might have to pay an admission fee even a a pedestrian. I do not know. We just followed the shoreline for a mile or so. The scenery is sometimes pretty along the lake and some of the homes / back yards can be interesting as well. We passed several individuals and groups during our walk. The trail is not secluded (often passing groups of homes) and seemed quite safe. If you are in the area and want to take a walk away from the traffic, this is a good budget choice.

It was named after Wayne Ferguson, a former mayor with a true git-r-done attitude. We love the events that are held at the plaza, particularly the Sounds of Lewisville Concert Series. They bring in bands that are based locally and from farther cities. Always enjoyable and appreciated. We couldn't be happier that the concert series has been brought back this year. Having outdoor events lifts our spirits as we move back to life before the pandemic.
